Love you guys, so glad you had a great day. Enjoy wales
Me and my wife are going to borton on the water next weekend for our 5 year wedding anniversary, looking forward to it!
You guys asked in a recent video what castles you should go to...in England you should try Warwick castle for sure!
Perfect đđđ
You all should hook up with Jesse and Will from the TopJaw channel on your next food video. They usually feature a variety of cheap eats around England.
You were right first time, it IS pronounced "doomsday". To paraphrase Terry Pratchett, it was written before they invented spelling! đ
Yep - looks Domesday but pronounced Doomsday :D
It also actually means Dooms-day. It was first census of England and the English people thought that the King/central government knowing that much about them would be the same as the biblical end of days: the day of doom or 'Doomsday'.
It also recorded the wealth of every community and noble to prevent tax-dodging which may also have been a factor in how the people named it!
before the spelling police were invented I think
Yes and Granary isn't pronounced Grainery....its Granary.
Samuel Johnson wrote the "regulations" in his dictionary c1755. www.bl.uk/learning/langlit/dic/johnson/1755johnsonsdictionary.html
Public footpaths across private land and open countryside are probably the most underrated, but greatest part, of the British countryside
Private land is probably the worst bit about the English countryside. It's friggin everywhere
I agree with Ann. Massive lack of public land for parks. That's why you have to trapse through private land.
I kind of assumed most countries have right-of-way rules?
No. In the USA there isn't the same historic right of way system once you leave the highways. There are lots of parks, but you won't find public rights of way across private farmland. However, what the USA does have is a huge amount of public land and national and state parks.
The system of public footpaths in England and Wales (Scotland is different) are just routes which were customarily used by local people to get from place to place and then the morphed into historical rights of way in law. Many, of course, became public highways but other remain footpaths bridlepaths or other rights of way. The system of land ownership in the USA came about much faster and didn't have those centuries, or even millennia of historical usage.
@@hindler No they do not.
The Slaughters are one of the few places in the UK not to have a War Memorial. They are what's know as a "Doubly Thankful Village" everyone who served in both the First and Second World War came home. We're lucky to live not far from here and the kids love paddling in the River Eye, all that water eventually gets to the Thames and runs through London...
It's always interesting to see your own country from someone else's perspective. I never really thought, for instance, about how lucky we are to have public footpaths! I use them all the time but definitely take them for granted. Thanks for making me look at my every day life with fresh eyes and a bit more appreciation! Hope you enjoyed your time over here.
Anne i'm from Australia , now in the Cotswolds and the right of way rights are non existent back home. There was a famous High Court case in the '90's that was Aboriginals asking for right of way rights along ancient paths that are now privately owned farms. Even that concept got rejected by Australian law. You english don't realise just how lucky you are.
I live in Somerset and always looked forward to Badminton Horse trails once a year ! Didnât realise how lucky we Brits are x I can ride my horse peacefully in countryside like this and even occasionally do a pub crawl with him xx
You cannot beat our English country side.Perfect.
It warms my heart how much you guys dig the countryside đđ»
I just found you guys about 3 days ago and I have to tell you I am OBSESSED.
Aww, thanks for the comment. Glad to have you along for the adventure!
Hollie you have to do like I did and go back to the very beginning when they first started and binge-watch the entire Adventure, trust me it's better than anything on TV
We are bingeing too.
Welcome My entire family loves this channel!
same thing I did !
Hi Guys.
Please please please get up to Northumberland. Beautiful beaches, stunning countryside, castles (Harry Potter) wildlife and lovely lovely people.
the history on this place is amazing!
I've always wanted to go to England! What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing!!
Don't forget Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland! And while in NI pop over to border to have your mind blown by the Republic of Ireland!
MockingFaith England is a lot better really though
Its really not Paul
MockingFaith it is đ
You are lying to yourself Jim!
I love watching videos like this. My family is originally from England, moved to Florida in the early 1900âs. My parents briefly lived in bath. Itâs my dream to go to England, especially the beautiful countryside.
love how your drone shots lead you through the story! Great work guys!
