I wonder is Max embarrassed about the whole thing and that’s why he keeps getting the documentary taken down. It would be interesting to get him on the podcast to tell his side of the story.

I remember watching that documentary and tbh the goofy, awkward dynamic, "Stop the madness!" etc actually made it more chaotic/gonzo and interesting, a cut above the rest. Plus Max hassling and Pete punching him in the face, it's rock n roll, could be seen as a gift. I want to watch it again.

Max's documentary was never finished. Stalking Pete Doherty was a Channel 4 documentary made about the documentary that Max Carlish made. They interviewed his mother and others on it then intercut it with some of Max's footage. It was pretty bizarre tbh.

Watching the documentary, I couldn't help but wonder if Max was in love with Pete. Not that there's anything wrong with it - but the way he oversexualized things talking about Pete through the whole thing was quite striking, very noticeable.

I have a copy of the documentary that someone sent me, I tried to upload it here a number of years ago and it was taken down. I've not watched the footage since probably 2015 but sad that people can't just go online and watch it anymore. It's bleak and sordid but it's also a piece of history.

@@johndocherty8870 I tried uploading it again but it wouldn't let me because "Max J Carlish" put a copyright claim in on 27 Aug 2015. I thought they'd have forgotten about that but clearly not.

He’s brilliant! Look at his random objects in the background. Love it. 😊

Interesting to hear the other perspective- in the doc there were snippets of folk being quite aggressive to Max.
One important detail is that Max was most most likely knee deep in a manic episode during the doc. He appears now to both work in the NHS in advocacy & is an intelligent man. It's good to see that he's in a better place, regardless of how he acted by publishing the pictures.

I'm glad max documented it, it showed the dark side of Pete and his privileged entourage.

I suppose that much of their antics were public knowledge though, no?
