There's a trick there. Tommy is holding the proctection away from his body, so the punch wave doesn't connect thru to him. It dies in the air gap. I learned to do that when my sensei used me as an example.

I mean if that punch dont hurt then why not just let the cushion do its work without holding it, or if he felt threatened by the man in front of him, then why not wear a more suitable pad.

Size matters a lot in both ways too big is too big and too small is too small for example Mike Tyson was of almost perfect stature, a little taller and he'd of been perfect but even at only 5 10 he will rock even a trained Hall in a fight. Eddie being 360lbs wouldn't last long enough.

I trained for 10 years and at 5'10" 185lbs could punch harder than anyone I knew and it wasn't close, except my instructor. I had 20-25 lbs on him and we we very equal in punching power.
It was fun to watch guys that could bench nearly 2x my weight but punch only 60% as hard as me.
