- Lisa Simpson is pretty well known for being a vegetarian. But what if I told you that she's not a vegetarian at all? She LOVES meat and I have the evidence to prove it. Today we investigate Lisa's eating habits in this episode of... Dark Simpsons Mysteries!
So this video was based on the pepperoni clip, i saw that and wondered if i could create a narrative around Lisa eating meat. I was able to find quite a few clips of Lisa having meat on her plate lol, boy, i sure hope somebody got fired for those blunders. And then combine that with my Dark Simpsons experience and BAM! A new Dark Simpsons Mystery was born.

Paul McCartney really should have sang a song for Lisa that would have prevented this video from ever happening
Paul: dont eat pork, not even with a fork... cant touch this!
@@nousukas U Can’t Touch This!
Paul McCartney ruined Lisa
@@dissonanceparadiddleyes he did
@@dissonanceparadiddle Even before she went vegetarian, Lisa was always the wisest, most compassionate and smartest person on the show. Quitting meat was only logical for her. The only thing that didn't make sense is that she settled for being vegetarian, when going vegan is the only ethical option for those who can do it. Hmm...maybe Apu was the wisest!
Animators: we don't need to be 100% consistent, no one will notice
Simpsons fans:
Did you see that itchy and scracthy episode where itchy played scratchys ribscage like a xylophone and the sound was all off?!
@@soursimpsons boy, I hope someone got fired for that blunder
If he got fired, it probably wasn’t for that.
This was Not a accident...
Well... this certainly casts Bart's "You ate meat, you ate meat!" taunt in a different light, and I love it.
Those who live with glass "hot dogs" shouldn't throw stones...
Haha i tried to use that clip too! But it didn't fit the narrative
Also, there's a scene where she was anxious for Homer to cook his pet lobster because she said and I quote:
"I just like the smell."
which is sus for somebody who thinks eating animals is wrong and that was an 90s ep (classic lisa)
"No, but I enjoy the smell."
@@aprioriontoast704 not to mention most of her campaign involves finger pointing and lecturing people about how awful they are for cooking animals.
Haha, she enjoys animal suffering but won't eat them... that's like hunting for sport
@@soursimpsons Like Elmer Fudd.
As a vegetarian myself I can tell you, it's not easy to become vegetarian, if people cook for you, especially your family. Most non-vegetarian people don't know, how to cook without meat. So we often go for the less "harmfull" choice in our eyes. Like when Lisa had the spaghetti with meatballs and sauce on her plate, we would eat the sauce and spaghetti, or you could starve yourself... Alot of household don't let their children to cook for themselves and not everyone is so well off to afford throwing out food.
I hear ya, I tested going vegetarian before and i found the hardest part was just knowing what to cook.
Try Indian food. it has many vegetarian options.
It was in plain sight.
Just ask Bart and his poor hot dog.
She sure likes hotdogs... and cake now too
Lisa's always been a "humanitarian" - but did you really think about what that meant??!
And that wasn't really a cake! - Perhaps it was like a creamed hobo pie, getting creative in preparing cuisine. But how will they celebrate Arbor Day now??...
Definitely not cake lol
Lisa starts with the best part...the neck!
1:40 I want to notice that in several episodes Lisa is shown eating non-meat things such as mashed potatoes or spaghetti along with meat products on the same plate such as meatballs or steak or drumsticks, but she’s not shown eating the meat, but rather eating the non-meat food. The meat may be on her plate, but that doesn’t mean she has to eat it. On the other hand, Lisa also ate meat (specifically, chicken) in a Church’s Chicken ad from 1996. “Lisa the (Supposed) Vegetarian” came out in _1995._
Ooo, that's interesting, that chicken ad would've been great!
Well, Marge doesn't like to change her cooking habits. There was an episode where Homer was away from home for a long time for some reason, and she still cooked the same amount of food as if he was there. Bart asks if she couldn't just make less food, and she says "I don't do things that way. You'll just have to learn to eat your father's share". (Edit: just noticed that the scene I'm talking about is shown at 1:54)
So it would make sense that she would still serve Lisa the usual plate regardless if she eats everything on it.
It doesn’t count if it is church’s
What is the show is still on the air after Paul McCartney dies? Then what? And what if he gives up vegetarianism before that point? Would they still be beholden to the agreement from when he appeared on the show? That episode has Apu in it, so that’s also going to ricochet back in its direction like the bullet off his chest in the James Woods episode.
