- It’s too cold and snow outside to do much riding, so I’m taking the time to fix up my old Redline Proline Team 20 BMX bike! I built this thing custom with my dad many years ago, but haven’t ridden it in so long! I’m this video I cleaned it up, removed stickers, fixed the freewheel, and fixed up the brakes. It was a fun project, and now I can’t wait to ride this thing!!
My name's Tyler and I love mountain biking! I live in the Midwest United States (not typically known for great MTB riding) and I want people to know that us riders here in the Midwest are awesome too! We don't need huge downhill trails to have a good time! I just got a brand new 2021 Canyon Stoic 2, and this bike has got to be the best hardtail of the year! At least for the price. So I'd at least say the best budget-friendly hardtail of the year! I'm stoked to be able to share it with you guys. I'm also stoked to ride it this summer and let you guys know how it goes!
If you enjoyed this video free to like, comment, and subscribe. I really like making these videos and would be so pumped if the channel grew!
If you live in Southwest Michigan/Northwest Indiana (or really anywhere in the Midwest) let me know. I’d love to hear about any awesome mountain bike spots that you know of.
Cheers!
Tyler

Lots of fun memories with your dad!
Hey, we still want to see you riding this bad boy!
I did the same as you did with the freewheel on my 1989 specialized hardrock
I did a complete overhaul on the bike(pedals, headset, bottom braket, handlebar, seatpost, derailleur, crankset, 1 by conversion, brakes shifter ,wheels etc.) and even put new paint onto the bike
I dont do that as a job just for fun and i have the skills to adjust and bring everything together as it was new and im stoked about it
You could pack this thing into a cardbordbox and sell it as new, just clean like that it is
Man i love vintage mtbing and restorating stuff
That’s awesome dude! I’ve got an older GT Avalanche 26” that id love to get fixed up and riding good again. it’s a lot smaller than my current bike so I think it would be fun to use as more of a dirt jumper!
Remember me when you get a million subscribers.
You got it, clutch! 😎 Sorry for the slow reply, I had to take a break from the old CZcams for a few months bc life got too busy.
@@MidwestMountainBike Daang you actually responded, wow thats very impressive, btw congrats on 777 subscribers!
Hi add oil to cables .. springs
Still running the Canyon torquer I see. ;)
(Got my Stoic up and running with NS flatties, and routing the dropper was either lucky or much easier than feared over the crank.
But tires. I wonder if not a very good candidate for 'down country' instead of rough MM+HD. Didn't you find it a bit rough rolling too?)
Oh yea dude! I like that little tool, lol.
Yea I feel like the stock tires are a bit rough rolling. I love for the breaking power when I need it, but yea they’re a bit rough for smooth trails that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll try another tire at some point but they’re so dang expensive! haha
funny how this bike has alex rims and your stoic too
I know right! Actually same with my old GT Avalanche lol. Sorry for the slow reply man, I had to take a break from the old CZcams for a couple months, life was too busy. I’m back at it tho!
When are u gonna post again
Just did!! I’ll start posting again throughout the summer. Sorry for the delay, life got busy and the weather sucked for riding lol
Audio sucks
