You guys have quickly become one of my all time favourite cooking CZcams channels! I love how easy it is to make vegan food, and you guys are making it so fun!
In the US, we still call them butter beans (or mature lima beans). Navy/Cannelini/Great Northern beans are all separate varieties of white bean that are distinct from butter beans. :)
I don't think I had one vegetarian meal when I visited Ireland, so it's nice to see you two helping to change the face of Irish cuisine. I am not a vegan myself, but I love how your channel makes meat free days so affordable and accessible.
Hello guys, Just did this recipe and it was AMAZING :D thank you so much it was really what I needed and I will do it again tomorrow for work, keep up the good work
For someone like me who likes to "wing" it and cooking helps my creative side, i love these quick videos! thank you guys much love from Pensacola Florida. I will be making this stew this weekend :)
Have you ever tried a handstand? Because these guys can do multiple handstands; I've never seen so much energy and empathy in my life, love those guys. So cleanin up the mess would take : set timer: less than 5 minutes!!
Bonjour!! This has become my favourite channel!!. Meat and dairy are such a huge part of my culture. Since I've become a vegetarian due to dairy allergies 😢 I've been quite isolated from a few of my favourite favourite meals + desserts lol Thanx for the added ideas. You had me at 5 minutes haha. Love from Morrocco xo
Do you ever leave a written version of your recipes?like in the video - comment section...I find it sometimes hard to understand all the words you say,no offence just not-english-speakers problems :) great food! cheers from Italy
Ingredients are as follows and in the order they are added: 2 Tbs Veggie Stock 2 Cloves Garlic, minced 1/2 Carrot, grated 5 Scallions, chopped 1 Handful Kalamata Olives, pitted and torn to taste 1 Head Fennel, thinly sliced 1 Bay Leaf 1/2 Chili Pepper(optional,) diced 1 Can Butter Beans(name varies by country,) drained and rinsed 2 Cans Chopped Tomatoes 1/2 100 Mil Tube Tomato Paste 1 Organic Lemon, quartered (they used Bergamot as it was in season) Chopped Parsley, chopped with half reserved as garnish Salt and Pepper to taste
Am doing Veganuary 2018 and your recipe came up. Am going to be making this but will cook it down a bit as you alluded to. Thanks for a great looking recipe.
Kali oreksi!!! Really great!!! But what if you used lentils and oregano in that stew instead of beans? by the way those beans are called gigantes in Greek!!! It would actually be a very close version of a traditional Greek stew we eat very often. Great work!!!
I'm going to do a riff on this but with what I have on hand. So I am going to use fennel seed since I don't have fresh fennel. First I'll be cooking some dried giant Limas. The Greeks call them Gigantes. I'll have to use refrigerated lemon juice unfortunately. I think it will taste great though. Thanks for the inspiration.
OK I'm actually getting serious now (in the sense that I'm temporarily abandoning my sense of humour for curiousity, not mutually exclusive etc.) So what you guys made is a stew. STEW is the operative word. Because what I excel at is vegan stews. Now I know what to call them. Also use day before left overs I'm brilliant have great instincts and if you believe that I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge at a cut rate price, also real estate in the Florida Keys …. I astound myself and forget to write stuff down, life is a serious of surprises, no wonder. Today there was wild rice, wilted spinach, a mushroom ragu, a sort of ratatouille with a bean puree to give it body; deconstruct it and it's awesome. Plus I found a vegan cheese sauce on-line that is much more about the herbs and spices than it is about anything else; potato instead of nuts; a Macdougal fan but fantastic stuff, made the stew. I love this food; I volunteer at a soup kitchen and you never know what is going to fall off the back of the truck .. what I find time after time is that 75% of the people choose the vegetarian over the omnivore version, I love that day of the week. You go guys!
In the states butter beans may be called Lima beans but not Navy beans. Navy beans are small almost round white beans often used here to make baked beans.
Gonna try this next week atm im doing vegan irish stew with honey, bottle of ale if choose guiness, baby red potatoe, celery, tom puree, veg stock, bay leafy, carrots, onion, garlic, mushroom, thyme, crusty bread.
guys full recipie pleses wow i locd fennel i add to my juices so much health benifits you just thinks of everything amazing anc please keep it coming 5min recipies i appricate it soooooooo much thanks with a never end xx
This looks great and I’ll definitely try it. Would liked to have seen inside the pan while you were cooking it and I don’t care about the 5 minute thing. I’d rather you slowed down as watching you create it is half the fun.
But that's not fair! I want a twin too , so I can cook it in five minutes. Since I am alone, it will take 10 minutes in total 😂 However, tomorrow I'll try this recipe 💪 love your videos!
They are called Great Northern beans Navy beans sort of only they were little bigger and pea beans. I'm from New England and I make the best baked beans in the world!
We call those beans that you used either giant lima beans or butter beans! That is not a navy bean and navy bean is far smaller and all the other white beans I mentioned were even smaller than that. So you better check what America calls things before you say it like you know it! :-)
Haha omg these bros are hot and crazy funny cooking fast for 5 minutes. Oh my good they are just rushing threw it bur its amazing thst the 2 of them are working together side by side takin turn chopping the vegetable and stirring the pot. Umm i couldn't follow their point i believe cooking on a high heat is dangerous and i think the vegetables all needed more time and seasoning. But omg they made me laugh so hard. 😂its a good thing ome dude cam chop super fast while the other dude stirring. Otherwise they could never finished on time. Great video guys. Cute and full of excitement.
This one was too boring for me. I don't like olives, so maybe removing them ruined the recipe, but the lack of flavour overall made for a pretty generic stew. I don't know what's greek about it, just tastes like tomatoes and herbs.
Tbh, I really hate the 5 minutes segments. You guys look really rushed and the food and everything looks very sloppy. I do like the recipes in general though, which is the main reason why I still watch these videos.

