- Panicle Hydrangeas are really the easiest Hydrangeas to grow. They bloom off of the new wood, so you never have to worry about if and when you should trim them. I put this list together so you would know when the different Panicle Hydrangeas bloom so you can extend your hydrangea color during the summer. Below is the link to see all the hydrangeas that I talked about in this video.

Thank you, Heidi! This is such a concise explanation of the somewhat confusing lineup of hydrangeas!
Glad it was helpful!
Heidi, This video is very informative. I love how you described the earliest to bloom and then to the latest! I have taken my notes!!!! Thank you🤗🌺
Glad it was helpful!
Now all PW has to do is make a fragrant hydrangea. 🌷💚🙃
lol wouldn't that be nice.
I love, love firelight tidbit. I just has a ton of blooms and the panicles turn pink in fall. ❤️
It is so amazing. So many big flowers on a small package.
Love all the hydrangeas 💖
So do I!!!!
I ordered 4 Quick Fire Fabs and 3 Little Quick Fires from Garden Crossings!! I can't wait for their arrival! So excited!!
Thanks for letting us be a part of your garden 💕🌻🌺

This video shows how to have the most hydrangea color all summer.
Great summary
Thanks for watcing
Great video for those gardeners who can find room for a few more Hydrangeas😁 Heidi, this was an excellent comparison video for the Panicle type Hydrangeas. Now, we need one for the other types as well.
Firelight tidbit is only 2 to 3 feet tall and has a lot of blooms.
Glad it was helpful! I feel like the bigleaf all bloom about the same time.
it is a great selection
Very helpful, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video! I just got the firelight tid bit and potted it in container , hopefully it will give me some blooms this season .
Thank you for letting us be a part of your garden.
Thank you for the great line up / comparison of the panicle hydrangeas. So helpful to see them all together and know bloom time and size. Fairly new to your channel. Already used some of your container combination ideas! 🪴😁
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for subbing
Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
This is a helpful video. Thank you! Now to decide which ones I want?!
All of them. lol In all seriousness, think of the space you have and select the sized ones that make the best use of your space.
Thank you Heidi. 🌷💚🙃
You are so welcome!
Hi Heidi 🌺what abeautiful infomation about all types of hydrangeas . I love all hydrangeas they are amazing plants . Have awonderful and Happy Easter ✝️
Thank you! You too!
Thanks Heidi, you do such a great job on your video’s. Love this one and I’m hoping to find some of these here in Canada. I have the room to dabble in a bunch of these for continued blooms. I always get confused with how to prune hydrangeas hopefully I can remember this time lol.
I did several videos this fall that you can reference!
Love having some smaller ones to add in filler spots or containers. I got a couple of the fairy trail bride and am thrilled to see them budded up. I’m zone 6 and originally these were only hardy to 5. So glad they are tougher than originally thought.
They were actually hardy to zone 7, so you are doing good if you got buds in zone 6.
I have lot's of Little Quick Fire's and Bobo's, they just look so romantic and pretty and bring me so much happiness all summer and fall! Looking to plant some Quick Fire Fab's this spring.
You will love them!
Great information! Can you suggest which type world do best to plant along a fence?
I really any of the panicle hydrangeas would work. You will want to look at their sizes and see what size best fits the look you are going after.
This is so helpful! I’ve had my eyes on Vanilla Strawberry because I adore the cream/light pink color - that’s what I’d like the majority of the time the colors to be, but also pretty red color in fall (not brown). However, I recently came across the Quick Fire Fab that you mention. Do you have any input between these 2 varieties? Thank you 🤗
Personally I like Quick fire Fabor Firelight for the look you are talking about.
@@gardencrossings thanks so much for your expertise - the quickfire fab seem perfect 🤩
Great video. I live in an area where deer often eat through flower gardeners. Is any of these hydrangea species particularly deer resistant or maybe even deer deterring? Thanks.
Unfortunately Hydrangeas are not deer resistant. Oakleaf hydrangeas and climbing hydrangeas maynot be as appealing tp them.
Which one would you suggest for the most dramatic color change?
I love Firelight, but there are so many new ones that are also nice like Quickfire Fab, Firelight Tidbit to name a few.
Hi Heidi! Thank you again for the great video! Can I ask you something? Do you know if those panicle hydrangeas will bloom in part shade in zone 5b? My main garden pattern is English roses mixed with panicle hydrangeas. I have the Quick Fire Fab, Vanilla Strawberry, Strawberry Sundae, and my favorite Bobo all thriving and blooming in full sun, but the front of my house faces East and gets sun only in the morning. I wonder if the panicles will bloom in this kind of setting in my zone 5b. Thank you! 😊
If you are getting at least 6 hours of sun they should bloom fine for you. My neighbor faces east and has the Bobos and they are doing great.
@@gardencrossings Thank you so much! I am going to observe how many hours of sun this spot gets exactly. 😊
Hello ! Could you please let me know why not all the buds opens to flowers, this makes the cone skinny and bare. What am i doing wrong? Thank you
You can send me a picture of your plants and I can try to help you.
How about strawberry sundae
We do carry that variety.
Which varieties of paniculata can you propagate that the patent has run out?
That is not information that I have.
Hi Heidi, Thanks for uploading nice videos. I have a question about Firelight Hydrangea. Here, you said it's 4 to 6 feet tall and wide, but in some other places, I heard it grows 6 to 8 feet. So, what is the actual height of the plant? Or if it really grows bigger, can we maintain the height by cutting back every year? How is the growth rate of this plant? Thanks.
Mine usually tops out at 6' before i trim them back. This is a very easy plant to maintain, it can be trimmed in the fall or spring. It blooms on the new growth.
@@gardencrossings Thanks a lot for the reply. This means i can trim back every year to keep it shorter in height.
A couple of seasons ago I planted Bobo hydrangeas. I had to move them because I don't think they got enough sun. Is there a small (3-5ft) panicle or hydrangea that would do better in a shadier spot? Bonny zone 5b
You may be better off trying the Big Leaf Hydrangeas if you have a shadier spot. Here is a link:

@@gardencrossings Heidi do you know anything about the new Let's Dance Sky View Hydrangea.
what about 'pinky winky'? you didn't mention her.
You are right I did not. She is s mid summer bloomer
Hydrangeas are my downfall, I have almost all the ones that you talked about, they are all beautiful!
They sure are. And so reliable
I purchased two Quickfire Fabs about 6 weeks ago and planted them immediately. One is blooming but the other is not (in fact it has no buds whatsoever). Any idea why? Should I return/replace the plant?
No, it could just be slower than the other. Give it time.
Thank u!😅