@@Attmay Paul McCarthy been dead for a while?
I was always suspicious that Lisa was up to something bad, but I never thought she went this far. It's a good thing you cracked the case on this one!

Paul McCartney surely has grounds to sue the show for not keeping Lisa vegetarian.
Lol, i wonder what he thought of the bug eating episode
Thanks for proving Paul Joseph Watson right.
Fox/Disney/Whoever would argue that any of those things she was shown eating were not made of real meat, but were vegetarian substitutes like Beyond Meat™ or tofu or whatever.
I agree. Paul McCartney will see you in court, Groening!
I think Matt Groening lied to Paul and Linda McCartney just so he can get them on his show. Paul said he would lend his voice on the show if they would keep Lisa a vegetarian for the entire series, not just one episode.
How about a "what if" series? Theories about what could of been? Like what if Smithers shot Mr burns? Or what if Maggie could talk? Idk but I'm sure many of your followers would have numerous ideas with the subject. What do you think?
How would Maggie, a baby, be able to talk? By using some kind of a scifi machine?
@@patu8010 that's why it's called "WHAT IF" 🙄 and she has talked before.
That's interesting, but not sure how I'd make a video of it. Let me write it down, maybe some ideas will come to me in the future.
@@technerdgaming9259 I'm just making a joke because they have such a machine in one episode
@patu8010 oh my mistake 😅 damn I should have caught that
Boy,I hope someone got fired for that blunder
You bet! Lol
It all started in the sensory deprivation tank, when she saw Homer's four-meat sandwich (bacon, Canadian bacon, Mexican bacon, and a mouthwatering veal chop) through his eyes. After that she was hooked.
That did look pretty good... lol
Enough is enough. Now I really couldn't justify not being a patreon any longer.
The Dark Simpsons Mysteries are beyond superb!
A huge thank you for taking the time to create them!
I appreciate it, thank you for the support!
I was waiting for the clip of Mr. Burns saying that gelatin is made from hooves.
Dang! Forgot about that one
@@soursimpsons Also "You won't eat our meat, but you'll glue with our feet"
in those episodes where she seemed to be eating the spaghetti and meatballs, the drumstick and the steak, she only seems to be eating the mashed potatoes and not the meat which in my theory means she just leaves the meat leftovers to her dad to eat
And she always holds a spoon to eat and not a fork because you can’t eat steak, spaghetti and meatballs or drumsticks with a spoon. so that could also mean that I’m right but I might not be
I hear what you're saying, but there's no reason to have meat on your plate, especially while having dinner at home.
1:47 I looked it up and even in production order that episode was produced after Lisa supposedly became a vegetarian. The production code of "Lisa the Vegetarian" is 3F03 and "Homer the Smithers" is 3F14. But like you said before, it's possible the team that worked on "Homer the Smithers" didn't know about "Lisa the Vegetarian" despite coming from the same season and production cycle.
Yeah haha, its quite interesting finding these minor blunders
I haven't watched enough Simpsons to know the context, but there's something really sweet about Bart bribing Chief Wiggum to get Lisa a nice cell.
Haha, that's just a random joke, no real context behind that.
Also that Bart already knows where the nicer cells are! And that bribery works for Wiggum!
That's why she enjoys Bart's hotdog so much.
I like footlongs
@@soursimpsons So does Juicy Sommelier.
STOP IT, STOP IT, PLEASE I BEG YOU!!!
I'm always curious about the real location of Moe's. It was next to the church, next to the Simpsons house, and next to King Toot's Music Store.
Thats an interesting one, springfield changes quite a bit, I'll add it to the notebook
Did Apu learn her dark secret? Is that what really happened to him?
Oh jeez! It totally makes sense!
I thought Apu went into hiding after Sour Simpsons found out he killed his twin brother
I will also point out she hasn't totally divorced herself from many other things ultra strict vegetarians/vegans often do. She still seem okay wearing leather (her day to day shoes are plastic, but I assume the ones she wears with her sunday church clothes aren't, ditto a lot of the other pairs she has worn from time to time throughout the show. She still will eat conventional sugar (many vegetarians won't as it might be refined with bone charcoal.)
