The bird pokemons are just sheesh. Flamigo is literally just a flamingo with more feathers on the base of it's neck and Bombirdier is just a stork with an apron made of feathers.

My flamigo is named featherstone after the gnomeo and Juliet character, thought it was funny looking ended up keeping it on my team and LET ME TELL YOU. Flamigo hits like a damn truck, super useful Pokémon

anyone defending these designs and calling critics genwunners just dont get it. These designs lack character and are easily forgettable, at least simple designs from past gens had distinct eyes/expression. these look just empty.

It really looks like the designers went all out on trying to give this game's pokemon a different feeling than other regions, similar to what they did with previous gen but even more now
Some of these look either bad or boring, some look very interesting, and just a handful seem average good
I doubt this part of the game was like that because of time, since the pokemon themselves have always been meant to be the main atractive of the games. My bet is that they wanted to experiment a bit with the designs this time around

Two of the starter evolutions are humanoid once again and the one that isnt is still lame… there are some gems in there for sure but its trending downwards overall.

And a spirited duck/peacock that knows capoeira
I'm gonna say this is actually a really solid starting lineup even if they seemed to have quietly called out the people upset about fire types standing up and punching people.

Those are future versions of certain Pokémon that can only be found in Violet. Scarlet, on the other hand, has PAST versions of Pokémon for you to find, like that Jigglypuff.

it's a game based off portugal and spain, which to this day still have bullfighting as a big part of the culture, spain also has the run of the bulls, so taurus should basically be a pseudo legendary in this game
