    So basically you have a normal gasoline/diesel engine which drives the compressor shafts (bit like a supercharger?), which compresses the air. Am I correct? Then how about those air compressors on trains that switch on and off and make a really loud sound and vibration? Do they act the same way, or are they different?
    Very informative video nonetheless! I love watching these kinds of things. One day when I buy an air comp. I'll at least know how it works and appreciate it more, haha!

    I always wondered what those little Doosan trailer hitch units were. I guess I just assumed they were generators. This is interesting to know, especially here in L.A. where there are film shoots all over, with all their strange equipment and devices. They all seem rather mysterious until you find out what they do, and usually they are just generators or A.C. units.
    Can anyone tell me what the applications of a compressor like this would be used for? I stumbled onto this video by accident while I was looking for a technical explanation of the inner workings of more basic simpler compressors, like those used in fridges/freezers, to power nail guns, etc.

    • @nomoreheroes93
      @nomoreheroes93 Před 8 lety +5

      +PandaeD Not true at all, I studied fluid dynamics at University but check out Wikipedia's fluid dynamics page if you're not convinced. Water can be modeled as incompressible to simplify calculations, but in reality temperature and pressure are variables, which alters water's density; and consequently its volume.

    can you please explain how this pressurized tank which is last stage of compresing air..how it works?

    • @DoosanPortablePower
      @DoosanPortablePower  Před 10 lety +10

      Hello! The basic idea of the separator tank (each model varies slightly) is that when the oil and air mixture enter the separator tank, the mixture is forced through through a filter which makes the heavier particles (oil) drop to the bottom of the tank and the lighter particles (air) pass through and rise to the top and then going out to the tool. The oil which has fallen to the bottom of the tank is then taken and re-purposed in the machine. I hope this helps.

      All compressors do. If you squeeze 100 cubic feet of air into 10 cubic ft cylinder you also get the moisture in that 100 cu ft room squeezed into that 10 cu ft cylinder. Thats why they have a drain tap at bottom of the cylinder. That's also why scuba divers get thirsty after a dive. The moisture is pre-removed so they're breathing dry air.

  • @svetlanalovrinovic3928

    the engine turns on,the intake valve opens and the air flows in.

    @mustafa.cakmak Před 8 lety +2

    Sorry but screw does not compress the air inside the screws as in the animation. It shows that Animator and director of animation understanded a bit wrong the fundamental of air screewing process. screw captures a unit of air which is equal to the volume between one step of screw face and surrounding cylinder and the other screws face. and it pushes (i mean moves not squeezes) this volume into the outlet .

    Nice, would have been even better with oil séparation principle, really important, but this work already deserve thumb up.
    This would be great a similar work with séparator, knowing there are still lot of more ancient screw compressors that use outer filter, not exactly the same as enclosed one, about the few internet schematics or animation with outer séparateur it's just terrible, for this technologie nobody seems to know where oil go? schematic of air circuit are alright, showing air coming out clean, alleluia! but oil?? it has disappear as if by magic... those attempts copy past all ends to the point where internet editors can't go further, then lazy boy kick in and bet it's enough for ego and internet noobs, job done.... classic.
