Nice job! I'm a flight engineer on Sikorsky S70 helicopters, keep in mind that theory of flight for rotating blade aircrafts has a lot of detail and tricks you have to overcome in order to make this project and see it airborne! I'm sure it will be a total success my friend!
Thanks! I'll start with the basic. make tests, improve.. and so on. I think i can do it :)
Im a system test engineer with 12 years in aerospace and what I learned is that flight dynamics are junk science . Get your L/D and balance correct and just start flying and gain tuning . No simulation had accurately modeled the the details shown in rotor dynamics .
Классный проект 👍
No need to fear flying contraptions. You can actually design model aircraft by gut feeling and estimation. You can get almost anything airborne if you use common sense. The fun is making it efficient.
Flight dynamics is only important when you are pushing the limits of weight and strength of your material while having room for a safety margin. As there is no pilot onboard this thing and there is not millions of dollars invested in the test aircraft, you have the ability to try, fail and learn. @@dsanti4069
Learning by doing 👍
madman, making it all in blender. What a legend!
He explained helicopter mechanics better than any other expert video❤
:)
It's great that you are still making videos! For me this is as enjoyable as your more polished videos. I understand that you have limited time, so it definitely would be great, if you would make more videos like this rather than none at all. What comes to the project, it is interesting to see if the resin prints have enough strength to fly. I myself have stayed away from resin printing due to the mechanichal weakness of resin printed parts, although they have great resolution.
Thank you for not giving up regardless of low views and still producing videos.
Btw thank you for this video. Waiting for your finished sla printer project
Thanks! Soon!
Very impressive project. I can't even imagine how much work it will take in the end to get to this to work.
Sorry to hear you're having CZcams trouble! I hope you are able to continue as I learn and enjoy, watching your channel!
Congratulations on your becoming a father too! I know the feeling of burnout! 😅
Thanks for the message 😊
Very complicated mechanism, well done sir !
Love your content. Watch it every week. Hope CZcams treats you better.
please keep posting videos, i have been seeing your channel throughout the lockdown, for about 3-4 years now. i really appreciate the diy aspect of it. thankyou for this knowledge. also, wish you and your family a happy new year and merry christmas. congrats for being a father.❤
That explanation of the swashplate and back rotor was brilliant!
Thank you, this helped me understand how a helicopter rotor works. Best wishes with the algorithm. I like your content!
Thanks so much!
Valeu! O conteúdo do seu canal vale muito, esse é o melhor canal de tecnologia, maker, diy, etc... que eu conheço.
Oh, muchas gracias por tan bonito mensaje. Saludos!!!!
Congratulations for all you do!
Keep going because you're doing good. Thank you for the wonderful explanations!
Happy Holidays!
I had been on the lookout for this exact idea for inspiration for my college project especially the 3d printed rotor masts. Keep up the good content
Nice piece of work, in there! Thank you!
As if did not have to many flying toys as it is. Now u got me printing a new one 😂
Glad to hear you're a father 😀 congratulations man 🙂👍💕
Dear CZcams, we as an audience definitely like this kind of content! Please let the people who makes this type of content (including me, gne gne) not be affected by your algorithm. Because STEM educational video's are helping everyone learn from each other and ultimately improve the world we live in. A phone dropped from 2 stories does not. Thanks on behalf of all makers on youtube!
Amazing engineering!!
Love it 🎉
That's so cool. I have been wantig to do something simmilar for a long time.
Can't wait to see it fly :)
Love it. Great work. Best of the best my friend. 👌👌👌
Awesome project! I liked the format of this video. Happy Holidays.
Happy holidays!
Great Job Bro! Keep Going!💪
I was waiting long time for such that video. thanks bro
Looking forward to the next video, and to see if the resin can handle the forces.
Love the channel! Congratulations on becoming a Dad God bless you and your family!!!
Wow. Pretty challenging design. Great job. Keep the hard work. Love your videos
Simple and clear explaination . Thank you 👍
Looking forward to this project.....
What an undertaking! Amazing job my friend!
