I've got a good one...recently cracked a rib in two places. As soon as the pain starts up, I use an electronic hand warmer, letting it heat up and place the hand warmer on the site of the pain and let the heat soothe the pain. Can also soothe sore joints and muscles too...any hand warmers can do this job, be it electric or the Hothands
Nice one Richie I agree hot hands are the best I've had. Every winter camp i have done I have put hot hand in my socks against my skin with no ill effect. I've had them stay warm for well over 10 hrs more like 15 if you keep them consealed in your pocket. Another good one is to stop your water filter freezing rendering it unsafe to use. Drying out electronics... really interesting to know it acts as a desiccant but as a used pack is left alone it will absorb humidity from the air and eventually get saturated. I'd say crack a new one, the heat will help water and condensation evaporate faster and once its expired it will absorb the maximum humidity it potentially can.
You can use them in you long term food prepping container cos it eats the oxygen so dry stuff like rice etc won't go off so easy , lasts longer etc .. Great tips BTW .good luck and god bless ... Lee

Thanks so much for the tips , I live in Tanzania 🇹🇿 and in 2 weeks I happen to climb Mount Kilimanjaro where the summit night’s weather usually is -2 to upto -35 degrees which is a bit too much for someone who lives on the coastal side of the city ….I bought only 2 pairs of hand warmers but now I will be buying more from the local supermarket which has sells international medical aid here ….now through this video and your tips ….I exactly know how to make good use of these hand warmers ….Thankyou once again for sharing these tips they will be very handy for me up there on the mountain ….

Grate video mate with some really good tips. I use them in the little pocket inside my sleeping bag. Then in the morning i put it in my boots. Works a treat.

They are awesome water cleaners too. Take plastic bottle put small hole in top screwtop on stuff tightly two cotton balls in neck of bottle, then add a cotton sock open two or 3 used hand warmers poor over cotton sock add second cotton sock and poor dirty water in to remaining bottle. The water comes out much cleaner but NOT sterile. They contain active carbion and iron pyrite two substances used in the cleaning of water
On a campout with scouts, some first time campers threw some of those hot hands in their sleeping bags. As they rolled around the warmers got under their shirts, and they both had chemical burns. Always try, if sleeping with them not to let them come into contact with skin.
I'll have to tell my uncle about the two sock, 1 warmer technique as he gets cold feet at night. I have wondered if one under a fuel can would work, I'll have to give it a try. Great tips mate. ATB, Grizz

Interesting John, because theses hot hands ones literally get too hot for me to keep against me at times. I always find that if I really give it a good shake to make sure the oxygen gets right around all the chemicals inside then they work significantly better than if I don’t. They always take a good half hour to 40 mins to get warm too.
Not sure why but ive used countless numbers of these and only once did one of a 2 pack sachet not work, and i think it was the outer package was damaged so had let oxygen in, maybe reconsider these they take around 10 mins to get warm and 20 or so to hit full heat but last a aolid night camping in winter

Wrap in a handkerchief and tie around your neck to keep the back of your neck warm. Or wrap and stick in the front of your bra to keep your chest warm. (Hey, I don’t care if you want to wear a bra!)

Which is why I said to transfer them to the outside of the sleeping bag or under the mat when you get in your bag! 👍🏼

Put one in a strong sock and place it under a cover in your cat or dog bed if your pet sleeps in a cold room or place that gets cold at
