That “competitors” spade bit was either blunt or messed with. I wouldn’t be trusting that comparison or the company.
Mission Dan it was different drills aswell have a look at the chucks
Matt Kaplan i would also wager 1k that the battery is also not fully charged.
note the battery size. comparing a standard in box cheap battery on the "bad bit' to a high output 4.0ah with "gods bit"
My bet the competition bit drill was on high speed
Different hand positioning on the drill and looking like the guy using both hands pushing harder.
This video paid for by Crescent
Jon Zimmerman yup, and it looks like crap gear, the bags are better suited to camping, the adjustable spinner with a shorter handle is one of those things that finally came, but hardly revolutionary, but I’m interested in how nasty I can mangle a pipe holding onto it at an angle up to 30 degrees. But the jaws did move very well, but I’ll stick to my Rigids for the time being, they are also aluminium. And I drilled a hole in the handle and fit a glow in the dark thing, just because.
The Bomb Digity eh that figure is a bit off. It’s not based on views only. It’s based on engagement, daily views, number of uploads, etc.
I WONDER WHO IS SPONSORING THIS SHOW??? YOURS SINCERELY FROM THE OLD CORRUPT UK
I'm here like channel lock anyone. Lol 😂
@@f1reguy587 what brand bags do you recommend?
That first test was bull. The bigger dude had his hand on the back of the drill. @projectfarm would lose his mind if he seen a bullcrap test like that.
400lbs of belly.
The best spade bit on the market is the Bosch. That's some no name bit. Not the number 1 competitor
Exactly
Fr tho 😭 the guy was not even trying
The competition looked dull as hell too
The first one wasn’t compared to the leading competitor. There have been “auto feed” tip spade bits out for quite some time.
Yep and I don’t like the auto feed for 2 reasons, 1 it pulls the bit into the material which I don’t like, 2 the wedge screw can split the material.
I prefer the standard type and the DeWalt is my favourite even though I’m a Makita guy
moe riou I think the test was bs!
every sharp spade bit performs like theirs...
and there's no way a "leading competitors" bit would be that bad. It was definitely dull as hell. I've used discount no name bits before and even they will drill faster than that.
What a complete garbage and underhanded comparison with that spyder bit.
Yeah that "auto feed" was present on old hand auger bits. Those T-augers were present in the 15th century... that's the 1400's so 600 years old
"autofeed technology"...you mean shaped like a drill bit lol
Yeah lmao most spade bits have that
Lol and also new design wrench and its just a shorter one
Also I wonder how sharp that other bit actually was. My money says it's been used a lot.
I frigging HATE spade bits with drill ends!!
1. They'll suck your bit into the work piece and ruin it if your trying to hit a certain depth.
2. They suck the bit in too fast, the blade will bind and the torque from the drill will try to break your wrist.
3. If you try and use in a drill press. They will pull the work piece right up out of the vise and ruin it.
Never buy this BS
It has a screw on the end . Wow awesome technology 👏
That drill "demonstration" in the beginning of the video was awful for a tool expo lol.
Lets say its indicitive of a DOOOSHBAG to not point that out. In fact he included it like were stupid or something. After that its Bullshit
I love how every display is set up perfectly to suit their tool.
...your expectations were?
Did you expect a volcano science project for a wrench?
Enough said 🤣
Good one Will Johnson
I'm the guy that test's the zippers at Crescent...Everything I own is Velcro....
Zipper tester. Pays OK
@@jeromeduffy9270 It has it's ups and downs..
Hahahaha!
Lol!
15000 or 1500? that's insane!
Lol "we have genuine YKK zippers."
"What is a YKK zipper?"
"Oh they make basically all of the zippers in the world."
Not true just looked it up only around 30% there Japanese and generally higher quality.
YKK makes Yeti Cooler’s waterproof zippers that can handle an SUV driving and parking on top their soft coolers. They have a video demonstration of it. Yeti designed the zipper but it just makes sense for YKK to manufacture the zippers for Yeti. Can’t beat that quality when comparing one of Yeti’s soft coolers to a Walmart special or rtic rip off cooler.
