Uploading the remainder of that trip, soon. I ended up getting off in the gulf. I saw seven different rivers that trip, after starting in Winona, Minnesota.
Loved this video and just sent the link to my Great uncle who worked on the Ohio river on a push boat back in the 60's. Ever been up the Ohio around the Parkersburg WV area? Would love to see some footage of a boat working that section of the river as I have spent many summers up in that area.
I always run the channel span. A lot of guys run the high water span with emty's if the wind is blowing just because I guess the bank cuts the wind a little but i never do
It has a wicket style dam. It allows transit over lowered sections when water stage is high enough. We can actually run around some dams on Ohio when river is high enough.
I have been fascinated !
Thanks for the ride Captain Kyle.
Nice to have your vids back up.
Wow that's a lot of rock.
Man you get around Skipper. Arkansas, Ohio, Mississippi and Tennessee rivers in two videos, Great stuff!!

The time lapse was cool thanks . Good video
I liked that timelapse at the end a lot.
Paducah is a nice town. I’ve been there
Great stuff Skipper....always good to get new videos from ya.... have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year captain. 👍
Someday when I'm done messing around with these concrete trucks imma be a tugboat captain. Might just be my retirement right here.
I like the time lapse. What’s the torpedo level on the window for, listing gauge?

I’ve been on the Mississippi River up by Illinois
That sir as we say in south Louisiana is nice slab you are a captain of
I think the Tennessee River is beautiful. It is in my father's family blood.
Blessings at Christmas to you and yours 👍
Great footage. Curious what location this rock quarry operation is at and where do you drop off the load you picked up?
I always run the channel span on the Irvin Cobb
I see the crew has been chipping, priming and painting to make her look beautiful. Big thumbs up for doing the nasty work but she looks good.
i miss being Ohio from TowHeads island to 18 mile island
Have you spent any time on the Missouri River? End of the year I'll be moving from the Ohio river to Missouri River.
They're Mine Haul Trucks Cap'n Kyle.

That FF was cool.
It takes 60 trailer trucks load a barge
How much fuel do you go through in one day, with 1,500 tons?
Those trucks haul about 80- 100 tons a load some of them about 150-200 tons depends on which yuke it is
Each barge hauls about 1500 ton
Yes they do I use to haul coal and dump it on the barges at several places on the Ohio River between Portsmouth O and up river to Belpre O
If you can go around the lock then why is their a lock?
It has a wicket style dam. It allows transit over lowered sections when water stage is high enough. We can actually run around some dams on Ohio when river is high enough.
Where was this?
Paducah
He said it clearly in the video.
Why would you need a lock system when you just go around it???
When the water is high we can.
If you haven't puked in the hallways in the old Big E then your not a real pilot.
Find them triple screw days, lets see them pics and vids.