It's no so different from the fact that, while she is a committed Buddhist now, she still consumes onions, garlic and other things really observant Buddhists won't.
Did know know that about the buddhists. Learnt something new!
@@soursimpsons It's called "The Doctrine of the Five Angry Vegetables.". Many Buddhists will also not eat mangoes, due to some incident where a village fought over the supply.
Orthodox Buddhist cooking is sort of complicated. One tenet is that any food should be considered no better than any other food (usually as "The is no difference between a watery soup and a creamy soup.) Since Early Buddhist view on refraining from harming other living things extended to disturbing the soil, for a while they prohibited farming or using anything that would require farming. A lot of these laws have loosened up quite a bit (especially in places where Buddhism became the dominant religion, as strict observance basically would set communities up for inevitable starvation.), but, at times, they got a bit tricky.
i want to bring to attention the episode where homer adopts a lobster. lisa states she's still a vegetarian, but she's completely okay with pinchy being cooked because she likes the smell. someone who really WAS vegetarian for the animals would've sided with homer!
Yes! Totally shouldve included that
It could be worse. She could have become a me-gan like Homer. At least this way, she's turned her problem into a positive for the community.
Lol, there's a solution! Release the cannibals!
I find it quite hypocritical how Lisa was (temporarily) okay with eating arthropods (such as insects and arachnids) despite the fact that they are still animals. The worst part about this is that episode also has Lisa making an insect farm for the sole purpose of killing and eating them (which goes beyond just eating dead insects and arachnids). If Lisa only became a vegetarian just because she didn’t want to eat animals, why would she be perfectly fine with not only eating insects, but even directly farming and killing them?
There was a joke in an episode where bart shot a sausage into lisas mouth, i thought that crossed a line
@@soursimpsons Sweet Home Alabama
Vegetarians eat fish 🤷
@@quit-rt4vzI thought that was a presbetarian.
Lunchlady Doris showed her how to work the system. Lisa: I promised Paul McCartney that I would never eat animals... Doris: So what, I promised Paul that I would never sleep with John.
I was working on something unrelated when a possible idea for another mystery popped into my head, I decided I would drop what I was doing and pose it to you for consideration: In an earlier episode ( might have been the one where Burns sells the plant to the Germans ) Lenny blows his stock earnings on plastic surgery and can be seen grinning from ear to ear due to the Botox and such. It fades to commercial break with Lenny lamenting "This is the worse day of my life" still grinning through the supposed Botox. In the very next scene that fades in from commercial, the usual crew is sitting around Moe's lamenting about how they can't be replaced due to the importance of their roles at the plant, and in this scene Lenny is back to his usual ( bearded ) and emotive self. A 1 off joke? Or was he faking getting the services performed? We see contradictory instances where Lenny is depicted in expensive suits, living in squalor ( please don't tell anyone how I live ) and being a loser barfly who also has on 1 account been shaving a woman's leg while on the phone with Homer. And for that matter, what's up with him and Carl, Carl having mentioned having a family once before? Either way, there seems to be an awful lot of buzz around Lenny...
Haha interesting... a lenny centric mystery sounds like a great idea. I'll add it to the list
I did a experiment on myself with a all vegetable and fruit diet. No meat or carbs for five days. I was going insane especially with my job at a fast food restaurant. At least I lost five pounds in the process.
I did that for a week too! I found the hardest part was just finding good recipes.
I'm glad you seemingly Mey your goal.
I would never do that, I'd always want to implement legumes, nuts, seeds etc...
People love to hate on Lisa because of what she’s like in the later seasons, but she was so good in the earlier ones and it sucks that people forget that. The show needed a voice of reason that called out how ignorant the rest were, how people don’t listen to the informed and do what they want to do and believe what they want to believe, which is an important part of the satirization of society at the time. The show made strong points about environmentalism, veganism, feminism, faith and religion through her. She was a strong and consistent character that didn’t care about what others thought of her, she only cared about speaking her truth.
This is a bit long, it’s just that I care because I looked up to Lisa so much as a kid and I believe much of my critical thought was influenced by the simpsons and especially her storylines.
I hear ya. Definitely mistreated by the fans.
I agree
you can get mock meats I suspect it's lazy animators but with newer Eps of Lisa she is more sus about her values.
