That was unexpected for all of them. Watch Kanami's face just before that moment. She looks at Saiki, as if asking her, "What do you want, my beloved? I have something for you, you'll like it," and than says "Europa" with her guitar. Priceless.
This is so much fun to watch...they all seem to be having the time of their lives...great to see Kanami so up close and personal with a grin on her face a mile wide throughout. And of course Saiki playing the crowd like a marionette...so awesome. This has me extra pumped up for NYC in Sept. Thanks Vlad!!
Incredible band. Awesome! To me, Band Maid and Love Bites are the most exciting bands in the world today. I'm a 70 year old Texas cowboy......Blessings from Texas!
I lived in Oklahoma so I'll forgive you for being from Texas. Seriously, gonna give you another band to check out...Aldious. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
@@johnmiezejewski81 Right on, John, Aldious is another great Japanese band, indeed. So is Love Bites, D Drive and the young trio, Asterism. All feature awesome young women on guitar. As one reviewer asked, "What do they feed these young female musicians in Japan?" To me, Japanese bands are the best in the entire world now. I despise rap, and hope the beautiful master musician ladies of Japan can indeed take over the music industry, world wide.
Its so amazing to see so much talent squeezed on the the tiny stage of a venue so divey there's a pillar in the middle of the stage. Yet these ladies take it in stride, rock like they're in a major stadium, sounding great and smiling the whole time.
Yes, I know--it's impressive that they just go out and do their stadium show vibe kicking major ass! It's beautiful how nothing phases them--they just conquer whatever is in front of them WHEREVER they are!! Same with their online shows these days.
Yes, it was a wonderful night! 🤘 The whole show was amazing. It was hot like in a sauna, but BAND-MAID made us forget about the heat, they have filled us with energy from a different world!
The performance is one thing, it's f* AMAZING! But holy shit, you're standing soo close!! My god. This must have been such an intimate and good feeling concert :D Wish I had discovered B-M back then but only found them 3 days ago :'( Hoping to see them live once touring starts up again! Thank you for making me feel like I was there
Thanks for being with me at this show! 🤘 Yes, being so close to BAND-MAID at a concert is a life-changing experience. Their energy just flowed through me, changing me in some very profound way...
I often asked myself, when will Kanami quote her big idol and here she did !!! The song from which she played the first notes is called very meaningful "Europa".
These girls deserve to be in front of thousands and not on these small stages. Let's hope they get there. I will be in Dallas... but man... they deserve the main room at the House of Blues. It's a shame my U.S. brethern are too damn uptight about "it must be English" bullshit. As I try and tell people, you go listen to crap in English (or stay buried in the past). I'll enjoy something fresh, new, and frigging awesome.
In all honesty, it would be better not to understand the words in some songs. Even if the song sounds cool, the lyrics quite often are trivial, or downright stupid. Miku at least has a deep philosophical mind, and if you watch a BAND-MAID song with subtitles, you quite often get goosebumps...
Perfect example of less is more...what Akane can do with a small kit is amazing. Proves you don't have to have a kit like Portnoy or Peart (R.I.P.) to be a great drummer. No disrespect to Portnoy or Peart, love them both. Also Kanami intro to Moratorium & riff at 13:11...doesn't get any better.
Or a kit which Senri Kawaguchi has 😊 Although she uses all those bells and whistles a lot. But you are absolutely right. Akane is able to deliver an amazing product with that basic kit. A journalist in the drum magazine asked her, whether she thought of using two bass drums. We know she tried, there's a photo of her behind that bigger kit, with two kick drums. But in that interview, she said that she will stay with a simpler kit for the time being: - Your Tama Star Drum kit has a simple setting of one bass, two toms, and one floor for your aggressive style with full use of high-speed phrases of toms and a bass drum. Do you want to switch to a two-bass kit someday? Akane: I’m often asked that, but I originally prefer a simple setting with one tom and one ride side by side, so I’m the type for a one-bass. I want to try a two-bass once, but I don’t think it matches my image. I love my current setting where I can see audience and I feel near the other members. www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/fqeffl/interview_with_akane_on_rhythm_drums_magazine/
by the time I was 15 I had had seen more than a few monster kits from the big ROCK SHOWS (early 70's) then I saw Buddy Rich ....WOW! Akanes modest kit makes me smile.
