I am 73 now, but when I was in my late teens I remember a friend taking me to one of the healing revivals. I was born with birth defects and one leg is shorter than the other and deformed amongst other things. I walk with braces and crutches and they ey had me come to the front and let everybody pray for me. The minister put his hand on my forehead and pushed until I fell backwards. After praying when they told me to take off my brace and walk, I couldn't. I remember the shame I felt when they told me I just didn't believe enough to accept the healing. It bothered me for many years.

Healing, like salvation, is a gift of God. It's tremendously abusive to accuse someone of not "believing enough" when they don't receive what they are hoping for. I see this in New Age circles as well, and it is incredibly destructive. I hope you have found the real gospel and have regained the dignity that is your birth right as a child redeemed by Christ. His righteousness is yours and thus, you are "good enough."

I've been to these types of churches. What a joke. And they claim to be prophets. One prophesied that my jewelry business would thrive and I would be on QVC..(I was in a multi level marketing "business" and not an independent business owner to begin with). Well, I quit the scam company and did not go back. He would profess to young kids in the congregation that they would be millionaires by the time they turn 30. I'm willing to bet the meager amount in my bank account that those very same people are still attending that church and praying for the miracle that the "prophet " revealed to come upon them.
He also talked this poor older woman to give up the very little amount of money she had in her possession as well. I thought, how despicable! It seemed as though he thought it was a biblical move, as it was the same as the Bible where the poor woman gave her last dime of her OWN will. This act of thievery is NOT the same and that pastor knew that. I'm so glad I left that church...

But I do sometimes go to a Bible study, do street ministry with other believers (dad is a street preacher), and am reading the Bible in a year. My husband reads the Bible and teaches our children before bed every night. I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe when we move, we'll find a church that's a good fit. Second is the controlling of these people to put personal, social, and group agendas (politics)in place. This protects the religious and political ruling class financial interests.

We were at church when a visiting pastor said the Holy Spirit told him someone in the congregation needed healing for their neck and he singled out my wife. She went up front a both the pastor and church elders prayed over her. Her neck was X-rayed later and found to be healed. Gods truly does heal but only when HE chooses and only through those who are truly subservient to His will and, even then He will do it without any middle-man.
I'm seeing an awful lot of videos around now that condemn people like Copeland and Duplantis and others and while they are compelling I remain cautious and just stay tapped in to God. I can't speak to Kenneth Copeland. However, anyone who thinks that the preacher is the one healing somebody has spent no time reading the Bible. The Bible shares that it is your faith that makes you whole. Your faith in what the scriptures declare. And there are examples of people receiving healing that continues to manifest as they remain in faith. So someone not springing out of their wheelchair doesn't mean that they cannot continue to exercise faith and rely on the healing that Jesus provided at the cross.

It was disturbing to experience an acute personality change first-hand, though. Ironically, my background as a baptised and confirmed Christian made her feel inadequate - which she wasn't - and that is, I think, why she went to this extreme. She married a guy of this persuasion. That didn't upset me in itself, but her stories of having "evil" expelled from her and her "falling on the floor" got me down. I get on well with both of them now, but their evangelical stance is so at odds with (what I see as) my gentle faith that we do not discuss matters of spirituality OR religion (different things, imo).

Hmmm,if he can do miraculous healings, why isn't he in the children's leukemia wards across the U.S? 🤔 Surely with that kind of power he can heal them all. Or does he just heal paid actors? What happened to Covid 19? He rebuked it but it's still here killing people. What about the guy in the wheelchair in this vid? Was that a healing,or was it fraud being exposed?

@maygog I pray that Jesus will open your eyes . Pray harder . It's so easy for us to get deviated from the truth . Please don't mind me as I say this things to you but you must know how to differentiate between pride and humility .
Please don't forget why Jesus sat on a donkey .( Don't get blinded in the name of conveniences ) . There is no God in Pride. And being financially blessed is not always a sign that God favors . Have a deep though please .

One positive thing about all this is that he didn't get "fake healed people in wheel chairs" to stand up on the stage and testify to their healings. It just makes me cringe at all the disappointed people who were believing that they were to be healed and it didn't happen. Of course, it is their own fault because they didn't "receive" their healings. It is always the victim's fault.

Jesus is the healer and not Rev. Copeland. Healings are sometimes instantaneous and at other times gradual when only the sick person will know and realize that they have received their healing. Rev. Copeland is just an instrument just like we christians who believe, can do the same thing wherever we are.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Dorothy, may you know him who died for you, today in Jesus name. God bless you. Ps. 32. Blessed is the man/woman whose sins are forgiven. Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart, won't you let him come in Rev. 3:20. May the Lord Jesus heal unbelieving hearts in Jesus name. Thank you Jesus.

Kenneth Copeland obviously doesn’t believe, if he did or does he would surely know that he has to stand before the Lord, and explain why he took money etc from desperate, sick, disturbed people who are looking to be healed, instead of believing in their own faith to be healed

  • @PhilRobinson-PeakbaggingNMsHig

As a very thankful born again believer in Jesus Christ, I want to apologize for this man. That is not of my Lord!
The apostle Paul had this departing warning, (Acts 20:29-30)
"I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following."
I know another person greatly harmed by a fake Christian, my precious Lord Jesus by Judas Iscariot. There is nothing new, one 12th of Christianity was corrupt from the beginning, but the good news is 11/12th were not, and they all went to their deaths for a world that did not understand how beautiful they were.