Absolutely beautiful video! So well edited and love the intro! Well done guys! I could totally feel Allison's happiness when you were walking in the beautiful English countryside. Can't beat a self drive holiday staying in little Air BNBs in villages along the way. My husband and I did one recently in the Luberon region in south east France. My idea of bliss!!
Another wonderful vlog. The production quality goes up and up. You make me realise how much I take the English countryside for granted. I think I need to slow down and smell the flowers. Thank you.
you guys seem like genuinely kind people you radiate such good energy, I enjoy your vlogs so much, love and light to you both â€ïž
Your vlogs just make me feel so relaxed and cosy. Iâm glad youâre enjoying England đŽó §ó ąó „ó źó §ó ż
So glad you are loving the Cotswolds! My favourite part of England. I work for a company who's mascot/symbol is the secretary bird (Chartered secretaries) so that made me chuckle! Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday here!
My grandmother is from Bourton-on-the-Water and I have many happy memories of walking from there upto Lower and then Upper Slaughter. It's lovely to see a different angle of a place I know so well.
I am happy that you like my country so much, there is so much to see that most of us never get to see ourselves but watching your videos we can see from our screens.
Just found your vlogs and itâs a Lockdown treat. âTo see oorsels as others see usâ as Robbie Burns once said. Your love and genuine enjoyment of what you are doing is heart warming and I wish tourists the World over were as thoughtful and sweet and engaged as you two. Keep on doing what you do so well!
I want to go to the English countryside so badly! Just found you guys youâre living my dream life đ€Ł
You guys are amazing - as an English chap I got a warm fuzzy feeling when I watched the video. Also outstanding filming - editing - script, really enjoyable - thanks.
so glad you are enjoying the English countryside! I love your videos you are so positive and upbeat
Wow I need to go here im English but never been here I've been to many beautiful parts of England im gonna try this...glad you are enjoying our countryside im 53 and im still blown away how beautiful it is especially when you discover a place like this
Thank you for all your informative and enjoyable vids about my country! You are always welcome here!
Great videography! I will be staying in the Cotswolds for a week in mid February 2020. Can't wait. Your video was a great primer. I am ready for some relaxation in the English Countryside.
Your editing has gotten so much better of the past couple of months / vlogs, love the videos :)!
Just came across your channel and am now binge watching your UK vlogs. The quality and editing of your videos is superb and your enthusiasm and excitement for our country is infectious! Now I want to take a staycation in the Cotswolds!
Your England videos are my absolute favorite. So idyllic!
Oh my goodness! This day was great to see! Iâm so glad that you two love England cause Iâm an Anglophile myself and luv traveling there and always want to return or stay again. Are you guys gonna hit Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in northern Wales? Itâs touristy, but was one of those tourist places that I felt was worth going to. (Get a passport stamp at the place with the longest name in Britain! đ) And thereâs tons to see there and around there that is historic, beautiful, unique and amazing! I know youâre gonna enjoy it whatever you do and I canât wait to see the videos. Hope you get a chance to check Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch out!
We had a day out last week, we visited 3 villages in the cotswolds, visited Slaughter too, we popped in to see my sister in law and her husband who lives about 30 minutes from there for Tea and scones, then drove back home on the south coast. Lovely places, crazy busy though. That mill is so nice.
Okay Eric that could have been one of the coolest beginning's to one of your videos I've ever seen, I love your style and that bed and breakfast is ridiculous, my wife and I would absolutely love staying someplace like that.
Love your enthusiasm and that your enjoying my homeland!
That Airbnb you stayed at looks so cute!! And the footpaths, totally my favorite type of experience as well!! And that cafe and the ice cream...sheesh, it all just looked like a dream day!! đ
Iâm from the UK and have never heard of this place until seeing your video, Iâm definitely going to have to go and check Cotswolds out. It looks like such an interesting and stunning place to visit
I was in the Cotswalds Chipping Campden in mid August early September. Loved it. We stayed in a place that was built in 1601
So glad that you're enjoying the UK! I get even more excited to watch your UK travel vlogs as I recognise so many of the places you visit! Hope wales is treating you well (if you're still there!)
