An employee at Home Depot told me that the main reason why seasonal items sell out so quickly isn’t really due to people decorating earlier or decorating more than usual...it’s been the same as always, but the stock is severely low primarily because when everything was shut down this summer, it included seasonal manufacturers because it wasn’t considered essential. Those months of lockdown had a major impact on the amount of seasonal items being manufactured, so less stock meant things sold out far quicker than other years even though the rate of purchase remained the same. I don’t know how accurate that is, but it makes sense. Just wanted to add this little tidbit as to why we may be seeing seasonal item selling out at a seemingly faster rate 🤷🏽♂️
Covid strikes again! :-(
J Ramirez, makes sense!!!
I can see that. I did, however, hear a Target employee tell a customer who was complaining about the state of the Christmas section say that the moment they opened boxes, customers took the items. The same at my local Michael's. The employee said they could not keep up with the demand for paint. (What I wanted).
My community is heavily shopped by an urban community in a nearby state.
My daughter and I were able to find what we wanted about an hour or so farther away.
@@missyb.623 Truth. I work at Michaels and we couldn't get the stuff out fast enough. Trees went faster this year than previous years. Hardly anything left for clearance. We condensed 8 aisles of Christmas stuff into 1 the day after. Already filling up with Spring items.
I work at dollar tree, and I agree that we didn’t get nearly the amount of merchandise as previous years. That, and the public demand so early into the season because people were mailing their gifts due to the inability to congregate this year, items were flying off the shelves. Also, as far as crafting, it is far cheaper to make a handmade gift and there are people, myself included, that are facing financial difficulties.
can take the little glass salt and pepper shakers with the handles from Dollar Tree and make little root beer floats.
Totally agree the stores barely had anything left after Christmas- I’d never seen it this way the day after.
You’re creativity, enthusiasm and “let’s do this” attitude is so infectious and a joy to see!

Love watching your diy’s, on the fake ice cream that was to runny add a little bit of flour to thicken it up, it works as I make fake foods
That was AMAZING! I am leaving my tree up for valentine's and making this stuff to use as ornaments on it! My 1 yr. old granddaughter is going to LOVE IT!
czcams.com/video/bsbcYAicWGo/video.html
You're very good at what you do Bethany! You're very talented and artistic! God bless you and your family very much 🥰💕🙏🏽
The tray and all the clear bottles of fake candy, my fave! Everything was darling.
Bethany, you are so delightful...and your creative juices are over the top!
I can’t wait to get over to dollar tree and start making these cuties! Thanks for another great project!
Best to you & your family in 2021!
Awwww you’re making me cry 😢! Happy new year to you and to everyone that follows you as well . Love you and I’m super happy to be part of your CZcams bargain family 💕.
Yessss I love watching Bethany and Valentine's DIY's are one of my absolute favorite. My hubby proposed to me on Valentine's so Valentine's is super special to us. I'm definitely going to create a few of these. You're so creative Bethany.
You always blow me away with your creativity and talent. 💕
Brilliant Bethany!
I never thought of using children’s artificial food for decor purposes! You’ve opened my eyes to a lot of great uses for it!’As you mentioned many of today’s diy’s can be used on tiered trays! I’m always looking for new tiered tray diy decor!
I just 💗❤️💗 all your creative ideas on this video!!! Thank you Bethany!
I love her diys the best on CZcams
I literally almost spent $100 on etsy to get this look.. I'm soo glad I am subscribed to you.. Great Job!! I am in love
The ice cream cones reminded me of the dozens of ice cream cupcakes I used to make for occasions at our sons elementary school. The kids are 21 and 22 yrs old now, and they still talk about those cupcakes! 🧁🍦
Yay! It's Bethany ❣❣❣ I'm so excited about these tips and ideas! I've been wanting to make fake cakes and sweets for a tea party type tablescape for awhile. Seeing your methods is so helpful. Im thinking that if you use a clear gloss spray on all the sprinkles and candies then the color might not run. You know, like spread them out in a box and lightly coat, shake when dry, the heavier coated side will naturally end up on the bottom then coat the top again. Also, my dad was an industrial photographer and he used white glue to represent milk so maybe Elmer's glue and the brown paint may make the hot fudge?I always love when you post. I get so much inspiration from you. Thank you.
This would be so cute for a tea party! Thanks for the idea :) God bless you!
This DIY is Soooo dang cute! I can't even. Can't wait to make a couple of these myself. My favorite was the milkshakes.🥛
Just Adorable.
Thanks girl
I absolutely love making faux food! Great job Bethany. You just inspired me to make more 😍
TFS! ❤

Ever try spackle and silicone mixed? I see people using either for face icing, but am curious about the two together!
I can't get the paint to stick to the glass. Is this just me? I have tried over and over with the applebarrel light pink and glass mug from Dollar Tree . Help..
So AWESOME Bethany! I absolutely LOVE all your videos and I look forward to seeing them and making my day. They put a smile on my face during this crazy time and I LOVE seeing Cooper's adorable face too. Keep up the GREAT work. YOU ARE VERY TALENTED GIRL. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU, MATT AND COOPER! 🎊🎉🥳