@@zebmccollum YKK also made the trash tier zipper on my 5 dollar walmart jeans
just like TOOLS, YKK make huge variety of zippers. High and crap quality.
@@zebmccollum YKK Zippers are the best Zipper available, whether on a Suitcase, Trunk, ToolBag Tent Front Cover or whatever. I've always had YKK's on anything I've owned where a zipper was used for instant access,I have YET to see a YKK jamb or become unusable. I mean from Trtousers fronts, Special Overalls, Tool Bags, Fur Jackets or shirts, name it, add a YKK and you have a life time zipper NOTHING beat's em.
Most of these so-called "new tools" have been around for 90yrs.
I saw 3 of those new tools that I've been using for years
Yeah I clicked on this video to see new inventions, but I got a shill crescent video.
Most of the innovations seemed more for convenience more than revolutionary. I guess anytime you can make a job easier and quicker it's good for a contractor's bottom line.
bosch has a set with that same screw tip, use em every day got them 3 years ago at lowes.
I've got a headlight with that same motion detection system, by Robbens.
The adjustable wrench with short handle.... 😁 "it won't turn" just lift it off and turn it mate, you'll get it... 👍
Ever tried doing that under neath floor boards or narrow roof space, length = TORQUE Plus or minus aka Long or Short turning event. Think about it.
There are times you want one of those short handle/wide mouth wrenches, but notice how he ignore the torque problem of a shorter handle?
Its nothing new, had one in my pocket everyday more than a decade ago (when out of school and doing work). They are good for what they do, but they are never the right tool for something that is stuck
@@ssu7653 the new prybars to use on them, will be in the next video.
Love the first test, especially how you used a competitor that was still using the non-self drilling drill tip from the 60s, because that is a true comparison lol
Take an adjustable wrench, cut the handle off and call it new technology. Nah, I own a chopsaw and have old wrenches.
Take a 10" adjustable wrench, cut the handle down to 4", weld a square drive hole from a socket on the end. Had to make one like that to get into a tight space, now is my go-to. Small enough to get into tight spaces with an option to extend it with a ratchet if need be.
Bacho has made wide opening adjustable wrenches for years. They are expensive. The 8" opens to 1 1/8 down fall of this is the 8" doesn't have the leverage obviously. But they will stand up to being hit repeatedly with a 3lb hammer while being cussed at.
@@cdrbews That's funny, but I know exactly what you mean !!
"compared to the leading competitor" yea ok there
and make sure its as dull as possible
Dull bit, weaker drill, dead battery. Seems like a pretty fair comparison.
Big guy pushing strait little guy off angle seems legit
I don't know why they're always worried about speed when Precision is just as important
The leading competitor’s grandfather’s bit
That has to be the shittiest spade bit ever made.
yeah seeing demos like this makes me not want to buy that product
True, Bosch Daredevil is best on market IMO.
Spider? Isnt that just an unpainted Irwin Speedbor?
@@PersonMan1234 I cant find anything as good as Irwin, price and durability cant be beat.. gets dull trash it and few bucks for a new one..
daemonblade1229 I thought the same thing. I have three of those bits in my bag right now.
I met that zipper tester at the National Testers Convention.
He's the great-grandson of Mr Zippo, the inventor of the Zippo Lighter.
I am a retired rocking chair tester.
Testing zippers. It's not rocking science.
@@salveson Have you ever gotten caught in your fly zipper?
@@IggyDalrymple Some gave all.
Pretty good example of why you NEVER believe those live tool comparisons when performed by the reps.
Why? Just because one guy was using two hands and the other only one hand? Or because one drill had a fresh battery and the other was old and half dead? Or was it because the bigger guy was using way more force than the other guy? Never mind the fact that the leading competitor bit was as dull as a butter knife. Even my Husky spade bits can drill faster than that leading competitor bit.
“It’s a genuine YKK zipper”
“What’s a YKK zipper?”