The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth.
Hi guys. Tuning into your vids educates me on what I've not seen yet
If your ever going north or even to Scotland you will be passing though the north east .so don't miss the opportunity you will love the many sights like Durham Cathedral and the Beamish Museum a real working Museum spread over many acres showing life a 150 years ago a must.
Love the wonderful, quieter, natural areas. The history is everywhere. Love the U.K. â€
Its great to see our country from a visitors point of view. and yes, we do sometimes appreciate how fortunate we are to live in a nice area. Personally we are literally 10 minutes either way from being in The New Forest one way, or the city of Salisbury the other way. Both lovely places, and one being somewhat in the public eye lately, we hope and trust visitors will still chose to come (however just one day of visiting should be enough) !
Really enjoying binge watching your vids.đ The Cotswolds is a lovely part of the country.
I love my country s history . nice vid thank you both
Looked like a beautiful day! We haven't explored the Cotswolds yet but it's going on our list for when we're back in the UK.
I am an English biker and travel all around the cotswolds on my bike. Your video makes us realise that we take it for granted and just how lucky we are. its good to see a visitors opinions.
Excellent video! The artistic shots were so much fun to watch. Love your style. We are visiting this town next month.
You guys always find some really nice places to stay
MYYYYYY GOOOODDDD!!! That's it- you've honestly inspired me to head down to the Cotswolds this weekend and I'm doing it. Currently looking up bed and breakfasts. Thank you SOOO MUCH for making this video guys!
England is such a beautifull land. a far green country indeed :)
I live so close to where you guys were! It's beautiful isn't it!? I'm very happy you had a lovely time. I really enjoyed this video. It's so good to see my every day views from another person's perspective đđ
Love your channel.. we have been watching you for a couple of years...realized recently you must be from our neck of the woods. We are from Jefferson co. MO. Living in Charleston SC now. Planning our first trip to England and using your trips as reference. Thanks adventurers!
You are a few weeks to late to get sunburn here , lol . It was really hot a few weeks ago . Glad you are enjoying yourselves đ
Great vlog! I ran across this by chance and have been watching for about a month. Keep it up!
woah so beautiful!!!
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the cotswolds, it really is a beautiful place. Bourton On The Water is one of my favourite places
We love bourton on the water. Particularly the model village. Always a favourite in my family.
We live in the Cotswolds we are extremely blessed. Love your pronunciation of the places đ
OMG. We stopped at the same exact place to have tea when we did our video on the cotswolds. I think we even sat at the same exact table đČđ€Żđ
What a lovely couple.so positive about everything.
Fabulous camerawork generally, but particularly on that quintessential place.
I grew up on the edge of the Cotswold in the heart of golden, honeycomb Cotswold stone buildings.
It is pronounced Doomsday! Iâm so glad you liked The Slaughters, itâs a beautiful part of the country x
I love the town & ambience...The couple is amazing..
Lovely B&B. Lovely countryside. Been a few years since I've been down that way, but the Cotswolds are so beautiful. Enjoyed the vid.
Already looking forward to your Snowdonia vid, as it's the part of the U.K I visit most. Hope you enjoyed it.đ
oh Wow! my wife & I have actually stayed there too, its gorgeous!
Yr great you two, u always look so happy together and enjoy life which is fab! So glad u enjoy the uk. love watching yr videos really quite relaxing and info is good on differant areas.
Can't quite place exactly what Bourton-on-the-Water pub you're at but I think it's where my brother works. England is such a small world! I've been following your England vlogs for a while and I swear I know someone who works/lives pretty much everywhere you've been (if I haven't lived there myself). So nice to see my end of the country appreciated đ
This video maybe some of your best photography. Very nice. Thank you.
I'm really enjoying your videos keep up the good work. You go to some beautiful places.
Good choice choosing the Hobgoblin, it's a lovely drink, the whole line of Wychwood drinks are so nice!
