- Hello! Welcome to this episode of TritonTv where I fix my broken galaxy S7 screen for $60!
toolkits listed below!

The process is as follows;
0) MAKE SURE THE PHONE IS POWERED DOWN.
1)Heat up the back side of the phone ( i used a space heater ) to loosen up the glue. Then cut the adhesive around the outside of the rear panel with a plastic pic like tool (listed below). A heat gun/hair dryer is the advised device. Only get it hot enough to make glue easy to "cut".
2) After that is removed it's time to remove the inner modules holding down the motherboard and battery. You will need to loosen/remove 12 screws with a 00 Philips screwdriver. Each module is clipped into the side of the case and the nearby covers. If you start at the top and work your way towards the headphone jack they pop out easy. CAUTION you can poke the motherboard below these so only put your tools in as far as needed to grab the panels/modules!
3) After the covers are removed you need to disconnect the battery. It is advised to use a plastic pen type poking tool (tool kits listed below) to avoid cutting the motherboard or any other wires or electronic component. After it is disconnected you can remove it. If your device has cooled down you can add more heat so the glue is malleable.
4) now that the battery is disconnected and removed you can then disconnect most connectors on the motherboard. There is a total of about 8 connections you need to disconnect. They are near the following items; volume button, light sensor 2x, screen connector, power button, 2 antennae wires (white and red), botton of the motherboard. BEFORE YOU COMPLETELY REMOVE THE MOTHERBOARD BE CAUTIOUS!! There is 1 connector on the BACK of the motherboard! Gently fold the motherboard up to allow enough room to disconnect it. You are then ready to disconnect. If you feel resistance make sure all wires/connectors holding the motherboard down are disconnected and out of the way. Take your time!
5) Now it is time to separate the display from the "mid case" or the main body of the phone whatever you want to call it. You will place pics under where the battery was and cut through the adhesive all the way to the outside edge of the phone. You will work your way all the way around the phone being cautious on the bottom edge. There is a wire that is recessed down but just keep your pic level with the display and you will be fine. CAUTION!! If your screen was already cracked it will most likely crack even more and small sharp pieces of glass will come off. Take your time and you will get the screen and lcd off. There is a ribbon cable that goes from the front side to the back where the motherboard was.
6) now that everything is out of the way, make sure to remove any broken glass or excess adhesive. You are ready to reverse the process!!
7) After you have cleaned up any mess and excess glue/glass you can apply your new adhesive or just reuse the old stuff if you didn't remove too much. You will place the new screen on the phone after removing any plastic covers on it's back side. Take your time threading the ribbon cable and secure the screen on to the phone. It is advised to heat it up a bit and press the screen on to keep it from moving for the rest of the procedure.
8) You may now replace the motherboard and connect all connectors. Take your time and be gentle, you do not want to cut the pcb or any wires/cables. Start at the bottom of the phone with the cable BELOW the motherboard. Then work your way around connecting the 8 ribbon cables and wires. Make sure they are connected securely.
9) place the battery in the best spot to allow it's ribbon cable to align with the motherboard. Connect the power ribbon cable. If needed heat it up then use pressure. Give the phone a small charge and test out all functions of the phone
10) replace all of the modules/covers and tighten the 12 screws in place. Just snug is fine.
11) if everything is working you are now ready to replace the back glass of the phone. Make sure to heat up the phone again and use adhesives or reuse the old stuff then press it in place.

Dude. If you have really been rocking this phone the entire time. You are going to be pleasantly surprised when you try a new one. The battery life alone is phenomenally better. I'm not really a phone person, and as a result my phone basicly dies from being on standby. I can go around a full week on my iphone 13 pro max before I hit 10%. If I use the crap out of it, I can make it last around 2 days.
Hey! I have legit only used this phone since jan 2017! hahaha. I like phones but I like saving money more. The main thing that changes is cameras and batteries. I might go to an s23 next year. I think I can get one more year out of this phone though 🤣. Thanks for stopping by. The s23 has a 50MP camera this has a 12MP. Ha. Image stabilization is light years ahead of my phone.
@@TritonTv69420 My son has the galaxy fold 4. I thought it would not hold up to his abuse. I was completely wrong. those things are tanks. And they will probably give you 1000 cash back for trading in that phone. Just a FYI. I traded in a note 4 for $1000 off when I bought his.
I like keeping my old phones actually haha. I m sure I'm eligible for an upgrade.
This video is only like 7 years too late!!!
