Great point. Growing up, "tomboys" were treated like one of the guys. And I remember clearly who they got hate from and it wasn't the guys. There is reason why guys get excited when their girlfriend/wife show interest in any of their hobbies. We've never excluded anyone because of their gender. As long as there was common ground, we were more than welcoming in my friend group. One of my fondest memories is playing the whole WoW expansion, Mist of Pandaria, with my girlfriend and her mother. Most fun I've had in a game ever.

When I was a kid I was taught in school to always consider the viewpoint of the author or journalist before deciding if I was going to accept anything as fact, and that not all information is necessarily true. These days it's basically a hobby of people to compare news coverage from different sources and then trying to spot what "the Message" for that particular day is going to be. It's kind of hilarious.
I walk with my father every morning. He's an older gent in his 70s, and he can't relate to me about video games, it's just not his cup of tea. Around five years ago, I was trying to explain to him about how activists were starting to take over my favorite games, comics, tv shows, etc... And I still remember what I said to him "You know me dad, I'm not right wing, I'm not left... I play my video games... I keep to myself... I don't bother people... Being a GenX kid in the 80s and even more so in 90s, gaming was very diverse and even one of the founders of one of the biggest computer game publishers in the 80s was a woman by the name of Roberta Williams who recently did an independent remake of the very first game created Collosal Cave Adventure. As for marginalized people not having the resources available to afford video games in the 80s and 90s. I definitely can say that's a load of BS or did I just imagine friends of mine who grew up in East Los Angeles or South Central in the 80s and 90s that had an NES, Genesis, or Super Nintendo. Also let us not forget that gamers in the 80s and 90s spent a lot of time still in arcades, bowling alleys and many other places that had videogames in them and these places were some of the most openly diverse places you'd ever find. Now I do agree there were some people in the 80s who couldn't afford a computer or video game console. They were a family of ranchers with the parents living in a camper and the kids living in a shack on the property. Guess what, they were also white and not from the marginalized demographic being pushed out. Every time my family was near Baker or Whiskey Pete's on the way to Vegas we'd stop at their ranch and I'd play with the younger kids. It's also where I first shot a BB gun at 4 or 5 years old.

I wouldn't buy an army of Iron Man suits if I had five trillion dollars. I'd set up my own video game publisher. No not just developer studio, an actual publisher. Which I would run out of pocket.
I'd set up one in-house development studio for the best game idea pitch out of the initial sign-ups and then basically run it in the exact opposite manner of those that exist right now, in other words I'd not only open myself up to every hit piece possible from the current generation of rags, I'd outright mock them, daring them to use their "power" against me.
And then I wouldn't even need to spend a tenth as much on advertisement because they would handle that for me, until they caught on to the scheme anyway.
The fun part is, they are all such hateful lumps of bitter salt that they wouldn't be able to stop themself from being my ad campaign the next time either, or the time after that, because they have to maintain that they are still relevant, that they have the power to ruin companies, and so on.
Of course, getting paid after every major payment processor in the world turns against me would be a challenge, but hey, most of those companies didn't have a budget of five trillion dollars when they started out, and unlike them I would have zero issues with providing payment processor services for anyone that wasn't doing anything expressly illegal...

Well, the Venom symbiote (presumably also other symbiotes but I don't think that's been confirmed) does amp up risk taking behavior and violent emotions in its host because it feeds off the brain chemicals and adrenaline that is released. That's basically half of the reason why Peter Parker tried to get rid of it.
So that's a very good metaphor, the people who are stuck in this victim mentality feel horrible when they think about everything that's wrong with the world and how other people are treating them, and the only time they feel good is when they have a reason to get angry at other people (because the anger overwrites their self loathing, pity and despair) and when they manage to hurt the people that they see as the cause of their own misery (whether correctly or not.)
Self-delusion is a great part of this because when you feel down in the dumps it's very easy to make up little stories in your mind about how everyone else hates you through no fault of your own and so on, and this pushes people going through the same thing together into little diamond-hard nodules of hate for those that they consider to "hate them".
I agree with the sentiment that Disney won't learn the obvious lesson from Deadpool3. But it's important to understand nothing happens in a vacuum. That's why we must hold the line. Deadpool will show investors that superhero "fatigue" is a crap excuse. I'll be very interested to hear the shareholder meeting for Disney after Agatha and Capt America fail.

But in reality these companies rarely learn their lesson, or at least the right lesson. And Disney is ESPECIALLY resistant to learning. Most good movies that come out from them are either accidents or outside their control. And even when they do well they double down on the wrong, and often times, bad stuff.
It is a really tough choice for the consumer/customer. Do we pay to enjoy the good stuff cus we so desperately want a good stuff in a sea of crap and mediocrity. Do we do so knowing that Disney will likely not learn anything from it and take the money and double down on their ideology? Or do we deny ourselves in order to attempt to continue punishing them?