Though by only season 10 she was seemed annoyed Homer didn't boil alive his pet Lobster because she "likes the smell" which is sus for somebody who thinks eating animals is wrong .
Mock meats don't taste anything like the real thing, and I doubt Marge would buy them.
Haha yeah it can definitely be mock meat, but that seems like a lazy excuse.
Lisa's a vegetarian not because she dislikes the taste of meat per se, but to grandstand her morality. She refuses to eat meat because she wants to look like a good, upstanding person who doesn't hurt innocent little animals, and she wants YOU to know that she is. But a good person doesn't need to proclaim that they are good; their actions speak for them. The louder someone is about their virtues, the more skeletons they are hiding in their closet. Or in Lisa's case, buried in a hole in the Simpsons' backyard, which due to its eldritch nature, makes for a convenient spot to hide inconvenient human remains.
I blame that little lamb, its all his fault!
@2:04 - Good point.
@2:42 - On the other hand...
@5:48 - The people of Springfield don't really care about what Lisa was doing, they feel she's "cleaning up" the town.
But, y'know, it is against the law, and we gotta take her in for this, we'd look bad if we didn't.
@6:13 - Not surprising, either.
Haha, yeah springfields stance on crime is pretty soft
This is kind of irrelevant, but some vegans believe that eating mussels, clams, and oysters is acceptable; even though they are animals, their nervous systems are too primitive to facilitate anything like conscious thought, so they can't feel pain in any meaningful way.
Some "vegetarians" might (similarly with insects, remember that episode with Lunchlady Doris?), but "vegans" wouldn't eat anything that comes from or exploits animals.
@@matthewwelch4305 But if the argument against eating meat is that it causes pain and suffering, then an animal that is too simple to feel pain should slip through. After all, how is eating such an animal any morally different than eating a plant of fungus that is also too simple to feel pain in any meaningful way?
There was actually an episode about that, except with bugs!
@@micahbush5397 Vegans also don't "exploit" or consume animals in any way. A vegetarian may eat honey, but vegans don't because that's keeping and exploiting bees. So eating (or wearing) any actual animal tissue would be right out for them.
Wiser vegans point out that there's no way to completely avoid killing animals - eating only vegetable products when countless small animals are always killed when growing and harvesting crops, or even just when walking around. So their goal should be better stated as not "eliminating" all killing and exploitation of animals, but minimizing it by not taking actions that directly harm animals.
Then technically they have to drink 100 percent purified water, so the poor microorganisms don't get swallowed
I wonder if she killed and ate Graggle.
Is that where he went?!
@@soursimpsons Couldn't you say there's a little bit of Graggle in all of us?
1:51 exhibit b can be explained. You said it yourself it was only 12 episodes after Lisa became vegetarian. It's 12 episodes after in Canon 12 episodes released after, However it's very possible that these episodes were meant to be released before she became vegetarian. When an animation releases a full season in the style that The Simpsons does where they are pretty much working on the whole season in advance and trying to get all episodes done, some episodes end up being released earlier or later than the order that they actually finished making the episodes.
A prime example that actually a lot of Simpsons fans know of is season 1. Yes the first episode ever released was when they got Santa's Little helper, but it's been proven that the first episode that they ever finished was actually the one with the babysitter who was a criminal but instead that episode was like the 6th to be released or something.
Haha absolutely, i know different teams work on different episodes at the same time too, so it's possible the animators didn't know about the other episode currently being worked on.

What you’ve essentially done is recapped the French-Belgian horror film Raw and imposed the story beats of that film onto Lisa

"meat juice" I have forgotten that detail and it makes sense of why Lisa would eat meat sometimes. sooo it's her own mother's fault. but than again the doctor told lisa the less meat she eats the less iron she has in her body. even animals in real life were smart enough to realize that. that's why every once in awhile plant eaters would eat bones and a few other things.
Indeed. Marge sabotaged her efforts all this time.

It was later revealed that Marge spikes Lisa's food with the juices from various meat products.
Technically, not eating meat does not prohibit her from partaking in the numerous bounties of the sea, as those are fish and crustaceans.
The word you're looking for is pescatarian
technically, fish and crustaceans are meat/flesh. people choose to overlook this for various reasons, the two most common being 1) to obtain proper protein and 2) they have less or no objections (typically moral or environmental) to eating fish.
