This model has a better paint job than my actual car.
Ferrari race cars were often painted with mops, brooms, and roller brushes
Last minute before going to the docks, back in the day..
You needed to see them in the pits, up close, at Daytona and Sebring....
NOT at the auto shows and later races back in Yurp!
J.C.
Breaks out airbrush, and heads for garage...lol
This model looks great a real work of art your scratch building techniques are top notch also I really enjoyed this one thanks
Dude my black 69 charger is my dream car and I'm 18
@@375GTB those old photos showing the race cars were actually taken from the pit lanes and the cars had a good paint job.
Plasmo: It's not perfect.
Me: Are you kidding me?😂
Maybe the flawless paint is too shiny.
He's too much overconfident of his skills. Imo
PLS SUBSCRIBE
he's right it's not perfect...it's god-like !
And again, modelling fans around the world, rise to a standing ovation. Encore Maestro, encore.
I only gave a thumbs up because of the paint did not expect it to be that shinny
Your like the Bob Ross of scale models.
Please, not "your". It is "you're" or "you are"!!!!!!!
please don't grammar nazi if ppl understand what he means by it
You mean he's a pretty average painter? Also what's with the butt hurt illiterates in the comments?
I'm only here to declare that your username is the most inventive and unique I have ever seen here on CZcams!
19:52 when the polishing so good you can look out David's window.
*The polishing is "good" IF you can kook out David's window.
What you see is not sky - that is the heavens... and those hands - the hands of a modelling God!
@@akjoh2540 stupid?
That be crazy
@@angrymario8259 David.... Fabulous...
Next video: I realised the whole model is not accurate, so I made a new one from epoxy putty
JabwooK hilarious - like MyMechanics “I make a new one” xD
@@allenmueller and is cheaper too :D
From original model i used only modified rubber tires
From the original model I only used nothing
That's Ebroin Song you're talking about...check out his Tirpitz build series
I showed this video to my brother. He builds full size cars both as restorations and drag racing. They are amazing, beautiful machines. He has built some models in the past. He couyld not believe your work. I just wanted to pass on to you what I thought was such high praise.
I know I’m way late on this but I’ve only recently found your channel but some of your finished model shots could easily be mistaken for the real car, you’re simply that good. I don’t even build models but I find your videos beautifully done and very informative and oddly relaxing.
Plasmo : And now no more modifications...
Everybody watching : Mhmm.....
Love your models and all the modifications. Keep up the good work !!

@@ungurdani8346 Like I've said it once before; I find it very interesting and educational, to be watching this. In the very way; how the plastic models, get painted and glued.
The only thing that's missing; in each and every single plastic model kits is, there's no educational document and an aluminum background board.
Someone give this person a medal. If that's not perfect I don't know what is.
l love all the mods, the air ducts look amazing!
David, as my grandmother would say, "you have the patience of a saint". Another stunning build.
PLASMO always goes the extra mile to make things more detailed
"I hope I didn't discourage you from this kit; you can simply build it straight out of the box. In my opinion, the difference will be almost negligible."
I appreciate the encouragement, although I'm going to respectfully disagree. ;)
I scoffed loudly when he said that. Bold of him to assume I'd even finish this model.
The voice together with the dedication to perfection makes this channel unique.
There's only one word I can think of that describes this video: humbling.
Thax for the words i couldnt find, cheers.
Amazing! Would love to see some weathering/damage on a Le Mans car for something post-race! Incredible work as always, David!

I could only wish I had the eye for detail and the patience to do this. This is one of the most beautiful cars that ever came from Maranello.
The presentation at the end looks like the real thing, not like a model....simply amazing
Absolute masterpiece, the finish is amazing. Very neatly filmed too, especially the final presentation. You say "not perfect", what on earth could you do to improve on this build?
These bolts/rivets are SO small, I would struggle to get them off the tree, let alone get them onto the car. A wonderful build and a pleasure to watch.
All the Best from Scotland,
Dougie.
Just an amazing build overall. When Plasmo builds a kit, he actually builds stuff for it.
Your attention to detail is nothing short of awe inspiring! You have single-handedly gotten me back into the hobby and using your techniques the quality of models I can make now is lighyears ahead of what I used to do. Thank you so much! BTW, doing a warhammer 40k video would probably get a ton of views and certainly be an inspiration to all the people in the mini-wargaming hobby!
It's been many years since I put together my last model. You brought back many memories; Thank you!
I think I will pick up my old hobby again.
Scale modelling perfectionist is back with another unbelievable scale model
A red sharpie makes great tailights. Just mark on the “inside” of the clear part. Blue works great for airplane lights, again, paint the inside, not outside of the clear lense.
I've recently bought this kit and your video is not only a great display of your brilliant modelling talent, but also brilliant reference and research for the car in question.
Many thanks, David. Great video.
OMG! I’ve never seen such a perfect 330 P4 scale model honestly, if you only see the final result, it looks like the 1/1, incredible!