Big BIG love Lucy!! Thankyouthankyouthankyou for all your support and kind words!!! We're so thrilled that we can help you in any way 💚💚💚

Spot on. :-D
I was going to say the exact same thing!
Kali orexi! It looks delish, chili is not a Greek spice, but "regani" (Oregano) is. Kalamata olives are the best, that's where my dad is from.
Ah nice one! 😊😊
And butter beans are not Greek. They're Peruvian!
@@ewellford True! The butter/ lima beans are the closest to the Greek white beans➡️ fasolia gigantes
Oh im salivating watching this in middle of the night.. love your channel (& the accent) guys! keep doing your thing. Cheers! :)
Hhaha cheers Saranya! 😄😄👍
I don't think I had one vegetarian meal when I visited Ireland, so it's nice to see you two helping to change the face of Irish cuisine. I am not a vegan myself, but I love how your channel makes meat free days so affordable and accessible.
When you say five minutes, you forget you have four hands working at the same time while the rest of us don't have a twin to work with. Lol
Hello guys,
Just did this recipe and it was AMAZING :D thank you so much it was really what I needed and I will do it again tomorrow for work, keep up the good work
For someone like me who likes to "wing" it and cooking helps my creative side, i love these quick videos! thank you guys much love from Pensacola Florida. I will be making this stew this weekend :)
60 mins to clean up the mess they made 🤗🤗
Even longer!!! 😄😄
Plus ingredients already set on the counter ready to use. It isn't 5 mins it is really 30 mins and its okay. There are great recipes.
Have you ever tried a handstand? Because these guys can do multiple handstands; I've never seen so much energy and empathy in my life, love those guys. So cleanin up the mess would take : set timer: less than 5 minutes!!

Morgan Freeman Thank you! very much I didn´t even check the Website, my fault..!
As of 10/17 no recipes on the web site because of a "site redesign". It's been that way for weeks.
Ingredients are as follows and in the order they are added:
2 Tbs Veggie Stock
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 Carrot, grated
5 Scallions, chopped
1 Handful Kalamata Olives, pitted and torn to taste
1 Head Fennel, thinly sliced
1 Bay Leaf
1/2 Chili Pepper(optional,) diced
1 Can Butter Beans(name varies by country,) drained and rinsed
2 Cans Chopped Tomatoes
1/2 100 Mil Tube Tomato Paste
1 Organic Lemon, quartered (they used Bergamot as it was in season)
Chopped Parsley, chopped with half reserved as garnish
Salt and Pepper to taste
Looks amazing! I like that the lemon was thrown in and not juice squeezed. Kalamatas are heavenly as well!!
Awesome. Will have to try this!
Am doing Veganuary 2018 and your recipe came up. Am going to be making this but will cook it down a bit as you alluded to. Thanks for a great looking recipe.
Ah super stuff Kathy- best of luck with it! Glad you enjoyed 😄👍🙌💚
I just found you guys, hooray. Finding great vegetable based recipes isn't always easy.
Kali oreksi!!! Really great!!! But what if you used lentils and oregano in that stew instead of beans? by the way those beans are called gigantes in Greek!!! It would actually be a very close version of a traditional Greek stew we eat very often. Great work!!!

The dark art of using salt and pepper...Love ya'll!
I didn't know fennel fronds were edible. I'll start using them.
Just made this one for supper, but to be even more Greek I added a little fresh oregano. Man, such a great recipe!
guys full recipie pleses wow i locd fennel i add to my juices so much health benifits you just thinks of everything amazing anc please keep it coming 5min recipies i appricate it soooooooo much thanks with a never end xx
Butter beans are a variety of Lima bean that’s white. I’ve always seen them called butter beans, and I’m in the U.S. Navy beans are different.

Cook this in a high quality extra virgin olive oil. Extremely good for you in numerous ways, including the heart. ❤️
Guys, that seasoning shelf looks just like mine!😂😂😂
It's so handy to have all your spices like that! 👌👌
But that's not fair! I want a twin too , so I can cook it in five minutes. Since I am alone, it will take 10 minutes in total 😂
However, tomorrow I'll try this recipe 💪 love your videos!
They are called Great Northern beans Navy beans sort of only they were little bigger and pea beans. I'm from New England and I make the best baked beans in the world!

amazing😍😍 I can't find the written recipe im the website xx
Hey Sandri we'll have the written recipe up soon! 👍👍
The Happy Pear thank you so much❤
What vegetable can I replace fennel with? I don't like fennel... Thanks!
what renders this 'Greek'? The olives? We really never put olives in stews of any sort.
so wish like anise/licorice/fennel but not. Suggestion for sub? Someone suggested celery but is there something else?
Thanks for your support guys! Love to collaborate in the future if you're keen? :) Drop us a line via Veganuary.com/contact

Tina Ts. Kalamata olives are Greek Maybe that's the Greek reference.

5 minutes to cook, 30 minutes to clean lol.
Ha that's always the way! 😄😄
First like first comment first view
do you want a (vegan)cookie?
This one was too boring for me. I don't like olives, so maybe removing them ruined the recipe, but the lack of flavour overall made for a pretty generic stew. I don't know what's greek about it, just tastes like tomatoes and herbs.
