Its difficult for me to believe this former detective after I read that a judge said Kading bribed during a separate investigation. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune article from September 26, 2009 states:
"Judge Stephen V. Wilson cited police and government misconduct as reasons to overturn Torres’ convictions. Wilson singled out LAPD Sgt. Greg Kading, ruling that Kading bribed and threatened key witnesses to obtain testimony against Torres. The LAPD veteran made “promises of immunity, money, and benefits while in prison, to drug dealers who faced decades of prison time,” Madison said.
I can't lie man, for me that Federal Judge's comment makes Kading's detective work seem untrustworthy. It makes my brain wonder how many more people (potentially) got screwed over and thrown into prison because of dishonest detective work. That is f'ed up!

Speaking of the bullets that killed Biggie, there was one unspent round found on the ground. (An unfired bullet.) I've always wondered what that was indicative of.
For instance I've wondered at what point did that happen, and I've wondered for what reason was that round ejected Did the shooter rack the slide before they fired? Not realizing that there was already a round in the chamber? Or was the shooter clearing a malfunction after they fired? If it was a momentary malfunction, I wonder would the shooter have continued to shoot more rounds if not for that malfunction? (If it was a malfunction.)
These are rhetorical questions of course. I don't think the reason why there was a live round will ever be known. Anyone familiar with an automatic handgun though knows there is really only a couple of ways that would occur. Racking the slide with a round already in the chamber, or clearing a malfunction. It certainly didn't just fall out on its own
It's a small detail that gives some context to what was actually occurring in those moments.
On a side note, imagine being in possession of that bullet? (For collector purposes) That would be an interesting conversation piece An unfired bullet from Biggie's murder weapon. A bullet that could have easily been shot at Biggie but for whatever reason it wasn't.
I know there is a 2Pac fan out there that has a fired bullet fragment from 2Pac's shooting. It was dug out of the door after the BMW was released from the police impound lot. (Kind of says something about the sloppy work by LV Metro. They didn't even collect all of the physical evidence )