“Basically the same zipper that everyone else int he world also has”
I can’t stand scam artist REPs. It’s pathetic how they purposely try to make the “leading competitor” bit fail.
ya we couldnt find the large section of bosch self feed spade "dare devil" bits at home depot... so we found the leading competitors shitty spade bit that was good technology 22 years ago to compare......
also note the battery size and high output.
theyre compairing their bit with the same drill but with a 4ah high output battery compared to the other "bad bit" with the standard in box small 1.5ah battery.
The guy on the left wasn't even pushing. Guy on the right had his hand in the back and on the trigger.
Give me that bit and if I put it on a Milwaukee hole hawg it'll rip right through the board.
I’ve never seen a paddle bit take that long or need that much force to go through 3/4 pine. Leading competitor... yeah...
Hey even a leading competitor's bit would take forever if you grind the edge off. Also apples to oranges comparison.
That spider bit looks like that self feed Bosch bit they should have put those together
Yeah, was gonna say Bosch has had similar self feed spade bits here in Europe for years...
yup, that bosch daredevil is aggressive though
Except then the Bosch might have kicked their ass, soooo... lol
@@komitadjie been using the Bosch daredevil for years. The spider is just a copy.
And the Bosch bit will rip your wrists up if you are not careful! I only use them in my drill press!
can people stop adding "technology" to literally everything? Like buddy its a screw in front of the spade bit. Its like making a new light bulb and saying it has new light technology.
Plus it's not new. Screw tip puller drill bits have been around since literally 1850s... aka ship auger bits, designed by Jennings. Laughable that it's some new "tech" though. They made a little cut relief in the screw tip and called it "new tech."
I started laughing so hard when he said patented tip technology!
Grand River Wood Co I swear first thing I thought
It's called a worm.
@@philpullan8595 That's what she said.
Bosch had same drill bits 5 years ago, I love them. Big things from crescent, love the bags, and finally useful innovation on pipe wrenches! Ya
That Crescent bag is REALLY well thought out, and I respect that. You know how many times I've cursed the light devouring tendencies of black interior bags?? Now I know what to buy.
Until you see a Veto Pro Pac bag, then you buy that
@@riverbuilder2251 pro pak has 5 year replacement warranty too .. still trying to kill mine so I get a new one 🤣🤣
@@riverbuilder2251veto is the king of tool bags. Only one so far I haven't burned thru in a year or less.
Hit a few nails with that paddle bit before the show? Atleast test it against a Bosch self feeder and not something that isn't comparable
"Patented screw tip", well that's BS for a start, those bits are older than Noah. Avoid tool bags with any kind of zip, one bit of sawdust and they'll jamb right up. That wrench you could use at an angle was interesting, but I've never needed to do that so I'm not sure I'd need one. Still, nice to see what's coming out. I reckon some kind of external mic would help you out a bit, thanks for these kind of videos.
I have a problem watching these videos. I'm a tool nut way past my peak years. Now I'm just retired, fixing things at home. But these videos make me want to get these tools. THAT I DON'T NEED. Damn u guys.
CRECENT should have more enthusiastic sales reps- some of them seemed barely awake. Crescent makes good stuff!!
Those drills were running at different speeds. That kinda crap would shy me away from that manufacturer. Its shady at least and kind of dishonest.
I broke the new crecent trying to cut the bolts of my storage container. Had to use a grinder🤷🏼♂️
Work shop on the go 🤤🤤🤤
Dude, the Kratos art in your office is amazing.
- Hmm that Festool kit is nice, how much is it?
- Festool rep: 7499$ (for a limited time)
I agree, Festool is overpriced for mostly plastic tools.
Garabage
Just checked the product description. For over $700 you would expect something a bit higher quality than MDF for the entire top of the table...
@@hardoncrimefromRS milwaukee has a comparable setup for like, half the price
"some guy tests these zippers 15,000 cycles" 🤦
I think you mean a robot
nah, zipper tester guy is cheaper.
That was the biggest pile of bs ever fed with such a straight face
kodiak wild especially in a Chinese factory.
I wonder if you need to know someone to get that job....haha!😇😎
Honestly that headlamp was my favorite.
