I just got one today and really like it. The trainer is a a bit too stiff. It needs to be worked in much more than the knife.
It opens like an absolute DREAM, no problems at all. Very intuitive if you have it in the right grip. Closing it is a different matter entirely. I find that it's just easier to close by hand, since it avoids the possibility of the tip catching your palm. After all a quick opening is really all you need.
That's awesome! Congrats on the new knife and happy to hear that you really like it! That's what I've been saying all this time, how easy and intuitive it really is once you have it in your hands. For the closing, I find that I can still do it with one hand, I just need the blade to completely fold in, before I fold it completely.
Seems like a really cool knife for the price and including the trainer is a plus, I imagine they could sell the trainers alone for more than $50
The trainer is a bonus for sure, and honesty I see your point 100% perhaps they might consider that in the future! Believe it or now that’s what my wife asked lol can I have the trainer lol
@@MiguelEDC Yea, I'd buy a trainer version to fidget with. I have zero use for a live blade karambit lol. Such a cool mechanism though.
Love the video dude! I got mine a few months ago, it mignt be the most hazardous to the user knife I've owned. The trainer makes a big difference, it would be way too dangerous to just sell the knife.

Hello, very nice video. Are you thinking about a video about disassembling this knife into parts, e.g. for maintenance purposes? I didn't find it anywhere on CZcams. This knife is very interesting, especially the locking mechanism. It would be nice to see all the parts in detail.

Can the trainer take a working edge? Also, the trainer about the same weight and close to the same ratio/balance?
I doubt that it will hold an edge well if at all, I bet they use really low quality steel or aluminum on the trainer since it’s not meant to be sharpened
I'm not 100% sure on that, I wonder if anyone here on youtube has tried it and made a video about it.
Mine has the same month production date as yours. I didn't get the bandaid or Sour Punch though... I could have used it because I cut myself literally within an hour of unboxing it! Haha

Hi there! I wish I had spare ones to share with everyone who has asked but the truth is, I really enjoy practice with the trainer myself. Specially when it’s been a while since I last carried it. As for Reate, I don’t think they sell the trainer by themselves.
