    Great video Rick! Absolutely looking forward to upcoming episodes!
    If it would be my car, I'd try to keep the refurbished /repainted parts as close to factory original as possible.

    Great stuff Rick thanks I didn’t know that the bumper wiring loom unclips at the side,I’m going to be taking the front and rear bumpers off with the side sill covers and wheel arch liners off my Spider this winter in search of the dreaded tin worm

      Best of luck! I’m sure it’ll be fine, don’t worry. I have a video on the side skirts which may help. The rear bumper removal requires the light bar to be removed but this is super easy. The only trouble you may encounter with bumper removal is very stiff or seized main carrier bolts. Plenty of WD40 👍🏼

    Those slam panels are always bent, I think it would be better if they where made from something thicker. I really like how the front bumper comes off on these.

      Yes my front panel just seems to be a little bit bent but I’m hoping it can can be straightened out a little. With regards to the bumper……..I agree, they are so simple to pop on and off ! Such a luxury haha

    Great series coming up. I appreciate your attention to details. Pity you do not have a 156, since I will do the same job in a year or two.

    With my V6 Rick i did the lower cam covers in crackle black the upper front cover and plenum in red crackle and rubbed the paint off the alfa script and ribbing fuel rails i did in gold and replaced all the visible cap screws with stainless steel just be aware tho they are M7 automotive so not sure if you can get them off the shelf. I had to use M8 turn the heads to the correct size and re screw M7 before you ask im a machinist

      Hello Sir thank you for the comment. Yes I love the look of the crackle paint! I am very tempted indeed. Thanks for the tip on the bolts too. There is a seller selling full stainless engine bolt kits for the Busso so I may go for one of those but I will check that they are correct first. Thanks for the heads up

    @13:00, I see you've removed the bottom bolt in the pic that attaches the headlight to the front panel, which is bu$$er to get out. Ask me how I know. Good luck with the resto.

    Good to see you back. I’ll await the next videos with anticipation. Is there any chance you could do a page with all the links that people send you so that we too can buy the products.

    Great vid as usual. I’ve completely striped the engine bay on my twinny and cracking on with the rust…. Where do you order replacement nuts and bolts from. I use totally Alfa for most bits but after generic fittings if you can help?

    • @_RicksGarage
      @_RicksGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Jimmy.
      I will be getting a lot of my engine bolts and brackets re-plated in yellow zinc. For everything else lightweight, I.e headlight and bumper fixings etc, I will be buying new bolts in stainless steel from eBay. Very easy to do. Just measure your existing bolts using a vernier calliper and thread pitch gauge.
      Rick
