      @@PerformanceOnWheels That's great to hear!
      A couple quick questions: If you remember, were your OEM All-season tires run flats? If so, I was wondering how that affected ride comfort. I know Mercedes chooses run flat tires that don't have super thick walls, so I was just curious about them... Also did you have a choice of different tire options from your dealership? Thanks a ton for your time!

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před 3 lety

      Yes it had run flats. You won't think about it after driving it. Enjoy!!

    The 43 series is a very fast car. I was on my way from Los Angeles to Phoenix and I spotted E63s AMG racing from behind. I had my wife and two boys in the back but because it was a long stretch with no cops in sight, I decided to test the capability of the GLC43 AMG SUV. From 85mph he waved at me and we both punched it and wow, I passed him at around 128mph and we shut down at 135. He was behind me for the next 13 miles after we slowed down where he finally made an exit. I am sure he’s shocked so am I. I am sure he was shocked but I still don’t know why I am faster than him. His car is a V8 biturbo S model. We got up to that speed very fast and wish I had a camera! I will not trade this little beast for nothing! I wonder what would have happened if I put in the Renntech tune. Now with 45k miles car runs faster than when I bought it brand new. The only thing is I replaced tires at 10k miles!!! 21 inch. Have you guys replaced tires? I heard tires that come with the car when new is not original. My 3rd sets of tires have 8kmiles and still in great shape.

      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před 5 lety +2

      Great Story, very interesting as well! We are still on the original tires, I bet we have another summer on them as well. The kicker is we have winter tires and wheels, so I cannot give accurate wear data to you on that. I look at the eurotune tune for these cars on occasion. I may pull the trigger. The power increases with the tune are no joke. I would however worry about the extra power on the transmission. Reading an article from the main engineer of the motor, they believe it is the future of all AMG cars. He noted he thinks they can get triple the power out of it (with some different internals.) Pretty wild stuff. THANK YOU for commenting and watching!

      Performance On Wheels wow, so with a serious tune the car becomes a beast! I am looking for it to last me for years and Renntech tune is a very safe tune according to my service advisor at Mercedes. I heard our engine is underrated from factory. Renntech got 375hp and 399 torque from Dyno

    Great review! Considering buying a used 2018 but just read some reviews about these cars going through tires very quickly (6000 miles ish). Also read about the crabbing or tire crunching issues in cold temperature. Seems to be an issue with right hand drive GLCs. Did you guys have issues like the above? The one we are looking at has the 21inch upgraded factory wheels. I had a BMW X5 before with 21 inch wheels which ate tires also, so hoping that’s not the case with this Benz also. Hardly any choices for 21inch tires for this car. Thanks!

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před 3 lety

      We had a set of summer and winter wheels. We drove the factor tires in one snow storm and said nope!! I can't speak to tire wear specifically because of this. When we sold the vehicle we were on original summer and winter tires still. Both had about 4/32ns and it had about 55,000 miles on it.

    hi - thanks for video - i know this is old but how did it ride for oyu in the snow with the wummer/winter tires you had on it? or did you actually put strict winter tires on there? i have one and just put on michelin all sport. Hoping it is good with those in light snow / ice.

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před 7 měsíci

      The factory tires were dangerous and did not handle good at all. Specific winter tires were a huge help. Remember it is a rear biased.

    Hey guys, since you have owned both a Jag (F Type) and the GLA 43 AMG I was looking for some insight. I'm considering a high performance SUV- either the a CPO GLC 43/63 or an F Pace SVR CPO (more of a comp to the 63). Based on your your experiences which would you consider for long term ownership?

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před rokem

      You have a very difficult question in my opinion. That is because I am a huge fan of JLR products. I have a good feeling most people would answer that question without much hesitation. That would be Benz. Glc43 is way better than what it gets credit for. I would buy another in a heartbeat. I would however choose and svr over it. The glc63 on the other hand would be much hard of a choice. If you found a CPO SVR that was certified with near 5-6 years of coverage (because jaguars cpo program is awesome) I would go that route. I may choose a range Rover svr over all of them. If you drove an Fpace svr, a glc63 first, you would have a hard time picking the glc43. If you only drive the glc43 you would be happy with it.

    I have a 2019 GLC Amg 43 question. How do you change the interior lights as Austin mentioned in the video. Maybe my car doesn’t have that option :(

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Před 9 měsíci

      Vehicle setting, followed by ambient light, there maybe another layer in between there, like interior lighting. I believe in the '19 you should have more than 3 colors. I unfortunately do not recall if this is standard or not. However, you should have it on an amg.

      It is. I think it sounds much better with age. The car with nearly 50,000 miles on it sounds incredible. This is not an active exhaust system either. Great sounding v6. AMG never disappoints in that regard...... Check out our video of this car doing donuts in the snow. You can really hear the exhaust scream there. Don't forget to like and subscribe.
