I love the way the father has just handed this whole episode to the son. It's always heartwarming to see the baton being passed on from one generation to the next 😃 😊
The son speaks so clearly! It's so useful if you're learning Italian! And he's so invested in the tradition and artistry of his craft, it's lovely to see.
The shop is in good hands the son will run with the torch he seems made for this The son obviously loves what he’s doing I wonder if his son will have the same passion it’s awesome to see family owned restaurants succeed

The capitalizations of the letters made me read this correctly. So i have no complaints. Good comment. Carry on.
2-3 years to learn to make the shells. He’s so proud of his family tradition. That’s rare to find nowadays
I visited Sicily a few years back, and it's a MUST SEE. I'm just annoyed I never visited Piana degli Albanesi, and this charming shop, on my trip. Oh well, just another reason to go back!
The son is so friendly in energy or there is something that I want to be his friend 😅
The son is handsome.
I love how they speak Italian, easy to understand and I'm not even fluent in it
I as an Italian have to say that the son who presented all the proceedings, even being Sicilian, speaks very good standard Italian, without using Sicilian dialect (as is often the case sometimes). He could easily present something on television as well.
The dedication to truly amazing cannoli craft, nothing but respect.
I grew up in an Italian bakery but you can see they have a special way of making Cannoli I would love to visit them just to try one..maybe move permanently lol
The son is actually a really good video presenter!
By the way I as an Italian have to say that he even being Sicilian, speaks very good standard Italian, without using Sicilian dialect. He could easily present something on television as well.
That dude's such a pleasant dude!
The son is drop dead gorgeous 😍
@Liz Nonabiz he wants the cannoli. His cannoli XD
As he talks, Conan's voice echos in my head where he makes up random italian words in that melody :)))
The Cannolis in Sicily are amazing! We used to visit my relatives often and I remember one of my cousins in particular who would go to the countryside and buy the freshest sheep milk ricotta from the local shepards and drain it overnight and then make the filling. The shells were bought from a friend who owned a shop called " La Favorita". Absolutely delicious.
No ‘s’ on the end of cannoli. It’s already plural.
O.o
@@fishguy911 Just like panini, people use this word as a single object in English as other plural words not in English.
@@fishguy911 Lo so che sono plurale con la "i". l'ho scritto con la esse in una maniera inglese, va bene?
@@petera618 in English the plural would be cannolos.
_"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."_
I have several of my grandma’s things , her 100 plus year old Starter , her 1/2 cup measure which I have in my sugar , her pastry blender that has groves in the handle from her hand and her cast iron skillet. I love and cherish them all .
Tuve la suerte de probarlos hace muchos años en un viaje con amigos a sicilia. Insuperables!!
Sueño con estos canolli!!
As a kid, I enjoyed Cannoilis whenever we had a party at a restaurant, but one summer trip to Colorado, we were so burnt out from travelling that we stopped at a restaurant that served REAL Italian food where the staff was small but INCREDIBLY swift and the owner of his family-owned restaurant was so nice and made sure everyone was comfortable despite having to run around and serve us himself... he makes his Cannoilis from scratch and it was the best damn thing I have ever tasted! Definately recommend people go there! ^^
Props the editor at the 3min mark for matching the music with the shot.
“The recipe will never be revealed”
Proceeds explain in detail how much of each ingredient is added
right i just was thinking this ahah
I think he meant the wine mixture but idk
😂😂😂
😂🤣😂true that😆😁
We can get the guise of his grandfather recipe. Ha ha. Where am I gonna find so much lard
I always wonder how stressful it must be for families with amazing businesses like this who never have children or have children who don't wanna continue on with the business.
The finest are from Sicily. Bravo

If you have a good son like him you be happy. He still greets you at his age. And works
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I’m used to desserts in starred restaurants. But find very fascinating old style cannolos!!
such passion
These videos make my morning at work much better!
How ? Not being a hater just wanna know because I am not a morning person e.e
@@tubbymontana7090 I am not a morning person either. Wake up around 5:30 and in the office at 6:40 with nothing going on. Getting on a plane tomorrow. These look amazing. 😍
I appreciate these people. Hard working! 👍🏽
Whenever I think of the word Cannoli, I instantly think of the film "The Godfather", when Rocco says "Leave the Gun, take the Cannoli". 😂
I've never tried Cannoli before, but would like to.
It was Clemenza actually :)
It was actually Clemenza telling that to Rocco after they whacked Paulie ;)
Oh my god! You have to try it! Your life will have a Before Cannoli and After Cannoli!
I feel like the son is a walking hallmark movie
Bravo! Best eaten in the spring & winter when the ricotta is at its freshest.
Love how he says he can't reveal the recipe, then proceeds to explain in detail how to make his cannoli.
Bravo!!!! Never knew you could use wine instead of milk or water in making pastries... great idea!
Frying in lard 🤤 is already sound incredible
Thank you Pasticceria ExtraBar for sharing your awesome secrets with Us! Semper Fidelis!
Magnificent 👏🏼
Wonderful, I'm hungry for more 😋
I must include it in my bucket list.
Albanesi, Arbéresh, Shqipar! ♥️
Whaaaaaat? Looks beautiful
Holy Cannoli!
Just don't forget to be careful if a Corleone offers you some cannoli on your way to the opera.
Yummy, and the son is kinda cute.
This is my favorite dessert, but hard to find good ones.
Went to Sicily and had to make a detour to visit - amazing :)
The Father leaving his company in this Son's very good hands...happy delicious cannoli making !!!!
"Canolo is the most famous desert in the world" I don't think so🤔
What a humble guy...
Ive been to sicily amazing place and food esp cannoli
Eater does good food journalism
This is now on my bucket list. True artisans,
Maybe someone can answer a question of mine.
Grew up in Northeast U.S.
The Italian restaurant my father and I frequented got their canolli from a bakery in Philadelphia called Isgro..
Instead of ricotta, they use cream. Half chocolate/half vanilla. Heard one person refer to it as "pudding canolli".
The majority of the Italian bakeries I've visited use cheese. Does anyone know if there is a certain region in Italia that makes
these cream canolli or is it an American invention like duck sauce in Chinese restaurants?
Amazing.
Came for the cannoli, stayed for the Italian. I could listen to him speak for hours!
I missed this channel so much.
Cannolis are the absolute best dessert.
I dribbled 🤩🤤🤤🤤😍
& I do the walk-in "oh they dont have cannoli? Next shop..."
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE TRADITIONAL RECIPE 🇮🇹👨🍳 Ciao bella from London 🇬🇧🇯🇲🇧🇧