I would buy these and hand them out just to watch the guys screwing with each other all day! Still a nice feature for glove wearers
The criminal world will sure appreciate those new bolt cutters.
Notice how the "Loser" drill was shaking, because there was no pressure being applied
Every sleeve is stationary, and you can hold onto it while driving a fastener/screw etc. How is that new?
I was thinking about the one I have from Harbor Freight that is just like it.
Yep, non-marring bit holders of many kinds have been out, also sleeves
The problem, at least for me, with the sleeves is they come off pretty easily and if they shift after you put it back in your bag as you move to a new task on sight the sleeve gets tweaked and now it's useless
@@Mr.Neko013 I'm not following you. I don't understand what it is you are trying to describe. Sleeves stay on the end of the drill/driver.
@@jmackinjersey1 I'm referring to the sliding sleeves on a bit holder meant to help the user keep the screw on the tip by sliding it down over the bit and the screw. It provides no resistance so it's fine on most surfaces
CHEERS!!!!! thank you for going since I was unable to, loved that you checking on latest tools thank you again!!
I used to go to the tool shows here in Chicago but they haven't had one in years. I truly enjoyed seeing what is out there. Thanks for taking us with it was awesome 👌
Love seeing the tools that are available. We don't get the new tools up here until they are out a few years. Loved the series!
Great to hear you like the series, thank you for watching !
Hes got the drill in reverse then slaps in fordward lmao
Tools to make you more American..
Americans Want it Now!
They want the best and now!!
We want expensive tools that take all the work out of actually working!!! Nice work
Spider bit was the only paddle I ever broke in half. Have to admit nice clean break,
Someone walks by and your headlamp shuts off automatically.
Dude showed it was only like an inch away...
Samsung phones have had this tech for years and years and it never accidentally turns off or on. You have to be very close.
Actually a handy feature. I'm often wearing rubber gloves with nastiness on them and hate to touch my headlamp switch.
Omg too funny ! I can see guys screwing with each other ALL day with this. Still a good idea if you have gloves on. Nice innovation imo.
Spider bit.... the faster guy is standing n pressing directly forward, the slower guy is to the side ( horrible angle). If your gonna do comparisons, be fair about it. GEEZ!!!!
Michael Prentice I thought the same
The slower "comp bit" was also badly damaged and dull. Prob a cheapo Chinese bit
Klein tools warranties their bags for LIFE, no questions asked.
I'm a contractor and my sponsor for this commercial is Crescent.
Those pipe wrenches are no comparison to a ridged pipe wrench. #notsponsored
Or Reed pipe tools
Why does that guy have his collar popped 🤣🤣🤣
Straight up, I'm subscribing because of Goku and Kratos
Glad to have you here, thank you !
I saw the scroll, I was like hell yes!
Before corona virus, when the world was a better place to enjoy it without a mask.
The screw head on the spade bit has been around for many years. It’s nothing new,
I wish some of these “tools” literally and figuratively would be called out.
I like that crescent bag.
Do you have any recommendations for a new makita impact driver?
Against the leading competitor, didn’t know harbor freight was considered a leader in anything other than crap.
Ya I know right lol
Harbor freight had its place in the world. I think if we're being honest with ourselves, all of us have gone in for something in a pinch to complete a job.
@@tsnorquist I agree. Some of their stuff is a good value.
Harbor Freight is getting alot better but still sells some throw away stuff... I like quality, but love the junk in a pinch.
Harbor Freight is trash but their spade bits are better than whatever that "competitor's" bit is!
Lmao 😂😂 Good one Senco. Let’s make 3 different drills for 3 different applications....Who wants one drill with a speed switch anyways? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
If you ONLY work with ONE material (like many piecework jobbers do) the last thing you need is some .25 switch jamming up your day. I thought same thing until I met guy with crew that JUST does inside steel stud frame out jobs - malls, stores, etc. He actually had couple of failed multipurpose guns in his trailer just waiting for some downtime to “maybe” repair them.
