I don’t know anything about the racing scene but I used to love rc cars growing up! Back in the 80’s the Tamiya kits were legendary. Having one usually meant you had an uncle or grandparent that could help you put it together. A few of my friends had Tamiya kits. One had The Grasshopper and my cousin eventually got Blackfoot. There were tons of local hobby shops back then where you could get everything you needed. One shop catered exclusively to RC enthusiasts and they had EVERYTHING. I miss those days. What I’m watching in this video looks like RC racing on rocket fuel! Lol
Get a polishing wheel on a Dremel and polish out the idle screw and channel. Polish it all out. Don't use strong abrasive just a soft wheel with little polishing compound.
Your carb wore off cause it was on angle, you have to align carb straight as possible to throttle rod, and once you mount it you have feel by hand that it moves freely
Budget, right up my alley. Im gathering up the goods for a budget car. I have a preowned hb 818 i think, cheap ali express pipe, and ordered a sh ps2010xbhcp. Im hoping its a good engine? I might buiild my own starter box. What servos are you running? I have a bunch of airplane fuel to use up but will try it in my hyper 7 first.
All i know about nitro is you dont want the slightest airleak anywhere, intake or exhaust!
Budget servo of choice is an AGFRC B53BHP V2 for 1/8 Buggy and anything 10th scale. They are damn near indestructible. Go get some clean fuel for the new motor. I wouldn't even mess with the old stuff..
whats the redwbeel on your flysky
it's a pink gel to replace the foam.
What did the retaining screw look like?
Looked perfectly fine to me. I'm probably going to do a motor breakdown as part of the next video. My Goal at this point is to make this carb work without purchasing anything else. If I can't the budget part goes out the window.. Stay tuned.
That’s a bummer you dealt with so many different problems my first sh would get stuck at tdc often even after a gallon and a half
Oddly enough when it didn't stick it ran really consistent. Smooth all the way through the power band. Definitely not the fastest thing in the world.. but without the issues I was heading for a top 3 finish in my heat. Just need to get the carb figured out. Maybe a different one all together?
@@gainsrc I’m not sure what carbs fit in those engines but the current carb looked toast any of that metal shavings is going to end up between the piston and sleeve it would be worth replacing with a factory or equivalent it seems a lot if the lower end budget friendly engines actually are decent little mills it’s just the carbs always have their own little quarks I wonder if an os carb would fit I know the venturis are not compatable
Greta was here... 🙂
I'll bet she's responsible for the damaged carburetor.
Nitro by me is $65 a gal
That's crazy.
I'm able to get VP Lutz blend locally for 45 a gallon, I consider us kinda lucky where we are, and I'm also tempted to buy a case before the price goes up...
Cheers