Don't forget about gyroscopic precession when you're programming the flight controls. If you want the helicopter to fly forward, the main rotor disk needs to tilt left or right, not forward. Left or right depends on clockwise vs counter clockwise rotation. 👍
no worries he uses servomotor instead of mechanical linkage it's gonna be tweaked easily via software eh
Thanks for the tip. Yeah i might have placed the control in the wrong direction in the video...
@@ELECTRONOOBSI figured you may have just been simplifying the concept. But I wanted to mention it if you weren't aware. I flew helos for 8 years 🙂👍
@@mcorrive12 any of those helis was 3D printed? :)))
@@ELECTRONOOBS LOL, no, Sikorsky hadnt adopted 3D printing yet! 😄
Amazing Project. The design of rotor assembly should be interesting
Congratulations! It sucks that CZcams is making this changes but in the end what counts is the views. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Can't wait to see this helicopter flying!
This looks like it will be very interesting when done.
It was amazing explanation i always wondered how does helicopter move from its position
Thanks for this great video, and concerns the algorithm, you are right,it is not like before, that is my opinion as well.i wish you all success, thanks again for sharing.
Waiting for the made in-flight video....
Sir please make a video of its flight controller.
I had started making this project 2 months ago and got stuck in the programming and the Arduino flight controller
Please don't stop making this series
You was the first who made my interest of mine in electronics
You are the best electronics explainer I have ever seen
Thank you for this video :)
Crazy project
Wow, such a difficult project is designed and explained so easily!
Great work on this video.
Such an awesome explanation video! Even though I've seen the angle stuff both in real life and on RCs and all that, I never knew it worked like this. I always thought you tilted the helicopter forward to go forward. Of course, there are probably helicopters that you have to do that also, I don't know.. but you explained perfectly how this type of design works! Thank you! ❤
All your videos are so amazing, you always have something new and cool to watch, I can't imagine how much work that must be for you. Awesome work! For me, I sometimes have to visit your channel to find your videos, I don't always get them in the feed. I have the bell and full notifications on, but that happens to some channels, I don't know why and it is really sad because I only subscribe to channels I love. I hope it gets fixed soon for you!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄✨❤
Thanks so much! Notification never works! Happy holidays as well!!!
Your content is best
One of the best channel on youtube for this types of content and learning i will always supports you
Love from india
I'm sure it will fly but I'm not sure how durable it will be. You can only do so much with resin plastics but there's new compounds coming out all the time to address these limits.
Awesome attempts and good explanations. Although I am a bit afraid of the forces which will be applied to the 3D-printed resin-parts, it looks very cool.
Awesome project!
for the record im 12 and i understand all of the things this man is sayin and now i wanna build a hellicopter myself thx for the inspiration gret vidio by the way
keep up the work
Thanks 👍
Keep it up
very informative video.
Great explanation of how helicopters work.
I wish I could print it with my SLA printer but it would immediately blow up :)
Nice swasholate. And it’ll be a collective pitch so you’ll be able to fly inverted :) I may have to make one myself!
Nice thank you
Don’t worry your content is very good
Thank you so much
Great video keep it up hope yt algorithm fixes n merry Christmas
Great video
Answering your question about other options for the circular part with a hole for the bearing, you can use the 3D printer and use a material called PCCF filament.
Great Work thank you
23:52 it's changing bro I just got it recommended and CZcams just tests for some time don't worry. By the way amazing explanation ❤
Excellent! I have subscribed.
I have flown RC helis since 1986.
Schluter, GMP, Excell and everything until present day .
Blade holders and hub look kinda weak/strength. Glass nylon injected are quite beefy. Luv this. Best regards !
Great work's! 👍
Love your channel - but I think you are right with your opinion
Thanks for the great content
Nice job.. best of luck
wow!! Nice
Wow, that thing has a prop diameter of four bananas.
nicely done and explain. Minecraft torch 😀
take care of yourself, happy holidays :)
cool!
you missed one thing about the rotor cyclic control... the moment is applied at 90 degree (+-~5 degrees) from your maximum angle of attack position... so if you want to go forward your maximum angle of attack should be on the right (assuming clockwise rotation)... this because of the rotor dynamic response (lagged response): you rotor response at 90 degrees after you apply max pitch... so your body pitch and roll will be switched...
yeah i might have not given the best explination there... sorry
actually no, it's not always 90 dgrees, it's much more complicated than that
@@antonioesposito8071 i already wrote (+-~5 degrees), its called swash phase lag... actually, its not "much more" complicated... all the helis i worked with or built simulators for fall in this range... depend on blade properties , hinge type etc...but nothing that a pilot cant trim or compensate for...
