    Your plants are looking so awesome, Jim. 😍
    Kingswood Torch is one of my favorite varieties because the electric coral color in the center is almost neon, it’s so bright. I love it so much.
    The La Rambla rooting looks like it will take off no problem for you. It’s kind of a smallish variety but so beautiful. So excited to watch all your gorgeous coleus plants grow this season. 😁
    That spitfire is so pretty! I want it!!! 😊

      I love the spitfire!! The kingswood torch I had last year went to seed so I had sown a number of seeds which came true....but also what's really cool...I have a few Empire Kongs which developed the Kingswood color but with the Empire Kong foliage.

      Thanks Mike. I think they will be good. At this point it's keeping the squirrels away or replanting them if partially dug up. But I think the planters will look awesome too

    Yea we had a fierce storm come through this morning. I was prepared and moved all my plants to a sheltered area. All were safe after it was over.

      The rest of the country is getting slammed especially Tornadoes. Glad we rarely get them.

    Your cuttings look amazing! I have kept some for the past 2 years to plant in the spring. Last year, they died about 1 week after putting in soil. This year, I decided to start them in a smaller pot to bring them inside at night so the weather doesn't shock them (thought that is what happened last year). Its been about 5 days and these are looking like theyre not going to make it either. I used fertilizer. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I guess I will stick with seeds. Those work for me.

      That's too bad. I've had pretty good luck keeping mine going after potting outdoors....but I do lose a few....mostly the smaller more tender varieties. Next year try moving them outside later and dont use the fertilizer right away. Perhaps it's burning the roots.

      It's got craaazy almost Neon Color. I hope it goes to seed. But I'm going to keep a few of my Jitters near it when they go to seed in hopes I can crosspollinate

    🤎💗🌱Almost sprayed the row of "growth" in our Central FL garage door until I realized they were Coleus. (Which frustratingly look way better than my pampered seed trays.) Going to try to move the rainbow ones into container homes.

    Do coleus seeds grow true to the parent plant?

    • @Jimswholiestofcoleus
      @Jimswholiestofcoleus  Před 3 měsíci

      Great question. I try my best to isolate each of my varieties to minimize the cross pollination but some may occur. Plus other exciting things happen that may vary the Coleus. If you saw my videos I've hand pollinated a Saturn Rings and so far the offspring seeds are true to the mother

    when you root a cutting in a glass water, do you use rooting powder ahead or just straight to water?

    • @Jimswholiestofcoleus
      @Jimswholiestofcoleus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      GREAT QUESTION!! By nature of Coleus' ease to Root....Dint waste your money on root hormone. Some plants may need it. Even placing a Coleus cutting directly into moistened soil Root Hormone not needed. They are PROLIFIC Rooters!!
