    Wow, I stayed in Bradley/Paterson when I went to OSU. I stayed in a double, quad and a single while there. It wasn't an honors dorm back then. It has changed a bit, but eerily looks similar, 😂, I remember things, memories, that flooded back as you walked through the lobby, and the floors, lol. I spent many a day and night, playing pool and video games down in those lobbies. Also many a night as a night assistant, checking in guests as they came to visit residents after hours. Sneaking over to Mack/Canfield through the courtyard, lol.
    Can't reveal all the mischief we got into, but over in Paterson, that door past the kitchen, (that wasn't there back in the 90s, just a wall), in the lobby was a dorm room, there were like 3 coveted dorm rooms in that hall back then. I remember "someones" conducted a science experiment, placing packing tape, across the door jam, overlapping all the way up from the floor to the top of the door frame and somehow packing peanuts getting filled in through a slit in the top, filling up all of the space between the door and the tape. The experiment was to see how much mass was taken up by the peanuts and how long it would take for the "test subjects" to clean up the mess, I mean "mass" after loud banging occurred outside their door and they opened said door.... A very fruitful, interesting, successful experiment if I say so myself....
    I also see they still have the same BEDS! 😂 Glad the changed the bathroom situation, cause it was COMMUNAL. Walked into the doors and you had a row of showers on the on the right and row of toilets on the left. The WHOLE floor (well wing) shared the bathroom. On one side of the floor was mens and the other side was women and it flip flopped as you went up a floor. There was no more privacy than a public bathroom. And the tunnels!! Nope, you just used it to get to the other dorms or the commons.
    Ah, the memories... ENJOY your time there Maya! You can never get this time back, lol

    Hey! So I’m looking on the osu website of how to loft the beds all the way up but it’s saying that I can’t for Bradley. Do you know where I could find the info?

    • @mayasivakumaran6948
      @mayasivakumaran6948  Před 2 lety

      Hi! So unless something changed from last year, you can definitely loft your bed all the way up (but not halfway). I got an email in late July with a link to enter your request for bed lofting, so just be on the lookout for that in the next few weeks (mine was July 22).

    How do you know if you're accepted into an Honors dorm? Can you pick which dorm you want to live in? Can you explain a bit how OSU housing process works?

    • @mayasivakumaran6948
      @mayasivakumaran6948  Před rokem

      Hi Michelle! If you're accepted into Honors, you are required to live in either Taylor Tower, Bradley Hall, or Lincoln Tower. You can preference them during the housing selection process. You will be placed depending on that preference and the availability. Hope that helps!

    • @mayasivakumaran6948
      @mayasivakumaran6948  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi! There are pros and cons to the honors dorms. I might be biased, but I personally think Bradley is the best because of the location and community. I also think the room layouts are the best. Taylor Tower isn't bad either. It's on North campus and has A/C, but they are mainly quads, so there are 4 people in each room. Between those two, it's up to your preference. Lincoln is nice if you want to be in a larger suite-style dorm, however I personally think this is my least favorite option since it's on West campus and farther away from a lot of things.

    Hello, Maya, I am a freshman student and going to live at the Bradley Hall, I am here want to ask some questions. First, it's about major problem. My major is Economic, so I want ask how many people live here study this? cuz have a peer who study the same things would be great, I assume. Second, its about the distance. cuz my major is Econ, so probably most of my course are in north campus. So, it is very far from north capus? cuz part of reason I think about that is because the weather wiil more colder since we come to Columbus. So, distancely speaking, it that good, cuz we probably do not want get up early if ouside is very cold(LOL). Third, is about AC. I am not sure about it. It is possible will be installed at the next year? cuz in the fall semester, that is fine. But if we step into summer, things will got tough if we do not have AC. So, that is the question I wanna ask. And Hope your response. thx.

      @mayasivakumaran6948  Před 2 lety

      Hi! There is a good mix of people with different majors in Bradley Hall, so I’m sure you’ll find someone in Economics if you search around a bit. It’s about a 8-10 minute walk from north campus. You can get to the furthest end of north campus in 15 minutes. Lastly, good news! Bradley got A/C over the summer! So, no more summer heat issues.
