Super video. I recently purchased a 4506 and have not field stripped it. I figured it disassembled similarly to a 5906, but want to confirm it. Thanks for sharing.
I was finally able to pickup a 4506-1 after more than 5 years of looking because I really like the 3rd Gen SW pistols. About 5 years ago I was able to pickup a very gently used 645 that was an Early model that came with the Black Front Sight insert instead of the later Orange/Red insert but the Serial number also verified that it was an early model. I have also been able to pick up a very nice CHP TSW4006 and more recently I got a West Virginia Public Service Commission TSW4566 which is just like the CHP pistol with a Milled Framed Rail instead of having a rail bolted on. The Tactical LEO 3rd Gen pistols are very cool pistols that are assembled with Oversized Frames that are Hand Lapped and are build like TANKs just Like the other SW weapons.
I brought my in 1988 4506 adjustable sight. The first they show me was like your a transition model the frame said model 645 and the rear sight was 645 style. GREAT pistol super reliability and accurate. Good video.
Perhaps the finest heavy duty service pistols ever made are the generation 3 Smith and Wesson pistols. I often hear them referred to as Tanks. Come on man, they aren’t that heavy. They are durable and reliable. I have never witnessed a malfunction. (I’m sure someone has but I worked at CLEET certification) If you are concerned about weight and bulk the 3913/3914. 4506 and 1006 heavy duty.
Good demo, and thank you, but almost a minute and a half before you got into it. And thanks again, but I didn't come here to "learn" that my pistol has a magazine disconnect, etc. I came here to do "Basic Disassembly/Field Strip". This could have been a 3 minute video.
Bought mine in 1996, technically used but probably not “used” original blue box with factory white label on it , serial number matches , box is labeled Model 645, frame says 4506-1
I had a friend that owned a pawn shop and 8+ years ago when the cops were going to the Glock he had a 4506 and traded off with some air conditioning work that I did for him I'm interested now in purchasing a green laser to fit that particular weapon I had seen one that go right on to the side of the pistol grip but I don't know if it will fit my 4506 I've seen the ones that go in front of the trigger guard do they have to be professionally installed the one that was on the side of the pistol grip look like it was much better placed than the one in front of the pistol grip it also looked a lot better a response to my question would be greatly appreciated thank you
You have a very pleasant voice. Perfect for an instructional video. I carried one for years in the early 2000’s in South Central. I love my 4506.

Good video completely in focus and in frame for a great tutorial. Thank you
