- MSFS's Sim Update 15 brings more changes. The A320 appears to be getting prepped from Inibuilds arriving alongside Sim Update 15. Plus, plenty more aircraft and airports are coming from different studios!
Scheduled for March 26th, Sim Update 15 has been a hot topic lately. Jorg Neumann and the development team provided insights into what to expect in the first quarter.
Five patches have been released so far, addressing various issues and improvements. Joining the Beta version allows users to experience these updates firsthand.
Performance and Memory Efficiency:
Significant emphasis on enhancing performance and memory efficiency, particularly within glass cockpits.
ATC Interaction: Efforts to refine the simulator's interaction with live ATC, alongside improvements to memory performance.
Glass Cockpits Enhancements: Introduction of G3X Touch with extensive customization options and compatibility with various default and third-party aircraft.
General Bug Fixes: Improvements in ATC, live traffic, aircraft models, and liveries, with enhancements in iced water simulation and stability.
Aircraft Updates:
A320 by Inibuilds: Version 2 of the A320 to be included as a default aircraft in Sim Update 15, featuring significant improvements and optimizations.
Dornier DO 31: The next release under the Local Legend series, offering a unique VTOL aircraft experience.
Peripheral Support:
Updates on peripheral support, including improvements to the Yawman controller and insights on the Velocity One Flight Deck controller.
Overall, Sim Update 15 promises substantial improvements in performance, realism, and user experience, with a focus on addressing community feedback and enhancing various aspects of the simulator.

Oh great. It’s great to have updates but does everyone else cringe knowing it’s coming and thinking what is going to be broken?? And I’ll also add that their attitude on fixing glaring VR issues is appalling.
Definitely raises the anxiety level up a few notches when it’s update time
I’m so worried it’s still not gonna run right on Xbox.

They broke my sim in VR with those latest updates .
I still believe the most important thing for them is this still is the most beautiful sim for streaming videos. There is no FFB, not paying attention to VR says everything.

How about a sim update that fixes the default airport terminals with no lights at night.
Now, will this update finally fix the problem of controllers disconnecting during flights? Heck, it has been FOUR YEARS now and so far, they have NOT fixed this. It was first reported years ago. Why has it not been fixed?
I'm disgusted. My stutters are so bad on landing I have stopped playing. Have not flown in two weeks. Used to have butter smooth performance. Happened on the stupid Dune update.
I had them too, until I got AutoFPS last week.
Exactly my point, they waste time on turning it into a game for Xbox now rather than a proper SIM for PC users who want to fly seriously using OFP and full flight plans.
The next version of MSFS 2024 will be a Jack Sparrow edition, until it works correctly, sick oh spending $100s on aircraft scenery etc for the next update to screw things up.
Removed my Dune update.
I took Dune out! It should be on a separate platform altogether. Not on MSFS!
Yip i deleted it aswell, what i hate is the big CTD when ive got a short distance to go after flying 3hrs 🤬

I uninstalled mine last year, was pretty stable at very first, but as time has gone on it's been one glitch after another. It's like an eternal beta release...
My system ran MSFS perfectly when first put out.
Then I got stutters, had to do a bunch of settings changes, and no stutters.
Then… stutters again. Last night it was almost impossible to land because of the stutters.
It was worse than watching a slide show. The stutter rates were all over the place
Yeah, they said the performance is better. But when it was first released I ran it on a 9700k with a 2070 super on high/ultra settings. Now on a 13700 and 3070 ti, my settings are on medium and stutters are horrendous in VR.
After the beta 15 update, they born another's problems, bugs, lags.....

How can I download the sim update 15 beta?
Hi, check XBox Insider Hub and sign up for beta there, this is a 2 min process. Once it is confirmed on Beta Sign up, restart the sim and you should be good.
Kids bought dad Fs24 , spent hours trying to install all 10m disks but stops when it meets a cab file ... end of installation. Laptop ok, not used for too many apps and enough space to install.
Anyone got any ideas on how to open a .cab file or get around it?
Fs2024 isnt out yet. fs2020 doesnt come on disk as far as I know. I think whatever you bought wasnt microsoft 2020

What I would like to see is someone make WORLD Sim. Where Putting Flight sim, Train Sim, Truck sim, Farm sim, Bus sim, Racing Sims all into one sim, Be real nice to flight over and see real things moving like trains moving through the country side, tracks and Buses moving on the highways/ towns. people farming and seeing real time crops. it would make Sim more realistic and more immersive. Does anyone agree with me, or it this way to soon to happen to combine sims in to one.?
watch out for outerra world sandbox. they are developing exactly that. it will be a few years down the line though. you can have a glimpse and tec demo if you google outerra anteworld.
i am also wishing and hoping for a "world sim" for many years. just to be able to manually travell or hike everywhere, and switching transportation without switching sim. and all in first person..would be so amazing.
A few of us tried to do this a decade ago (as devs go, we were a dream team). What killed it was no-one was willing to front the money to make it reality. We tried, REALLY hard to make it. Money is what killed it. If you tell an investor it will take longer than 18 months, forget it. We needed about 5 years. We could have done it. The tech exists for most of it already.

Gah! So I’m going to have to update 100s of programs and add-ons and go through painstakingly grueling tweaks and fixes to get my FPS stable again that I just recently perfected after the last big update? Cool.

No, it is a local legend/famous flier, none of which have been free.

Console will still have black screens, ctd, still can't see others liveries. Why can't they put liveries on ai aircraft? My list can go on for days. I really hope 2024 is way better

Wish they had NEVER went down the Xbox route, and kept the SIM only for PC, at least they would have got more done to provide a perfect flight SIM. Instead, they have turned in into a stupid game with Dune and Halo crap, with constant bugs, every update. Just as well, there is X Plane 12.

You act like there are no bugs in XPlane 12, and that people haven't been adding stuff like the Pelican and ornithopter for at least 25 years. You don't have to install those things if you don't like them. As for the Xbox route, that is what is keeping this version running: the install base. The hardcore PC pilots have never been enough to keep the game going on their own, it's why so much work was done by 3rd party developers, on their own dime, or have you forgotten that? XPlan 12 is no different. They released the platform make tweaks but largely leave the addons to the 3rd party developers. Where was the last time Laminar put a full fidelity aircraft into the game or even a new first party aircraft that wasn't part of the original release? As for MSFS being a game, if you think that, then you truly have no idea what you're talking about, and are doing it wrong but, that's just my two cents.
@ImpendingJoker that's what he meant. Xplane 12 is no different with bugs. I agree with him. Since the Xbox release the sim has lowered in quality. I remember when the sim released the LOD was perfect and there were no stutters. Then they had to lower it tpnaccpmmodate Xbox. Now objects don't stay in memory and have to render all over again. In airports objects far from you don't render. Ai aircraft landing gear don't render cause they are far from you. It looks so off watching planes land. I knew this would happen!
There are many problems with this iteration of FS, BECAUSE it is a console port. The helicopters in FS2020 are an AFTER-THOUGHT, and even worse than the rubbish that was in FSX. It's an absolute joke. Everything must be dumbed-down to the console otherwise people flying with a damn XBox controller won't have a hope in hell of controlling the aircraft. It's about pretty scenery and NOT THE SIMULATOR. Heck - they can't even do consoe properly as glass-cockpit aircraft frequently suffer from display black-out due to the XBox running out of system resources and M$ not knowing how to fix it. They don't care -- they already got your money. @@ImpendingJoker