With that intro to Moratorium Kanami has finally come out of here shell. She grabbed that audience by the balls and said 'You are min'. I've never seen her so animated and in the moment. Kudos for a great intro.
Vlad you have outdone yourself! Thank you very much for posting all these from their European World Domination tour, excellent quality. I have a ticket to their Dallas show and intend to study these for reference;-) I appreciated your Misa vantage before but Kamani steals the show with her solo before Moratorium. I love how they all react to it. Beautiful women, great personalities, technical wizardry, tasteful music, and "service" uniforms Japan should declare them a national treasure. But what I really love about them is how they love one other & have fun!
While being in Hamburg, I stayed with my sister who lives there. The day after the show, we watched the Queen movie, and afterwards I've shown them the Bubble MV. I have never seen this Queen movie before, but I knew, of course, that Bubble is a tribute to Freddy Mercury. It was great to finally see all the references to the movie the girls have inserted into Bubble MV. I think the greatest thing about that movie and about Bubble is that feeling of unity of the band, which is highlighted so strongly. In the same way as Queen was great when they were united, BAND-MAID feels the same way. Kanami seems to think about it a lot, maybe as a result of Queen movie and Bubble. In her interview in GIGS Magazine she says that BAND-MAID is the cause of her life, and even if she ever starts writing songs for other bands, or playing as a guest musician in other projects, BAND-MAID is forever central to her. And during her recent report on the European tour, she says she shared a room with Akane, and again she thought to herself, "What great people we are, getting along so easily, and being so friendly to each other!"
@@VladimirChupin I think of the music business as a corrosive acid on bands' personnel. And when I discovered Band-Maid they had been in the business for awhile. But what struck me about them was their cohesiveness. I saw an interview with the whole band and of course I don't understand Japanese but the personalities were just fascinating and enchanting. I couldn't tell how much was "put on" or real since they do have a great sense of humor. So when they started on Kamani's devotion to Saiki and how she appreciated Saiki tying her bow etc I thought she's just joshing but after watching more interviews performances and the music videos you begin to appreciate Kamani's earnestness about all things. I love how she jams with band members and how the others appreciate her attention. I have seen Saiki adjusting her head piece for her during a performance in one of your videos and it shows the affection for her. I also like how during her solo before Moratorium you gave us a view of Saiki just beaming at her. I also love how Kamani gets all up in the audience before she retreats back to Akane! Your Hamburg footage is just great even with the sixth member of the band blocking the view of Kobata & Misa. It's only Rock & Roll but I like it. Thanks again! czcams.com/video/YzWETTu-4iE/video.html
Beside my admiration for their personalities and musicianship I´m glad about the fact, that they don´t change their instruments after every second song. Look at the effect-boards on the floor and together with the technician at the PA they can create the sound which fits. Nice to see that they tune the instruments by themselves.
There was that guy, a musician... what's his name... Axe Japan! He said in his video about Kanami's guitar rig, that she has some pedals, which help her to retune her guitar on-the-fly, without the need to change it. Probably you refer to that video, right? czcams.com/video/YBhf-PUECtk/video.html
If you check the videos for their concerts in Japan which are on DVD you'll notice both Miku and Kanami change their guitars. The fact they don't on tour is more down to the fact they can only carry one guitar with them when flying ?
@@thomasrotweiler Yes, I also thought the same. Last year, Aeroflot has lost their luggage, when they were flying from Moscow to Helsinki, and Kanami had to run around the city musical shops in order to rent a PRS guitar. She said, they found only some very old vintage one for her, and she had to play it during the concert. No such luxury as changing guitars during a concert on tour...
Vlad, I happened to be at the show in Helsinki, but it took me a while B4 comprehending what Kanami was trying to explain in 'English 'why she had to play the vintage PRS found at a local shop in Helsinki instead of her own. Yes, those smiles! 😁 a mile wide 💕 My heart throbbed each time I saw Saiki's smile here. She sheds off her Ice Queen persona, and you see her so vulnerable and so honest! She gets so sincerely happy when the crowd sings along!
Kanami was amazingly good that evening. I think the reason for that was that they have had a day of rest before Hamburg concert. Her fingers were just flying over the fretboard.