My favorite dessert ever.
tiramisu aint too shabby lol
@@id10t98 indeed.
Cannoli is also my favourite ever.
It’s nice to see that they use lard and not crappy seed oils like they would use in the US
Hi great vid loved it and we’ll produced and presented. Quick question. Can you post to England ?
ti apprezzo
The son...♡♡♡♡
Great. Now I want a cannoli
"a" cannoli??? I want the plural!
looks delicious
It seems like they have the same sense of dedications that Japanese craftsmen have.
Japanese are not the center of the world. There are passionate craftsmen on every country.
@@L2Willi I know. Just making comparisons. I could have said Germans or Swiss as well.
@@L2Willi he never said japanese is the center of the world, u need to chill the f up.
I think most are subjective, but seeing how entire shows or segments can be centered around Japanese, Italian & French cuisines are in fact very telling of how high a regard these nations have on their cuisines, and in a broader sense their culture.
@@juliansenfr Highly disagree. What these countries are doing better than others is promotion.
Totally secret recipe, but we use 5 kilos of flour, two cups of lard, four cups of sugar and this specific blend of red and white wine, looks like four gallons.
If a resturant fries with peanut oil or lard then you know its gonna be amazing
“I will never reveal the recipe!”
1 second later.
“Let me show you how to make it”
This statement made me lose brain cells.
Cannolis=Life
I want one ..look like it taste 👍
my first interaction with cannoli is actually godfather
Mmm thats some good cannoli :)
My heart sank when I saw the sons wedding band
I miss Sicily
Complimenti
Awesome
Very refreshing to see the som taking over these businesses. Usually in this area qnd even in my area these men hand off the job to their wives while they continue with their engineering degree or something similar
This great
"The recipe is a family secret.." Proceeds to explain the ingredients and the exact proportions.
"Leave the gun... _take the cannoli_ "
Mmm that is some great canolli. Ahhhh
I have no problems with secret recipes so long they are being passed down consistently and people can still get to enjoy the taste that was still made since its inception. But people who refuse to pass it on or young folks who refuse to learn; would have lost all that experience, history and taste of their legacy. One can call lost legacies to time.
Italian is such a lovely language 🥰😍🇮🇹
I don't think anyone would ever say the cannolo is the most famous dessert in the world. Cookies, cake, brownies, ice cream, pie--I can on and on before I ever would think of cannoli.
If they didn’t have chocolate chips I would love them
If they don't have the shell I will love it.
Mammamia sto sbavando 🤤🤤
I’ve only had one good cannoli my whole life and I’ve been chasing the dragon since
One could say the cannolo is the most famous dessert in the world...
It's delicious for sure, but don't push it mate LOLOL
I LOVE CANNOLIS
OMFG Luca is such a talented, adorable, and handsome young man 🤩😍🥵
Hello from Virginia 🇺🇸👍
Urgh. Im so jealous of everyone who understands Italian!! My eyes were so busy looking at everything they doing, I barely had time to read the subtitles!
A tip..... watch the video twice. First watch what they do in the video, and then read the subtitles. By the way I have to say as an Italian that the son, who presented the whole process, even being Sicilian, speaks perfect standard Italian, without using Sicilian dialect, as many Sicilians often do.
Clemenza would be happy
Arbëresh🇦🇱🇮🇹
Never had one before, seems like I am losing out on a lot
I’ve had one in a bookstore in America and it was amazing, i cannot imagine how the real one tastes. I’ll probably get addicted
Omg! Yous gotta get you some more cannoli! Heaven on earth!
Watch this at 0.5X Speed by adjusting the CZcams options? It becomes trippy as all-heck and also gives me time to read the subtitles
how does one eat a half kg cannoli? or is it shared? how is it shared
A half kilo is only about a pound. That's about 4 well-filled cannoli. I can and will eat that many no problem!
I would literally eat those shells empty and straight out of the oil lol
I wonder how many of their customers leave their guns as they take the cannoli
🤣
Been looking for that game forever, I'll get it one of these days😏
Hold my cannoli!
