This is a video to show how much Daryl has changed since season 1. It was hard to fit 4 seasons of development into 4 minutes so I know I missed some stuff. I hope you like it!

It's amazing to see that Daryl and Rick hated eachother at the beginning and now they are like brother who help and protect the other one.
I must say without Merle by his side he matured and got a better attitude

Rick hasn't really changed that much. He might have become a little bit more of a badass but other than that he really hasn't changed that much.
Yeah but he used to be a cop so he had to do that kind of stuff before. In season 2 he killed the two guys in the bar with no hesitation. He hasn't exactly experienced the most character development out of everyone in the group.
I miss earlier Daryl, he had the funniest one liners.
Beth's death, Merle's death changed him alot. Hes not the same anymore

One of my favorite characters! He’s a badass character and one of the strongest. It’s crazy how much he’s transformed from a arrogant person that doesn’t care about anyone to a caring person who also a badass. I just started season 10 and he’s still the same badass.

S1 to s5 of twd were peak tv, but later there could be only so much you could stretch a post-apocalyptic
story without being repetitive.
Edit:- it was really stupid to k*ll-off Sophia's character so early on into the show just to set-up Maggie's role.

Daryl use to be one of those character I didn't care much about. In the very beginning of season one, he just seemed selfish and reckless. But then by season two, he began to show that he was starting to really care about the group. Before we knew it, he was defending the group with all he had and putting his life on the line for others. I hate that they don't really give him many lines anymore, but he doesn't really need lines to just be Daryl.

Seriously, in season 3 where michonne was covered in walker blood and the whole group saw her standing beside dozens of walkers and wasn't bitten or saw they haven't figured out that they can use walker blood to escape a bunch of walkers!!
