my favourite things in swarm has been the fact that even i noticed theyve used things like, (in addition to tibbers) pix, belveths maggoty babies, jungle creeps, etc, as the bases. and it works so bloody well
There are so many extra creatures and summons from certain champ (or just the champ themselves) to make the enemy fodder I wonder which is whixh
the big realization for me was realising that their cheat menu is literally just ImGUI, a super common open source cpp opengl debug utility that a lot of independent developers use

Seeing all of this developpment is really heartwarming...
It's kind of weird but seeing a passion project becoming an anctual mod in league is making me emotional
it's great but i wish companies like riot compensated passionate developers instead of claiming what they do on their free time. It feels draconian when the biggest source of revenue comes from the unpaid labor of their workers. TFT, Arena, Swarm, it feels like any cool thing monolithic gaming companies do is originated by the exploitation of the most passionate developers. Riot isn't alone in this either.
@@kitsun9375Sadly this is common case, as is underpaying devs, especially in major game companies.
@@kitsun9375 TFT and Arena were planned by Riot, not just side projects by devs. Only Swarm started as a passion project. These need support, but you're making it seem like Riot did nothing for Swarm and just took credit. TFT's revenue is nowhere near Valorant's or League's. Swarm and Arena's revenue isn't even public, so claiming they generate much is pure misinformation.

9:30 nobody going to mention that necrit forgot about one of the most annoying enemies in swarm being the totally not suicidal bombs that deal way too much damage?
The frogs that leaves damaging AOE are worse imo

i really hope that zed mechanic comes in some time its super cool! I think swarm has the potential to stay around like TFT and just get reskinned / stat reset with new bosses and playable characters / builds. Changing that up every few months would do well and I honestly think people would pay to play old characters in whichever the current swarm was just as the purchasable fund sink that riot requires everything to have.
Remember when Necrit was puffing a lot of copium during the Star Guardian Event? 😂 It all paid off buddy, it all paid off. 😂

This is the most fun and refreshing event I've experienced since Ascension and Dark Star game modes. Actually, I hope to have Swarm return at Harrowing, Christmas, Lunar Revel or even April Fools events. Literally any theme can fit with the right champs and items. Bilgewater, Piltover, Freljord, Shadow Isles, you name it.
I am literally heartbroken that swarm is gone now. That small game mode had a mighty impact!
They could do an entire nocturne game mode based on that shadow mechanic.

I hope Riot has their reasons for introducing this mode more often or permanently.
What's most important to me is that it's finally a game mode that's not PvP. I love League's universe but its "competitive" community, not so much.
Crazy that passions projects are some of the most successful games/gamemodes. Riot will 100% learn something from this!!

The champions for Swarm being hidden makes more sense now, considering that when I got Xayah, one of my Marksman challenges leveled up, for having obtained enough Marksman champions
Me playing swarm:

Tank Kata, full on tanks dealing more dmg and somehow dying more than a full dmg adc, broken hit boxes and low risk high reward chars.

You can actualy pick all the champions even now but its not worth it cause they wont work as we wish.
I beat the extreme mode with every character solo. I hope they continue to develop this mode instead of making it temporary.

Too bad swarm is not playable if you have 200 lat since the game itself just does this weird spaz slow movement. Asked riot about it and they palmed it off with we know but don't care :(

Calling this the best game mode is honestly insulting to every other mode. Odyssey had a lot more soul put into it and didnt felt even half as cranky
They noticed that Vampire Survivor was pupular... and that ripoffs were popular... and they made their own ripoff. Thats how they made it.
