Little known fact, in the season that Son won the Asian Games with Korea, he played 87 matches for club and country. The most games played by any player in Europe that year.

You have to realize that Son's dad didn't want Son to join a team at a younger age in Korea because all under-aged coaches and managers in Korea solely focuses on winning. This kind of football culture restricts many of the kids to enjoy football itself and be afraid of making new creative plays. When you're young, winning is important, but you would really rather focus on basics and growth. Son's dad knew this, so made an "unorthodox" choice.

Also his father wasn't gonna force football onto him cause he knows how difficult the life of an athlete is but Son was so persistent in becoming a professional that his father went all in on him

He was so determined to stay in epl he won the Asian cup to get exempted from Korea army service, just like that. That will always be legendary for me. Deserved every bit of success with that determined winning mentality.

one of the biggest talents playing at hamburg in those days he was here...so sad when we were not able to hold him thanks to lack of success and money...but he wouldn't be who h is today if he had stayed...he is an amazing guy and even tho he made his move to leverkusen who have become kind of a nemesis for HSV in terms of buying out our talent, i am really happy for every step he took in his career this far.

I really didn't expect much from "yet another player bio video", but this really surprised me. I am really impressed and inspired by Son Heung-Min story so far. Asian players are awesome, when given a proper chance.

This is a great video. An inspiration to many parents and kids who see Son not only as a good player but as a role model. It is important to note that second generations at any activity tend to thrive: First generations learn, fail, succeed and understand the context, setting their next in kin to success. Thank Son for being an example in how hard work pays off.
