If you want an impartial opinion from someone who used to use pre-JYM but stopped due to financial reasons and knows a bit of what's going on, you should read here.
When I first got into fitness I read all of Jims stuff. I used his products when they were first released and followed his programs. I then however got into powerlifting and began studying nutrition in college, and as a college student couldn't afford his line anymore. I began making my own pre-workout and I asked him if what I had was okay for what I could afford. I said I tried including all of the critical ingredients. He told me I was still missing a lot of the essential ingredients, which I knew was horseshit. There are quite a few ingredients in pre-JYM that aren't essential and he knows that. That's when I realized he turned into a business man, and his main concern was pushing his product and not about helping the people like it used to be. But now on to the lawsuit.
I remember watching a Layne Norton vlog where he said he was never going to make supplements due to the hassle, but bodybuilding.com offered to manufacture and distribute so he could formulate, be the endorser, and take the cut and not have to deal with the business side. I'm ASSUMING Jim had a similar deal. However, when the line blew up Jim wanted full ownership, there were some misunderstandings in the agreement, and there was a falling out.
However, if Jim truly and legally owned the company then he wouldn't have had to change it to 2.0 and he wouldn't have had to change flavors, which is a bit shady and confusing to me. Kaged muscle doesn't distribute solely through BB.com, due to Kris owning the company, and thus if he had a falling out with BB.com his products wouldn't change at all.
At this point I don't think that either side is right or wrong, I don't think Jim realized he was selling his soul when he partnered up with BB.com, unlike Layne who knew what he was getting himself into. The takeaway from this is that the products from BB.com and the new ones are pretty much the same. They're good products, but not necessary for results and are only worth it if you have the money to spend. I squatted 500 pounds as a 19 year old taking nothing but creatine and citrulline malate and drinking egg white shakes post workout.

Hi Doc, I support you through and through. Question for you: I literally bought pre and post jym last week in bb. The label is the same as it's been since launch, and it has your picture in the back on both. Does this mean it's TRUE ingredients? PS. I have not opened it yet...

Hi Jim, just wondering if this explains the review a guy did on your supplements 'calling you out' about your supplements due to low'ish percentage of protein for your protein blend product. Is the 2.0 now effectively a difinitive stake in the ground for customers to now understand that all ties are cut from BB.com? have the protein percentages now gone up to answer your critic/s? I really want to convert to JYM but protein content needs to be sufficient per serving. Thanks
24g of complete protein per serving, thats all you should care about, dont trust in anything you hear in the internet from the "competidors".
You have to divide the amount of protein into serving size to get to know how much protein your actually getting

I just talked to a GNC rep up here and he told me that it could be anywhere from six month to six years because of Health Canada regulations.
Canadian Food safety are the British Food Standard. I know a company director overseeing the building of a food plant in Canada and he told me everything is strictly British Food Standards.
And Jim's products are sold through uk.bodybuilding.com and therefore passed as ok in the UK..
I am guessing those sold via GNC will have to be reassessed. Those through Bodybuilding.com in the states will have no trouble in Canada since they're already passed in the UK.

My point is that Jim wasn't just doing supplements. He was also writing programs for them and connecting his supplement line to them as they are the reccomended supplements to use for the programs he has written. On top of that, I distinctly remember him writing artcles for the site as well and having a fitness 360 profile on his life. It just seems kind of strange to act like people haven't found Jim through his programs or articles on bb.com and that he only used them as a retailer

Good luck with legal battle. I am very saddened that Bodybuilding.com would resort to those measures but they have and I really appreciate all your videos. I like to learn about the best techniques in lifting as well as nutrition. I am a loyal customer and I have a feeling that the vast majority of people who know anything about the brand you have made will feel the same way.

I like GNC now, they got rid of gold cards and no longer pressure their employees to sell their brand. Their prices are actually pretty competitive with bodybuilding now
Kenneth Bowen I don't know about that. The ones by me are always pressuring me to by products. Especially Cellucor. They must have a huge deal with them. The prices are super high too. You always have to spend more than $75 to get a deal on anything. Vitamin Shoppe is way better. I wish the Doc would have made a deal through them instead.
When's the last time you went? They just changed it two weeks ago. Optimum nutrition is 57.99 just like bodybuilding, C4 is now 29.99 just like bodybuilding and Pre JYM is 37.99 just like bodybuilding. I used to work for them, I remember how it used to be and even working there I still bought from bodybuilding but recently, they've really stepped their game up

Read the active ingredients on the label - they are identical. Only difference (other than flavors) is buying from GNC financially benefits Jim; buying from bb.com doesn't. bb.com has been manufacturing Jym products for 3 years, no reason to believe anything will change unless you're seriously paranoid.

Interesting how JYM claims to formulate his own product but it is very similar to bodybuilding platinum series.. Pre workout and protein..
+Alex M yes I meant primarily the pre workout. Both proteins are blends, and pro Jym is also a prop blend.. If you read the ingredient list you would figure that out.
+Alex M wrong again the ingredient literally list " protein blend" on the label with no signifying of how much is which.. Technically a prop blend. Scream came out in 2012, while pre Jym came out September of 2013, which is why Jim himself said his contract had expired with BB (3 years or whatever he said).

I have done my fair share of researching this and the evidence just seems to pose against both BB and Jim, I just advise you to do some research also on Google to see what you discover. (Marc Lobliner has some interesting tweets of Jim a few days ago.)
The only differences are flavors. To me it's proof he never made any of them. If he did then the product on GNC would be packaged and taste the same as what has been on BB, and it'd be BB having to go and reformulate new flavors with new packaging and not, in Stoppani's own words, "continue to manufacture and distribute" the Jym products. Pretty sure if Gethin had a BB falling out KM would still be on his site, amazon, etc. Super sketched by this about something I consume the way he did this.
I contacted BB.COM because they claim on their site Pro Jym is exclusive to their website. I pointed out the product on another website (not GNC) and BB.COM said they "cannot vouch for the authenticity or quality of products sold by GNC".
