Learning spins is one of the most fun and exciting parts of figure skating! The beautiful positions with amazing power make spins stand out on the ice. Now most skaters will have a favorite spin, but did you know that some skaters even have a favorite spin entry! It may help them with extra power, or more balance, what ever it might be, it happens to be their favorite.
In this lesson we're going to show you some different entries for your favourite spins. We look at what makes the entries different, as well as some key things you should remember the next time you're going to try them! This lesson is great for those skaters looking to try new entries as well as those who might need a refresher on how to make those entries sparkle.
As a bonus we have also shown how you can make all these entries look more exciting with some simple arm movements!
    In this lesson you'll learn:
    - The different spin entries we use on the ice
    - The mistakes and corrections to look out for on each entry
    - How to make the simple entries more exciting
    Happy Skating!

I have been struggling with my spin for so long ( a year!) finally you gave tips on how to go into the entry with better body movement that helps the lean on the outside edge! I m very keen to try it tomorrow.

thanks so much! When I watch other skaters spin at the rink it seems like some skaters tilt their head down when they spin, and I see that in all of your spin examples as well... almost like tucking their chin in... is there a compelling reason to do that or is it just stylistic?

Could you show us how to get a better lean and extension on backward and forward crossovers? Is it true the only way to get a lean into the circle for crossovers is if you have a lot of speed? When I cross one leg over the other I don't know how to stay low to create long extensions because I have to rise up in by legs to crossover the other leg.

    Hello,
Can I ask you, if you can support an idea to put hair spray on Edea skates? Your thoughts.
    Thank You

I’m guilty of not pressing on my outside edge when doing the wind up ( ̄▽ ̄;)