Hi! Iâm so glad you have gone to The Slaughters and Bourton on the Water! I grew up (and my family has come from for generations) in Chipping Norton which is literally a few miles up the road from Bourton on the Water.....it was lovely to see âhomeâ from your perspective. I think others have mentioned that you pronounce Domesday âdoomsdayâ too....hope you love Snowdonia as that is an incredibly beautiful area too đ
REALLY great opening sequence with the curtains and the drone "reveal. Nice job!! I may steal that for my next Motorhome video.
Nice to see you back in the UK.I always love watching your videos.
Love your videos! No offense to London, but it's nice to see fellow USers go to somewhere in the UK other than only London. I'm just amazed at the sense of history there. Where I was raised and still reside, a building from circa 1850 is most likely a county or state historic site.
What a great place to stay! Thanks for a great video đ
I know I will get corrected for this, but the general difference between walk and hike is âa walkâ is, normally a shortish distance travelled by foot and you finish back at the place you started.
A hike is travelling by foot from point A to a point B, normally the distance is minimum 3-4 miles.
There are groups that meet at country pubs and do long walks of 5 to 10miles, they are called Ramblers. A group would meet at the pub near my home, there was normally 30 to 50 people in the group. Theyâd go for a 12 to 15mile ramble along the public footpaths, and bridleways that criss cross the British Isles. At the end theyâd then have lunch and a pint or two back they got back to the pub.
these are by far the best videos of all the youtubers
Loving the videos of your trips to the UK . Definitely recommend going back to Wales and visiting Llandudno, Beaumaris, betws-y-coed, Anglesey, Porthmadog and Barmouth đđ
I love when these guys hit the shores of our crumbly little island.
Beautiful video, glad you're enjoying my part of the world. BTW Your popularity appears to be on the increase day by day.
"Enjoy" X
Your vlogs from the UK are your best. My country has beautiful places and you do tgdm justice
Have been traveling vicariously during quarantine! Bourton On The Water is one of my favorite villages. If you ever pass back through, look for their âmini-villageâ!!
Glad you enjoyed your time here in Gloucestershire. It can be a bit expensive and has a tendency to be a tourist trap on warm weekends, but it is achingly pretty.
But what is your obsession with sheep? đ
Wow, that converted Granary is so cool/quaint!
Just brilliant to watch.
Iâm hooked . This is so nice to see. Thank you for visiting our country and may you return one day. Subscribed.... love it !
I really enjoyed this, thank you. I hope you go to Conwy in North Wales. The view of the castle as you drive across the bridge is spectacular and unforgettable. Also, only a few miles from there is The Great Orme in Llandudno. There are Bronze Age Copper Mines (4,000 years old!) there that you can visit. Google Conwy Castle and Great Orme Mines. Also in Conwy is Plas Mawr a Tudor House well worth going to as it looks just as it did when the family were living there. For a couple who love history so much, you'll be blown away.
Never long enough guys. I could watch you for hours
Hi guys! Enjoy your trip!Nice place!... from Bucharest-Romania , INA!
I love that opening drone shot, that was fantastic!!
If you'd been in Bourton a few weeks ago, you'd have witnessed the football (soccer) game that the town plays in that waterway next to the pub you were at. It is a lovely part of the world!
That opening sequence with the bedroom window leading to an aerial shot would have been confined to a big budget commercial film just a few years ago. You do some of the most accomplished travelogue material on You Tube.
Another great video guys lovely countryside
Casa bellissima e villaggio incantevole, da fiaba!đ
Love all your posts....been watching for hours now...your take on our country is great I just have no idea how you guys eat so much hahaha
You sure find some stunning places to stay in.
stream bridge and willow tree! Mill tea house is perfect! even the ducks dine there ! and the sheep too!
5:52 What a delicious-looking cappuccino! I bet Allison's caffe latte was delicious too!
Additionally, the town in the Cotswolds looks pretty for being old-fashioned!
Well chosen content, expertly presented - lovely video, thank you.
You two are great. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work guys đ