The salesman for lancing forge had to be the worst salesmen ever
How the hell was he able to get to selling in a trade show 😳
Awesome tools my Brother I love it good job and very nice video to Yeaaaaaa Boyyyyyyyyy lol later :)
Thank you !!
Make sure to stop at your bank first for a loan before buying your new Festool stuff. But absolute great stuff .
Yeah, that plastic thingy is probably like $900,000.00
I was going to say the same thing. I looked up the mobile workstation and to buy it as shown it's almost 1000 bucks. I was thinking maybe 300, lol.
I DO NOT NEED SPEED AT MY JOB
I NEED QUALITY
A quality workman can do both
The headlight is awsome.
That Spyder drill bit is legit
“All new it has a genuine YKK zipper.”
“What’s a YKK zipper?”
“Look on any zipper it’s probably YKK.”
Thanks Booger McFarland.
These guys are idiots. There’s not someone sitting there zipping 15,000 times for their job. That’s what machines are for. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
I feel you this video is so frustrating
I think the zipper tester is the same guy that sharpens those short pencils for filling out lotto tickets
You have nay idea how fucked your elbows and wrist would be from 30 years of zipper testing?
I'm such a sucker for these "new tools and machine" shows! Keep em' coming!
Stay tuned Derrik, thank you !
This you reply to. Intetesting
I love the slickness of the presenters. Professionals who know their product gabbing about their trade, it's just so refreshing.
Good advertising for Crescent
Sure seemed alot like a plug for crescent tools? 🤔
Spider bits look just like bosch daredevils. How did it get patented it if it already existed
yea i brought a bosch spade bit over three years ago, that had the same design.
Damn, crescent is still kicking ass
I have the cresent adjustable spanner with the through socket wrench, and it has saved me needed multiple tools at hand when servicing ride on mowers
Ykk is a pretty well known zipper manufacturer, carhartt uses them and if I remember correctly the g-suits pilots wear use them
The drill with collars to protect surfaces. We've been using them on impact sockets for years
That’s impossible. You didn’t know there was a such thing until you saw this video. You couldn’t have. You don’t need to lie to try to be cool. It’s a whole lot better to just be honest and lame. Trust me. You might not have anymore one night stands that way, but you’ll be a whole lot better off in the long run, because you can get all up inside some hot, sexy babe’s sweet, super-tight friend zone, once she gets to know you, and that friendship could last you a lifetime.
She’ll eventually start to think of you as if you’re her brother and she’s your sister, and I don’t mean like one of those weird, overly-aggressive step-sisters on Pornhub, either. I mean like a real sister. You never know, but she might even have some hot, slutty friends, who like to have sleepovers at her house. Chances are, you could possibly penetrate their friend zones, too, eventually, if you were just as honest with them, and didn’t screw things up by banging them all at the same time, several times every week, for the next 5 to 10 years.
Those sorts of relationships never last forever, and it would be a real shame to have potential lifelong friendships get destroyed in that way, just for a bunch of pointless, incredible, multi-partnered sexual activities, that would only take place a few fantastic times each week, and would last no more than one amazing decade or so, anyway. That would be such a terrible waste. I’d seriously hate to see anyone do that to themselves, and then have to live the rest of their life with that much regret. I couldn’t live with myself if I did such a thing.
The pain of knowing that I missed out on having lifelong friendships with some super hot, slutty, bisexual babes, just to bang those same babes in every way imaginable, over and over again, and live an absolute dream life for several years, making unbelievable memories that would last for the rest of my life, would be unbearable, I’m sure. That’s why I’d never lie for any reason, even to score with a beautiful slut, and it’s also why I’m so lame. Being super cool and incredibly happy just isn’t worth it. Being honest and never getting laid is, without a doubt, as good as it gets. Being stuck in the friend zone with blue balls is truly all I’ve ever wanted, and I could not ask for more. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America 🇺🇸 Amen 🙏🏿
Word of advice for people breaking out and gonna buy some pipe wrenches. It is worth it to buy Rigid pipe wrenches. Their hook and heels are so much sharper and last so much longer than ANY other pipe wrench manufacturer out there. You can pick up a 50 year old Rigid at a yard sale, pawn shop, or on eBay for a fraction of the price of a new one and replace the hook and heel if they need it. Sure they are expensive, but I promise you, you will not want to throw the wrench across the job site if you just use Rigid. They are wrenches you can pass on down to your grand kids grand kids. Some wrenches are made to where you have to buy a whole new one if the hook or heel are worn out.
