    Hi! I love your channel, it is an inspiration! Just wanted to let you know your recipe your website for this is missing a few ingredients and some of the instructions are not in the right spot (some of the pastry cream instructions are in the yellow cake instruction area). I ended up just following the video instead.

    Question: can you do the reverse mixing method with the dry ingredients first, and then the wet ingredients with all cake recipes? Does it really help with the moisture, and structure of the cake?
    Thanks:) I’m wondering if I can make my favorite snack attack cake from the Portland Palette cookbook even better 😋

    I just made a Boston Cream pie cake last week for my dads b-day. I made a sponge cake instead of yellow vanilla and I wish I had used this recipe because the sponge was a little chewy.

      @SugarGeekShow  Před 2 lety +1

      I had a similar experience making a Boston cream pie based on the original recipe. The sponge was disappointing. I'm definitely trying this one.

    If you use custard powder instead of corn starch, it is much better.

    Great video! I've been looking for a good Boston Cream recipe and would love to try this out.
    I had a question regarding your mixer--I know you used to feature your Bosch mixer a lot in your older videos. Do you use it less these days? Is the KitchenAid more for aesthetic reasons / that perhaps more viewers might have it?
    I live in Germany (am American), where KitchenAid mixers are far more expensive than Bosch mixers and was considering the Bosch pro that you have. Does it work well for breads, pastry doughs for croissant or something, brioches and things like that?
    Have you continued having good experiences with the Bosch after a few years of having it?
    I saw your video about the Bosch mixer in 2019 and noted how you liked the Bosch's size particularly.

      Hi great questions! I love my Bosch and kitchenaid equally! It’s especially nice with the Bosch for camera purposes because the viewer can see into the mixer easily from the top camera. Breads and pastry doughs do great in both mixers. The only issue I have with the Bosch is that sometimes it’s too big. If you’re making small batches (like for cookies or Macarons) it doesn’t mix as well. But for medium/large batches it’s great. Hope this helps!

      @conor698 Před 2 lety

      @@SugarGeekShow Thank you so much! Sorry for not replying sooner. I think I'll go with the Bosch! But good to know about the small batch thing. I guess it incentivizes me to make larger batches! Definitely helps a lot :)