Kanami is on fire...best band around in 2022 .
On August 17th,I went to a concert in Osaka,Japan. I am convinced that they are the number1 hard rock band in the world.
We all wholeheartedly agree 🤘
I just love this band. It's that simple.
BM always blows me away but this set just blew away blown away. i’m not even sure this kind of enthusiasm is legal.
It's the proper substitute for the mind-altering drugs 😜 Therefore, it's not only legal, but must be promoted by the state 😎
I love when Kanami starts playing Santana, watch Akane's face priceless. I love these women.
Scream and shout and sing along! :-)
AKANE!!!KANAMI!!!AKANE!!!KANAMI!!!AKANE!!!KANAMI!!!
So right on. I love this band. Along with Love Bites, these two Japanese female bands are the best in the world, in my view.

音楽の神様が降りてきてますね(*´艸`*)
I despise rap, and hope the beautiful master musician ladies of Japan can indeed take over the music industry, world wide.
the BEST BAND ON EARTH!
True! 🤘
1000%
And a few other planets!!!
Saiki has such a unique voice. Powerful yet soft.
She's my favorite singer. 😄
Kanami is so good at guitar. I'm legitimately jealous of her skill.
Dude. Sick video! I love being able to watch without all the cuts of the regular concert footage!
Yes, it was a wonderful night! 🤘 The whole show was amazing. It was hot like in a sauna, but BAND-MAID made us forget about the heat, they have filled us with energy from a different world!

Glad that you've found it enjoyable :-) That was a memorable night indeed... Full of love and excitement.
Yes, being so close to BAND-MAID at a concert is a life-changing experience. Their energy just flowed through me, changing me in some very profound way...

"The adventures of Band Maid in the temple of the damned pillar .."
Bandmaid saves Indiana Jones lol
I often asked myself, when will Kanami quote her big idol and here she did !!! The song from which she played the first notes is called very meaningful "Europa".
She always says that she loves Santana.
I don't even know what the hell is being said in most English-language songs anyways! :)
In all honesty, it would be better not to understand the words in some songs. Even if the song sounds cool, the lyrics quite often are trivial, or downright stupid. Miku at least has a deep philosophical mind, and if you watch a BAND-MAID song with subtitles, you quite often get goosebumps...
@@VladimirChupin 'Daydreaming' is goosebump worthy.
lol hamburg logo is really small, its more a pub ^1
These little clubs won't last long... They are headed for world domination. That said, please come play the Troubadour in LA!!!
But in that interview, she said that she will stay with a simpler kit for the time being:
- Your Tama Star Drum kit has a simple setting of one bass, two toms, and one floor for your aggressive style with full use of high-speed phrases of toms and a bass drum.
She is so good that the drums shimmer! :p
@@dreadogastusf3548 yes they do
With that intro to Moratorium Kanami has finally come out of here shell. She grabbed that audience by the balls and said 'You are min'. I've never seen her so animated and in the moment. Kudos for a great intro.
Not only talented but funny girls. :D They are so much different on the stage than in the interviews.
And I'm a Japanese fan, lol.

Brilliant video. I love all these incredibly talented ladies, but to get front seat to Kanami was a gift. Her composing is as good as it gets. Her riffs tell a story as much as the lyrics do.