I really enjoy it when you modify a model. We learn so much.
Absolutely breathtaking. A stunning car and the level of effort, detail and the result is something the Maranello team would be proud of I'm sure.
Great work my friend.
I was literally holding my breath watching him handle the small parts
The detailed information and coating tips you provide are invaluable to someone like me. I've been away from plastic modeling for a while, and am preparing to build some kits this winter. So, leaving all the items I've collected in the box, while I learn more has been a smart move. Thanks to your videos, I'm sure my results will be better than they would've been otherwise. Thank you!
Thank you! I have been struggling with model car gloss coats for months, this looks much easier than all of the 2 pack products I have been messing around with!
Amazing! I went straight to the end to look at the finished model, and compared it to the photograph I took at the LeMans race (I had a photographer's pass for trackside access). It is incredibly accurate, and only after going back to watch the whole video, did I realise what a massive amount of work you did to match the car in the kit to the real-world full-size car. Thank you!
Me: Hmmm what type of model should I do next.
CZcams: Plasmo uploaded a video
Me: Car model it is.
Thanks for the inspiration :3
Haha same !
@@sierrafox1779 Just think; the plastic model Tijuana taxi had grabbed, grabbed everybody's attention the most. Especially during the mid and late 1970s.
You are on another level. No other CZcams model builder even comes close to your attention to detail and patience. Thank you for your indepth videos. Always a pleasure watching
I bought the same kit a few years back when I was in Japan with the family visiting the in-laws, also bought the GT40 as well. I wasn’t too sure what the Ferrari was like to build till today, thank you for such a fantastic build, didn’t realise there were inaccuracies in the kit, thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to the next vid 😀
Anyone else get back to that model they've been procrastinating over when they see a new plasmo vid???...i thought so...stunning as always mate
Problem is mine are not as nice as Plasmo's
The way it catches light is amazing !
I’ve been watching your channel for years and have seen every video. I revisited this today and I have to say this is one of my favourite builds still. Amazing quality
The epoxy fairings for the mirrors, the smoothness of paint and varnish, you sir are a craftsman! Thank you for shairing your technique with us.
Looks great mate. I was wondering where you what been! Welcome back! 😉
Plasmo, I am typically mostly interested in aviation models, but so far this has been my favorite video of yours that I have watched. The modifications you made were absolutely amazing! I'm just getting back into modeling and this video has given me a ton of inspiration with what can be accomplished. Also, great choice of car. The P4 is one of my all time favorite Ferrari designs.
Opět super práce, a zase jsem pochytil alespoň jednu věc co neznám.
Díky moc za super videa👍
This is a beautiful car. I showed the reveal portion of the video to my wife, and she couldn’t believe it was a model. Simply gorgeous. Well done!
I was having withdrawals glad you uploaded a vid today. Amazing talent.
So you finally upload a video, I've been crying for weeks dude.
Krása!!!
Jen tak dál, též stavím a jednou bych chtěl dosáhnout stejných schopností.
Držím palce a ať se vše daří jak má jsi pro mě velká inspirace
Watched this twice, It’s still hard to comprehend how incredibly good this is.
After watching the complete video : such a beauty and sooo many realistic details !
The most beautiful car of all time. You've done a perfect job!
I agree,,,and I was a Ford GT fan at the time.
O seu trabalho é o cúmulo da perfeição.
That's beautiful. Very well done. Love the results you got from the clear without having to use toxic 2k paints.
Wow stunning worksmenship your a craftsmen. I can't believe the level of detail. Amazing
Usually I hate music on videos like this, but yours are really relaxing to watch =)
Incredible build and nice advice on this kit. Your results are absolutely Awesome!
Another mind blowing model David, the modifications you made were amazing and the addition of a ceramic coating is genius. Awesome work yet again mate
Nice build - this Ferrari is my favorite car of all time.
A little FYI, in the video there is commentary that the 330 P4 and 412P are different cars, this is not quite correct.
Given they were hand built race cars every chassis varied slightly and cars had multiple body panels as they were crashed and rebuilt. Mirror configuration changes were made car to car and panel to panel.
The 330 P4 and 412P were exactly the same chassis, however, the 412P were sold by Ferrari factory to private teams and ran with carburetors. The P4 ran with mechanical fuel injection by the Ferrari factory team since it was new technology and faster. Mr Ferrari, ever image conscious, held back the fuel injection so the Ferrari factory had an edge (read faster cars) than the private teams he sold his cars to!
Bellissimo!
Wow, I certainly didn't expect that. I love the attention to detail. An absolutely stunning model.
I feel humbled by your skill. You are a master. Thank you for sharing.