Great video! Thanks
Happy holidays ☃
Thanks so mcuh and happy holidays to you too!
Love your videos man. By the way I do think you need to add another axial bearing together with the trust bearing on the rotor blade connector..
nice work
Make 12 channel Lora transmitter and receiver range about 100km
Great video!
Such smol resin parts don't seem like they would have the sheer/tensile strength necessary to make your rotor/swash parts. I hope you are able to find the right shape/ material. Have your considered fiberglassing a shell onto the printed parts?
Great video 🙌
felecidades, congrats papa electronoobs! My little girl is almost 2, yes my hobby time has 📉 but I love learning, and you never stop learning with a baby! Your baby is lucky to have such a cool and intelligent parent!
Great video!! Awesome project as well :)
The only thing I might add is that you sometimes talked about the same thing 2-3 times, which could be exhausting for some and lead to them leaving the video. That doesn't bother me luckily, but I could see how someone might be bothered.
Other than that, AWESOME!!!
An interesting video and project. I look forward to seeing this project some more in the future.
I did have a thought. Before the algorithm changed when you used to get more views, were those greater number of views from subscribers? I'm subscribed to a lot of CZcams channels so that I can see what content they put out. But the only channels I watch without fail are your videos, GreatScott, Mark Rober, and Jlaser. The rest I only watch the videos that interest me. So perhaps it could be something similar here. That still doesn't change the fact that CZcams apparently changed the recommendation part of its algorithm.
In any case, I completely understand having to take a step back and post less. We all get burnt out. It's amazing you find the time with a newborn. As I said in your other post, I've got a 7-week old myself. Just finding the time to get anything done is a struggle.
Great Video
like ur job bro
You are printing in resin, but can it also be printed with filament? I don’t know if you use specific design principles.
Wow !!!!
Wow
extra!!!thanks...
You're not the only one it just surprises me. I even tried downloading some of the plug-ins. Which ones do you use for precision? Because, honestly, there are a few projects I'd like to use blenders more "free wheeling" modeling for, but worry about precision…?
Are you talking about Blender plugins? I don't use any... Just simple Blender ..
@@ELECTRONOOBS I think maybe you should at least try fusion. Free for makers (I don't think that applies to you but at least you could try it) I don't know how you're doing this in blender but you could do it LITERALLY 10 times faster. not to mention iterating would be quicker because you can just set a parameter i.e.… .4 mm not enough clearance, change all/or certain features to .6.
Ultimately, whatever works for you is best… Just a friendly piece of advice !
where can i download the model... i have been dreaming of this... thank you
Awesome video, I would say that something like "Ingenious main rotor of helicopter mechanism explaind on 3D printed model | I'm making a fully 3D printed RC Helicopter with Arduino" as name of video may work better for clicks and therfore for algorithm. And also I thing that the watchtime is important for algorithm more than comments and likes.
You have a great channel. Perhaps more comments will help you with the CZcams algorithm.
Hi. Nice job so far. But if i can give u 2 tips, mini servos is strong enough for those size blades. Not to sure if the ones u showed is that size. And tip nr2. Your blades grips. It would be better to have 2 normal bearing about 7 or 8mm appart and then a thrust bearing. This wil prevent stability and blade tracking issues. But anyways. Cant wait to see the first flight. Good luck.
Grate content
I'm here to fight the algorithm! Just watched your other video. I didn't know you were struggling si mich with the views.
This is amazing!
However can the screws be also 3d printed!
dont think so... :)
Don't worry man. I am with you always as a fan. Every Sunday I came to your channel and checking any new videos that you have uploaded or not to see your new videos❤. I thought to contribute some money from India. But if it converts to your doller then it will only offer for cup of coffee.
Sir what is the size of swashplate bearing size
The 8-bit guy said the same thing about his CZcams views recently. And yea, sorry. Honestly, I forgot about your channel until it was recommended just now.
