We have one pig…I’ve been getting discarded veggies from the farmers market. Most farmers are glad that those slightly bruised peaches or tomatoes and starchy corn or damaged pumpkins are going to be used for something. They can’t sell the stuff generally so they have to throw food that’s mostly good in the dumpster. After all the work that goes into farming, throwing away your produce must be disheartening.

Slave labor?! My 9 mini pigs LOVE rooting through brush, poison ivy, multiflora rose thickets, etc. We love our pigs and they’re pets, not food. I don’t have a problem with people raising pigs for food. Ours are strictly pets, though, and I’d feel bad for NOT allowing them to root around on our land. They rush to it when we let them out of their big pen. Thank you for the excellent videos! They’ve helped us out a whole lot!

Yes our local grocery store lets me leave a plastic tub with a lid and they fill it every few days with discarded or outdated fruits and veggies and its for free.

I'm all for saving food that would be thrown away and using it for animal feed. But you need to be careful with feeding them so much bread and sugar at once. It will mostly add fat and not quality meat. Fruits and vegetables are a much better option.

I'm enjoying this older video, cracks me up seeing people freak out about pigs eating moldy bread.....yall realize the dig in the ground and eat stuff right? Mold ain't nothing but a thing for a pig.