I love you and your imagination! Happy new year to you and your family Bethany!
Ohhh my goodness! These are absolutely precious....I love them all! This will be my new project for a valentine tree💕💕💕Thank you for sharing!!!
This was so much fun to watch!I am thinking of making this for decorating above my kitchen cabinets. Thanks Bethany!
For the sprinkles just use tiny beads! They have them at dollar tree and they won’t bleed 😊
Good idea 💡😁
Lol she had the glass sprinkles all along!
The icecream is amazing. What if you put a few drops of essential oils in each to smell like the flavor it is supposed to be.
Now that would be cute! Have you tried that? If so let me know if it works.
I know it worked for the bath salts I made.
@@alilsexc It does work. I made some "vanilla" scoops this summer and wanted to try oils. I mixed some in with the spackle before scooping it out. Then over time as the smell faded I would add a couple drops to refresh it. I made sure the spot where I put the oil was hidden as it can make the color darker.
What a amazing idea
It is so helpful when you explain how things may not workout, and tips on how to fix it!
love hearing Coop.He likes hearing you. Wow these shakes look so real. Looks delicious!
Oh Bethany I am in Love, Love, Love with everything you made. Everything looks so real. Thank you for sharing your Talent with us. Happy New Year to you my Friend. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear Friend.
There’s no way I could possibly pick a favorite Bethany; these are all so realistic and yummy looking. I’m amazed at your creativity yet again and I’m definitely going to be giving the spackle technique a try. Thanks once again for being a creative inspiration. All the best in the New Year for your sweet family. 🤗🎆🎉🎊

Omg you’re so freakin talented. ❤️ from Louisiana
It was all so sweet and cute, not sure I could pick just one. The ice cream was very clever and the little cones would make cute tree decor
Such a cute and different idea for Valentines Day decor
Omg bethany the ice cream is so adorable and so real looking!!! I wanted to eat it while I was watching you make them lol!!! So creative and fun. I LOVE Valentine's day! I hope you and Cooper and Matt have a great new years! Love you girl!
So cute... if your “ice cream” is too soft, add flour or corn starch.
Thank you Lisa! I tried that with the DAP sparkle I used and it didn’t work. I don’t know if it was that particular spackle but I kept adding and adding but it wasn’t working.
@@BargainBethany , Bummer.... maybe the type of spackle ? I only use lightweight or featherweight and flour usually does the trick.
Does the flour or corn starch mold at all? I have read about other people using items like corn starch or flour to make chalk paint, however I found it molded on me.
Perhaps the difference is it being out in the air, whereas I made a big batch of paint, and had it in a covered container.
@@dellahicks7231 , I have never used flour or cornstarch to make chalk paint, but when using it to make “frosting”, I have never had it mold on me, but then I have only used it in small amounts... sorry I couldn’t answer you better.
@@lisagoble1148 Thanks for replying Lisa, I find I learn a lot from the comment sections. I actually learned from an individual in a comment section the right ingredient to use to make chalk paint, and it works wonderfully. That's why I always peruse at least some of the comments.
Take Care, Stay Safe! 😊
Omg! I loved everything about this video! My favorite was the milkshakes with whip cream and cherry toppers, however the mini sweet tray was WOW! I love your creativity! Thanks for sharing.
This is one of my favorite DIYs to try. So adorable and it’s making me hungry for sweets. Awesome job and so much creativity!
When she said the dollar tree one gave her the Heebie-jeebies I lost it 🤣🤣😂🤣
Me too! 🤣🤣🤣
Me, too! Her mother must have used that word. My kids used to get hysterical every time I said Heebie Jeebies. LOL
@@parleypratt260 lol. I agree
Do you think these would be safe for children to use if they were sprayed with a sealant? I’m a pre-k teacher and these would be adorable for dramatic play!
Somebody gonna taste it....
Everything is so adorable.
Thank you so much for telling us what didn't work through your experience but everything you did was great absolutely love it.
Hands down the most creative and cutest diys I’ve seen in a long time. And now I’m craving sweets 🍭🍬🧁🍦🍨😂🤣

I’ve just noticed that hey have been phasing out their stock SUPER early this year they were putting all the Christmas stuff away at Target a week before Christmas
I love your faux ice cream with all the toppings. So cute! The candies are also so cute in the little jars and bottles.
Colored sand for sand art works well for the colored sugar look too!!! Thanks for the great video.
Hi new here. How long does it take for this to dry completely?
Bethany they look so real and adorable!🤍🍧💕🍦🤍
What a sweet treat you whipped up!! All are adorable!!
This project is skool creative. It brought back a memory of my friend and I shipping up was for root beer float candles. This was back in the early 70's.
I loved the Valentines video. I lost my sweet Prissy (my yorkie rescue) Christmas morning and everything has seemed so cold and gray and sad since. This reminded that the season will change and this year will be gone and we can focus on the future. ❤️❤️Have a wonderful New Year.
Outstanding! What a Beautiful "Sweet" display!
What a fabulous job you did!! Honestly everything looks so real! Love it! ❤️
You are a genius. I Loved your creativity. I will have a whole new appreciation for spackling and apple barrel paint. Brilliant.