My sister tried that in college, but still couldn’t resist the allure of discount chicken wings on Tuesday.
Brilliant work as always... but as for Exhibit C at 2:18, it gives me no pleasure to say... your DEDUCTION, was FAULTY! There exists a kind of algae from which a gelatin-like substance called agar-agar (or just agar in the West) can be produced, and which is predominantly used in South East Asia to make jelly and assorted gelatinous desserts. You might also be able to produce a jello with fruit pectin, but I don't know if that could create a product as stable as Ella Fitz-Jello. So Lisa probably used one of those to hide her cannibalism from prying eyes.
How dare you question Springfield's greatest detective?! 🤣🤣🤣 Lol of course you can explain it away, there's also fake meat, but where's the fun in that hahaha
@@soursimpsonsHaha I mean, a drumstick is pretty difficult and pointless to fake, I'd have thought. But honestly the reason I wrote the comment is that I'd just read another comment here, about someone who felt like they had seen the matrix because they had never realized gelatin is made from animals, and I felt bad for that person. Maybe all the jello they ate was alga-y and not carcass-y.

@soursimpsons No I still prefer not...
Remember when Lisa had Bart’s hot dog? And touching Ralph in his special area? Those already confirmed that Lisa wasn’t vegetarian.
And Ned's footlong!
@@soursimpsons Not in the face
Yoooo she pushed a vagebond under a trolley that explains a lot this theoroy actually seems plausible
There's no limit to her madness!
Well, Lisa Simpson did eat Bart's hot dog...
And Ned's footlong...
@@soursimpsons The evidence just keeps piling up against Lisa the Cannibal
Front Facing Lamb is kinda cursed.
Haha damn that lamb!
She’s also seen eating chicken wings in an 1996 advert for Church’s Chicken (now known as Church’s Texas Chicken).
Haha I'll have to look that up. But i assume that was before she became a vegetarian.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
That went from 1 to 100 real quick. Don't know what I expected. Lol😅
Haha, i'll go to 200 next time!
Counterpoint to Exhibit C, the Jello:
You can make Jello with vegan alternatives to animal-based gelatin, such as cornstarch, agar agar, and xanthum gum... to name a few.
You quite literally CAN have vegan Jello.
Lisa did not specify, nice try
Blue Truth:
It was never said or implied that it plant-based jello. While it can be argued that the real source of that jello in in limbo, her secretive meat-consumption points it to being meat-based.
Also we have never seen her handling plants to process it. Based on the video alone, she is handling meat which can argued that some of it was made in jello!
But how do you explain all her new friends?!
This chananel is under rated, another great video.
Thank you! It's still young. Hope to build it up over the next few years
Agreed.
Missing Lisa eat egg was cooking by Marge
(S12E16)
Some vegetarians eat eggs, different rules for different people. Like apu doesnt eat cheese.
@@soursimpsons Really Lisa didn't eat eggs like avians thanksgiving with tofu and some insects because still need 80% proteins because Lisa no longer iron blood cause be seizures
So what if she ate eggs? She's vegetarian not vegan.
probably the animators forget about lisa
Everybody does 😅
Remember the Halloween episode with the extra bart in the attic?
Bart's twin was never seen again
Lol thats a strange topic because it is non cannon
@@soursimpsons lol true 😅 idk why CZcams didn't notify me sooner
Gelatin isn't always made from animal products. They have veggie versions
Yeah, they have veggie versions for everything now.
Todd Flanders was 30 years ahead of the curve in not wanting his damn vegetables.
No bible stories for him tonight!
The next weird thing in Springfield is why Homer is dumb
The crayon in his brain lol
It shouldn't be too much of a surprise. It was the best cover for her crime.
Always knew she had a dark secret
4:03
Look, another bizarre Simpsons front-face for the next compilation.
Lol, lots more of that to come
0:49 is that Graggle??!???!
🤫
I think Lisa was a vegetarian because she was paranoid of food poisoning
Lol food poisoning is no laughing matter
Finally, the streets of Springfield are safe again. No more cannibal lurking the night.
Yeah, but the homeless run the nights!
I love your work. Excellent 😊
Thanks for watching!
Dose this mean lisa will be in season 3 of yellowjackets as the izzard queen I hope soo
I need to watch that show lol
Paul McCartney would not be happy.
😄👍
