    So the rule 1ml=20 drops not applied here anywhere?

    • @PharmacyTechLove
      @PharmacyTechLove  Před rokem +1

      It’s not, sometimes it’s 15 gtts or 20 gtts, I wish it were universal.

    Hey there!! Love these videos they are so helpful!!! I’m a bit confused some of them I got different answers like number 6 ( I got 111.11) and number 7 (I got 50) without rounding at all just calculating with the calculator. What am I do wrong?

      Unfortunately I don’t teach this, there is a separate college course for that for future pharmacist.

    these are so much simpler and easier to understand! but the way we do it is dimensional analysis which makes it a bit more complicated. I love your videos but I can't do it on my assignments because we gotta do dimensional analysis😞

    I love your videos they explain so much but what if the problem does not have a time in it? Example A patient is getting D5W infused at 25 ML/Hr using a 15 drop set, what is the infusion rate?

    • @PharmacyTechLove
      @PharmacyTechLove  Před 2 lety

      Well on yours it does have a time. The problem states 25ml per hour, so that's the infusion rate. The patient will receive 25ml of D5W per hour. Now, if your wanting to know the drop rate that's different.

    • @PharmacyTechLove
      @PharmacyTechLove  Před 2 lety

      Everything depends on the question that's being asked in the problem. To get drops per minute (gtts/min) you would divide 25ml/60min * 15 gtts which would give you = 6.25 gtts/min. I normally don't answer questions in the comments, but my students are testing so I decided...Why not. (Let's check our answer----> If there's 15gtts/ml (drop factor) as you stated...15gtts/per ml * 25 ml =375 gtts total. 375 total gtts/6.25 gtts =60 min which is 1 hour. Final answer if asking gtts/minute is 6.25 gtts/min. Hope this helps.
