What's great about this battle is that if you're not a Naruto fan, you can appreciate the fight for itself and how in sync the two are and the jutsus they easily pull off. If you are, you're probably tearing up a bit because our boys are just effortlessly fighting together and have each other's backs and call back to so many little moves and tricks they used in the past as they were growing up. Absolutely the best thing to come out of Boruto.

i slowed down the speed to 0.25 and rewatched that part just cause i was so fascinated. since its a milisecond exchange, in normal speed you wont catch it, but slowed down the frames the movements are perfectly and understandably drawn!!

What I love about this scene, besides watching Naruto and Sasuke absolutely demolishing an enemy together, is that it shows the difference between raw ability and trained ability so very clearly, which is a reoccurring theme in this anime. In this scene, it's clear Momoshiki has more raw power, which gives him faster reflexes and more strength, but even with all that he's no match for the 2 most well trained people on the planet. They've practiced and honed their skills for literal decades. He's not really any different than fighting an average jonin to them, in terms of skill.
Actually at this point in the story, Naruto had been behind a desk since the last war ended, in this fight he's rusty but still incredibly strong
@@AwashimaSeriLieutenant He wasn't. At this point, he's been behind a desk as Hokage for between 5 and 8 years, and even with his obligations as Hokage, he still takes every opportunity he can to train.
Given we see his inauguration day, and he already has both Boruto and Himawari, both are old enough to dress themselves, and get ready for a day out. Given this, and that we know Boruto is at least 12 in the Boruto movie, we can assume he's either late 10 or early 11 when the show opens, and approximately 5 or 6 when Naruto is made Hokage. The age difference between Himawari and Boruto is 2 years, meaning at the start of the show she is approximately 8 or 9, and approximately 3 or 4 when Naruto is made Hokage.
Up until probably about 3-6 months before being made Hokage, Naruto would have been fully active and going on missions regularly, tho these missions are more likely assisting with training younger shinobi or diplomatic missions to other nations. Even still, we can assume he's keeping up with his training. We also see him take part in training with the jonin of the leaf fairly regularly, namely the barrier forces and the reconnaissance forces.

when you think about it, it's absolutely hilarious that Momoshiki just said to himself, "Yeah I'm just gonna 2-v-1 these guys, no sweat," and then got positively bodied for it.
I mean, in particular that's almost the entire point of the Chuunin exams & Momoshiki arcs and what Naruto was trying to impress upon Boruto - that the power you earn is worth more than the fast unearned power brought about through shortcuts.

Naruto’s story ended a long time ago, and they didn’t get nerfed the enemies got stronger and Sasuke has held himself up pretty neatly against Code and ishiki sorta, and in two blue vortex he fought off code and his army so Boruto could get away and he scarred code. Seems Sasuke has held up okay against the new generation enemies

Naruto and Sasuke were always fighting, magnets to battle and war throughout the entire series while most of the ninja sit in the village enjoying a mostly peaceful era of life. There's no wonder they pulled so far ahead of their peers, their ancestors Madara and Hashirama lived in an era of war, and were so powerful due to constant fighting. They went through a lot of scary encounters to get where they are, from Naruto facing the end of the Leafs Nagato or even Sasuke learning truly what it felt like to almost die fighting Killer Bee. These two went through hell and back during their time and learned a ton from it, and just like in the very beginning where they were using each others skill as goal posts they propelled each other to being literally the most powerful ninja in the world. It's crazy seeing how far they've come from the days they were trying to run up the tree and kept getting higher and higher than each other and marking their spot, but they never stopped running up that tree did they?

The anime made this fight especially beautiful because the redesign of Momoshiki was refreshing, set the aesthetic for Otsutsuki hereon and the gorgeous storyboarding by Sekibeing was amazing. But as reluctant as I am to admit, Kawaki vs Garou trumped this in episode 189.

I always know it's gonna be a Naruto Fight For The Greats when the animators make them throw hands rather than just make it a beam fight. That taijutsu portion of this fight is just IMMACULATE.
Yeah. It's nice to see them scaling back the... scale I guess of the fights. Them focusing more on hand to hand combat than just "using a bigger fireball" is a nice change of pace, and makes the fights more energetic.

My favorite thing about this fight is the chemistry between naruto and Sasuke, and the history to back it up. Going back to part 1 you can totally see how well they work together. They are both so tuned in to each others strengths and weaknesses that they can coordinate without saying a word (look back to the zabuza fight) Naruto’s overwhelming force, combined with Sasuke’s eye for exploiting his opponent’s mistakes leads to the best dynamic duo in anime history.