I'm happy with my Home Depot tools
LOOKS LIKE SPIDER IS GOING TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS DUE TO THESE TWO SALES MEN.
Here is the "Catch" on the Cresent bags, straight from their website:
(a) any Product which has been modified, disassembled and/or reassembled or altered in any way or
improperly installed; (b) any Product which has, in Apex’s judgment,
been subject to negligence, misuse, abuse, accident, improper storage or
damage during shipment; (c) any Product which has not been operated and
maintained in accordance with normal practice and in conformity with
recommendations and published specifications of Apex; and (d) any
Products which have been serviced or repaired by anyone other than an
Authorized Repair Center of Apex or modified by anyone other than
Apex. Normal wear and tear is also excluded.
the B is where they get ya
Anything apex tool is a joke, destroyers of once good tool brands
Clause (c) is also a gotcha. Pretty much guaranteed that "normal practice" doesn't conform with "recommendations and published specifications of Apex".
30 degree pipe wrench is a game changer
I liked the Cresent bit cover. I always hated trying to put on door knobs trying not to mark them up.
Carhart uses ykk zippers. Only zipper I own that has ykk. And that guy has a robot doing the 1500 zipper cycles
A QC machine does the cycling of the zipper. I would know. We built similar test machines. Lol
Michael McDermott You sir, are wrong... Buddy the elf does it at the North pole, in the quality control room.
The Crescent wide jaw adjustables rock :)
That tamper with the swivel head is awesome. using a tamper sucks, but thats a good one for the old wrists
yeah the other guy was barely pushing the standard style bit
Had to check the date on this video, none of this is new I have half these tools in my truck...
Crescent seems to be turning into a copycat company, most of those products have been available from Ridgid, Mastercraft, Sunnex, Jet and others for years now.
Add a little mud, metal filings or sawdust to those zippers and see how long they last...
That pipe wrench thing looks like it is just a chain wrench without the chain.
I just noticed the DBZ in the back ground and the Kratos poster too. Love this guy!!!
oh god its gets even better, you can get as much torque out of an 8" bar as the 10" bar?
Yes if they include a pipe to slide over the handle. That guy was clueless and has no idea what torque even means.
It can take as much torque. It's basically a shorter wrench of the next size up. 10in jaw 8in handle ext.
I was searching for this comment the moment I heard it. It can withstand the same amount of torque, but you cannot apply the same amount without additional leverage
I Think We Need a Few More Comments on The Spade Bit Comparison at The Start, a 1,000 Comments On It Just Isn't Quite Enough ! ... : )
I have that Self adjusting pipe wrench. It’s amazing
Crescent has made some nice new tools
Hey look at our new tool.
Available many months from now. Thats a total fail.
Love the Crescent available now
I really like your content, but you always manage to make what should be a 5 minute video last 30 minutes.
I'm not sure how to watch these without just scrubbing through 70% of it.
Same, I tend to skip a lot, kinda watch in chunks. Like, cool, it's a wrench from the factory that someone chopped the handle off of. Ok, next tool. lol
I skip the bits that are not interesting to me but you MUST remember, you might be onterested in one demo that someone else isnt interested in, and vice versa. This channel has to try and cater for everyone not just chippys
That headlight is sick need that for fishing
That crescent bag is pretty nice
Took me 28 seconds to make me never want to buy your product
Spyder bit went against the "leading competitor" that thing looked so dull and worn out! With a dude applying 0 force! So stupid.
I like the auto adjusting pipe wrench and the compound bolt cutters.
Awesome vlog. Great tools and gear
Thanks Brendon, glad you liked it !
