Honestly, I totally agree with you. You should be in the van that you are comfortable with, not what people say you should stay in. No one listens what type of house they should be in, they buy the one they want. Vans are the same.
Say, was that, Foresty Forest, bushwhacking up that mountain, just below the gondola?
Your van is perfect parts are cheap and it’s easy to repair and well a few repairs a year are cheaper then monthly payments

If you are not spending $400.00 or more a month on repairs then your doing just fine keeping that fantastic home on wheels.
I totally agree. I’ve put a lot of time into Truck which has kept the costs down and I now have a better vehicle than I could buy for what I’ve spent on it. Plus I owe nothing and that feels great.
I happen to like your green van too! You have made it a beautiful home! I wouldnt want a new van either especially after having put so much time and effort into the one you have. These days a monthly car payment is not economical and it is stressful to pay the high cost for the new vehicle plus a higher cost for insurance which will require full coverage for a financing. So I totally get you Amanda.

Dogs don’t need more room. They need attention and love and understanding and Frank gets plenty on all counts. I like standing up in our van but that’s just us.

The best choice is what you personally love and need. Many out there don’t realise that it is not only a vehicle but a part of us, putting love in this tiny house on wheels. I personally find it annoying when constantly there are comments, about what someone has or should do. 🌹👋🏽❤️

I love your van! I drive an '02 Dodge Durango and it will be my final ride. Got it in 2010 used. So far, I've had to replace the factory battery and buy tires. Your van is so roomy and cozy. I adore Frank! Your videos bring me much joy. Please enjoy your amazing lives.
Amanda, I 've never known any other pet named Frank and kind of wonder how you chose his name or did he already have it when you first got him? How did you get Frank in the first place? Have you ever thought of witing his bio. from a dogs perspective? It would be a really interesting read for any animal lover. I think Truck is perfect for your lifestyle. 4wd would be nice sometimes but it’s a lot more to break and maintain. New vans seem to be in the shop more often and harder if not impossible to work on yourself. Loved Franks playtime, thanks for sharing it with us!

I love Frank's bored face at the beginning, that's just how I feel when I have to wait on hold in order to reach customer service. And I would be truly shocked if you switched to a fully decked out van. It seems like you have Truck just the way you like, and would definitely not want to be making monthly payments on an expensive new rig. Love your yellow cozy pants! Love your cozy days with rain on the rooftop and Frank sleeping soundly.

A new build fix is fun task even if you’re helping others in Van build. ❤. Removing air bubbles is an art form that cabinet makers have been working to perfect over their careers. Great video Amanda.💜
My current goal is to get an older van similar to yours, specifically because I want to be able to work on it myself (something that's becoming harder to do with newer vehicles), but I'm not gonna lie, the temptation to go "newer" and potentially have fewer problems upfront is very strong. I actually had a moment of disappointment before you revealed that the van in your thumbnail isn't YOUR new van. 😂 I'm a total stranger with a rather silly attachment to your Truck. lol.

OH MY GOSH! I LOVE YOUR VAN! When I saw all that food that you could fit into it when you went North for a couple of months, tells me that your van is huge! I think your van is big. Maybe it's just the way you built it out. I say run it to the ground till it can't go another mile....theres plenty of room for Frank. Geez, it's a van, not a house!

What an amazing sunset. Love following along with you and adorable Frank! Sidenote Amanda, it's great you put in new headlights in but, please, have them properly adjusted. As a person whose had cataracts and now surgery for it. All the vehicles with these new LED lights are blinding other drivers. That's why drivers flick their lights because it does look like their high beams are on. My two cents. I share your anxiety about riding in gondolas. But those views were spectacular and worth the push through any fears.
Many of the Newer Vans leave MUCH to be desired as many things do go wrong! Many Van life folks prefer to build out their own vans.

Amanda, when you changed your headlights was it just a matter of the bulbs or is there more to it? My lights are horrible. I need to do the same thing so I'm curious as how to do it. Great video! Frank is so sweet. Very active. Meds are working it seems. Just gotta love him. ❤ I miss my dog that died earlier this year. 😢. He was and is still loved. ❤. Loved your vlog, Amanda! Just so you know, your channel is my favourite. The gondola ride is a very creative thing to do while you are in your home area; good stuff! The sunset was S U B L I M E !! I found your reflections on van building really interesting: how there is no wrong way, and how there are many paths to completeting this endeavour. Particularly interesting is that your van is designed to store things... whereas, others may use a similar space in a very different manner. Also, I can definitely see how a cosier space is more appealing. Hugs to you and Frank! xo

I totally agree. I have a 90 dodge b350 and I love it. They are so easy to work on and fix. I can do most of it myself.

Amanda~ I LUV your van and your van life. Simplicity is where it's at and watching your channel reminds me of all the things I loved about my previous van life. So thank you for sharing! Also loved hearing about the new headlights- it sure is about those simple things as we get older I find!
Charging drives: If you put the vehicle in a high idle, ~1000-1200rpm that would allow your alternator to produce a good amount of energy for charging. Can do that for 30-120minutes to add some juice to your battery as needed. Without having to move the vehicle around, you would probably save gas doing that during the cooler months. During hotter months, you might need the airflow of a moving van to keep everything cool. A small generator might be the way to go to save gas and the engine wear of using your van as a generator. Honda makes small, more quite, generators and looking for a used one might help save some money.
