- Just a quick video on how to make and assemble the wood craft slicer kits. These are an extremely good seller at shows especially around the holidays, they would go great with charcuterie boards and I’ve even seen some make the slicer into charcuterie board itself! If you have any questions please let me know in the comments section below.
Man those are nice, i been wanting to try and make one of those... really nicely done
Do it! It’s a quick win! I love doing big projects but getting a quick win from something like this is nice too!
Thanks for the simple video. I have a question… the instructions I have (and kit too) sent me an extra wire and said within the first few steps of putting the wire in, it will actually break and I’m to remove the broken wire pieces and put a new wire instead.. you won’t seems to have this issue? Thanks
I have never heard of that with any of the kits I’ve bought in the past, not saying one of them doesn’t but these that I get from woodcraft have never mentioned. As long as the slot for the wire is cut correctly I’ve never had a problem with the wire binding or breaking and I’ve assembled quite a lot of these slicers.
What brand of kit do you have that says this?
Where do you get the hardware kits from?
The hardware comes from woodcraft this is the large kit shown in the video.
How much is a cheese cutter all made
I normally make and sell these locally for $50.
@@TheCountryCraftsman thats awsome love your work new subscriber here thanks
No problem, thanks for watching!
oi, you need to slant those cuts!
Not sure I’m following? Any advice is welcome though!
Never make straight cuts on cheese boards with limited thickness like those. The moment they fall or hit the ground they will break. You need to raise one edge at least a 1/2 in and make slanted cuts.@@TheCountryCraftsman
Never had an issue with that, the board still has enough meat below the groove to be plenty strong. I’ve done a lot of them this style/size without an issue. Not saying it couldn’t happen, but I’ll take that into consideration!
@TheCountryCraftsman he is talking about the cut for the wire. It needs to be slanted. You are not leaving enough grain and that board has a weak spot all the way across it now.
It’s still over a 1/4” of material still plenty of material to hold it. Slanting the cuts won’t increase strength. The plans/instructions also call for it to be this way. I’ve also never had an issue on well over 100 boards.