A handy tip for polishing is to pre-load the polishing tool with compound before using it. Otherwise, you're essentially just sucking the compound off the surface with that dry cotton ball, which means you'll generally end up using way more compound than you really have to. Use one ball for each compound as well. It's going to pick up compound regardless, and you can't wash that stuff out, so you might as well just have a set of polishing consumables for each grit, especially considering that you do this for a living as far as I can tell. My father was a body-man (collision repair) at a GM dealership for almost 50 years, building hot-rods on the side until it became unprofitable, and he taught me quite a few things. There wasn't a thing going on in that shop that he didn't know every detail about, including PnP (paint and polish). Any time he'd see me painting or sanding/polishing my models as a kid, he'd always show me what I was doing wrong. One of the things he taught me is that you use separate tools for each compound, and you load each up with the compound it's intended for. This also quickens the polishing process, in that you don't have to bother with the futile process of washing compound off, and when you're at the next step, you can just clean the part, throw the next wheel/swab in, put some fresh compound on it and get after it.
If someone told me to choose between having the real thing or your model, I would choose your model. So incredibly awesome!
Well, if you had the real thing you could sell it, and then buy it off him and have millions of dollars left over, but yes, point taken.
As always your patience and attention to detail astound me. This is absolutely beautiful!
What an beautifully shaped model, one of my favorite Ferraris! Nice work- and thanks for the tips, especially the wire winding!
the announcement of the film Ford vs. Ferrari)))
Amazing! The final presentation almost made me emotional.
Are you interested in any of the modern hybrid LMP-1 machines? I'd love to see you build one of those.
Good idea
I don’t recall seeing a better paint finish in the last 7 years of examining models. Utterly superb!
OMG! This model builder is genius! I love the video, the build and the results. BR from Germany, Frank
When the paint is so perfect you can see imperfections on your screen
I've been waiting for this for a long time and I clicked this button with lightning speed
CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS BEAUTIFULL MODEL! Many years ago, it was 25 April 1967, I saw the Ferrari 330 P4 race an win the 1000 Km of Monza, driven by Bandini - Amon, with Scarfiotti Parkes on second place. After the victory, as usual a I nvaded the pit lane and I reached the car, smelling the hot engine parfume of oil, burned tire, and smashed mosquitos in the front of the car. The sound of the 12 cilinder, deep, loud and furious is something the I never forgot. Thank you for this beautifull reproduction of the best racing car ever!
Still trying to figure out why this has ANY thumbs down. Maybe some people searched "how to tame and ride a unicorn donkey" and this popped up. This how to build a beautiful and brilliant Ferrari 330 to perfection! Awesome PLASMO!
I was just wondering: what is perfection for Plasmo ???
Amazing as usual!!
I've enjoyed many of his videos...he's an an artisan and absolute perfectionist. Good things!
Yeah! It's really funny to hear "My model is not perfect" from him)
Next up: I will be building a Honda Trail 90 in 1/48 scale so I will need to make some modifications to this 1/72 scale Bismark model.
This is exactly the content I've been looking for!
You, sir, are a 10th Dan black belt in model making and accuracy. And much appreciation for narrating in English. Outstanding camera work.
Lol, your showing fujimi how to build a p4 in the right way
Hopefully the Ford versus Ferrari movie convinces them to make a new kit that's actually correct...
Who’s revisiting this after watching Ford vs. Ferrari?

Outstanding work David! You never fail to impress with your videos and your modeling skills. Keep them coming.
Bravo! Learned so much from this presentation. Thank you! Just bought this model kit on eBay. Very excited to use your tips and ideas.
It's as if the real thing is there in front of me on screen!
"making the model a *little bit* more detailed.
-proceeds to scratch build parts because the whole model is all wrong.
Absolutely stunning. A masterpiece. My favorite of all your videos. Love it David 😍. Thank you my friend.
Nádherná práce a ten cit pro detaily. No prostě úžesné
This is amazing. Your a real artist. Stunning.
Truly incredible model making. Awesome car, awesome build! Always enjoy your videos - thanks!
That's what I call being in control! Incredible job.
Your commitment to detail is commendable. You must have the patience of a saint.
Parabens David, que trabalho lindo e espetacular.
You do such amazing work, it really makes want to get back into doing modeling again.
The dashboard and mirrors turned out great, you'd never know by telling that you fab'd the pieces yourself.
Your attention to detail and craftsmanship is so inspiring to watch, well done!
Thank you for this video,i've learned some new ways to improve my models. (Nowhere near the quality of your builds, they are superb!)
You are a master sir. Perfect choice of soundtrack throughout your film. I'm looking forward to your next one. Thank you.
the micro rivets just tops everything man! awesome build as always
Excellent finish this is the best scale model build I've seen so far. You did a great job polishing the paint. Excellent job.
Looks about perfect to me David - great job, thanks for sharing!
I think I've watched this video 40 times already. I bought the same kit and am in the middle of building it now using your modifications and helpful hints!
Amazing video, thoroughly enjoyed your commentating and explanations for everything too!
Your model building is always inspiring.....great job as usual !!
I like doing the fine detail on the 1/24 sc. It's nerve wracking at times but I enjoy every minute of it. Good thoughts to everyone out there.Pete and Dee from Sacramento California USA. Oh,one more thing.Thank you for all your time and effort into making these videos.
