  • Short video guide explaining what motors are good for what miniquads and how you can use the numbers on the sides and the specs to choose the perfect motor for your craft.
    We go through sizes like 2204, talk about what kv means, weight and a bunch of other motor related stuff. Happy Flying and leave a like if you found this useful. It really helps the channel and hopefully helps more people learn from this vid.

    Great video Stu! Very practical content for those getting started (like me)... only thing I missed is brushed/brushless types which I do no think they are mentioned. I know brushless is the most common motor anyway but I came across 70/90mm frame quads using them. Anyway, thank you so much!

    What's your advice?

I don't room for that size prop and can't find a nicer frame my question is if I use the 5" six blade props for team racekraft would hat compensate for the smaller prop size? Thanks

While buying motors online almost none of the manufacturers give the thrust table or specify the max load the motor can carry.I was wondering whether there is a way to calculate the thrust given rpm,kv and other such parameters because i am having a hard time deciding which motor to buy.Also i cannot afford to create a thrust calculating bench so that's out of question. IS there any other way to know the thrust generated by the motor??

  • @Drunken_Hamster
    @Drunken_Hamster Před 7 lety

    I think the best motors for our hobby with have a 3:1 down to a 2:1 diameter to height ratio. MAYBE an extension to a 4:1 ratio, but, after that, absolutely nothing less or more. Examples of a 2:1 are the infamous 1407's that can run with a 5" racecraft 5038 twin blade at insane kv and power a 300 gram AUW 5" quad at a 12:1 thrust to weight ratio.
    A 3:1 would be your standard 1806's. And a 4:1 exactly would be like a 2005 or a 2406. I don't really think either exists.
    My fav would likely be a light weight, high power 4.5" quad {I've made another post about changing the quad sizes to be 0.5" less than the current ones, replacing most classes with better middle grounds and causing people to be more diverse} with a 1608 or an 1806. **click** noice.

    hey man i just made a phantom 1 electronics into a phantom 2 shell with new motor's same kv and so i soldered on the first motor which is the back left and then i plugged everything im to test if it's spinning the right way and so then i soldered on the 2nd back right motor and also tested it then i just did the other 2 at same time and tested it and so i had to rotate the naza 180° so that the arrow will look forward and so when i put everything together and took of it just instafliped on me and i realised that the first 2 motor's i did are going into full throttle and that's what's making the flipover what do u think i should do some people told me that the drone needs to be fully calibrated with laptop do u think that will fix my problem what do u think? awesome video's btw i like yo drone collection (::

      insta flip means you have one motor is rev rotation check that

    What is the voltage of the battery

    What if Im not looking for a racing motor. More like a sport motor, im not really concern about speed and acceleration. Im new to the hobby and I want build a quad that i could learn. So far im planning out my build. The frame is going to be a Q210W and i want to be really agile. Ideas???

      Silver ADFX-01 agility depends on your tuning like your PIDs and rates

      Just buy cheap racing motors like these ones: www.banggood.com/KINGKONG-2205-2300KV-2-4s-CWCCW-Brushless-Motor-For-RC-Multirotor-p-1056209.html?p=9M251430988682015113
      But use only a 3s battery. In this way the quad won't be too fast and is ideal for learning but it is also 4s ready for the moment you have some experience and want to start flying fast.

    I am building a 250 quad but I am also a beginner so I don't want that fast the total weight is 2300. What motor is best for this(5 inch prop)

  • @themittymak
    @themittymak Před 8 lety

    smaller prop on a large motor? does it give more speed ?

    • @UAVfutures
      @UAVfutures  Před 8 lety

      +themittymak not really. You want to match the right motor to the right prop. so the motor can swing a prop that is not too small because that is a waste of energy and not too big becasue it wont be able to swing it at a fast enough speed

    Have you tried the the T-Motor F60 2207 2450kv? It boasts +1745g thrust 😳

      With what props tho?
      I have some 2208 2450k and some 2207 2650kv end I'm whunt to put some raceing props on I'm thinking 5050 bi or tri
      Or 5.1x4.66x3
      Or 5.1x4.77x3

    • @StantonLuke
      @StantonLuke Před 3 lety

      @@TECHnoman753 bi blades are more efficient and often used for longer flight times (other than the latest DJI, all of them before have bi blade., but for racing tri blade is better thrust.. also high amp draw. Too aggressive and you will get battery sag (lower voltage) worst case you blow and esc and kill a battery. 4.77 is more aggressive than 4.66. I would say try both.. and see what feels better. Sounds like a cop out, but remember the entire build works together.. so the props will be only one part. Battery and build quality will also play a part. Ultimately how you feel it flies will make you a better pilot as it’s easier to fly with.

    if you want a 6"prop do 3000KV . What would be the motor. Not that i want it, but to understand it.

    • @UAVfutures
      @UAVfutures  Před 7 lety

      you would not do a 6" prop at 3000kv
