the way that vlog ends with "i will see you when i'm dead" is so abrupt oh goodness
Yeah that wasn't depressing at all...
Yeah because she dies in the musical so means that she’ll be back once her character has died
It made me laugh so hard! 😂
"I will not compare myself to a stranger on Instagram", I LOVE that mug!
I noticed that as well its a great line
f**k it
I GOT A RECALL FOR A DRAMA SCHOOL AND IM VERY PROUD OF THAT THANK YOU!!!!
congrats!!
Congratulations! You 100% should be proud of that! Go you!!
Woot woot!!
Congrats, you worked hard and it paid off. Go You! Hope everything continues your way.
congrats!!! what school!!
My late grandmother called it :" Hiding your light under a bushel" , and she hated the idea of that. Let your flag fly proudly, and shine that light for all to see!
Let your free flag flow, let your free flag fly! Let your free flag, let your free flag fly!!!!! 🎶
IM PROUD OF MYSELF FOR GETTING A REALLY DIFFICULT CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY PLACEMENT FOR NEXT YEAR AND I CANT WAIT
Sophie Smith Congratulations!!!
well done lovely!!
its' a year later, i hope the placement is going well!!
sorry but whoever tweeted that doesn't know many tradesmen. My BF is a landscape gardener and his insta story constantly has the block paving hes proud of doing or whatever hes working on. You have every right to be proud of whatever you work on 100% agree!
Same with my brother!
My thoughts exactly, every tradesmen I know, take pictures and put them on Facebook.
Yep! Artists I follow post their work, teachers I know share compliments or cards they've received from pupils, my brothers who are in the merchant navy share updates on things from training they've passed to beautiful photos of the destinations they're working in! And yes, I do feel envy when I see those updates but also I feel happy for those people, and I can't imagine how negative the world would be if you could only talk about mundane things and never be proud!
I know this is an old comment but I agree whoever wrote that tweet is completely wrong my dad has PHOTO ALBUMS from years ago with all of the DIY he’s done that he’s proud of, of course things have moved on now and he either keeps them in his phone, sends them to my mum or puts them on insta. Why shouldn’t he share things he’s done and is proud of. Some people are so miserable and bitter 🙄
Carrie, never down play your accomplishments. As Jamie says in The Last Five Years:
"I will not fail so that you can be comfortable. I will not lose because you can't win."
Wise words to be found in musicals... listen to them 😊
He may not be the best example lol. Great sentiment, though!
@@caitfoster733 I mean, no, perhaps not. But out of context it works a treat 😉
@@KirstenD2 I thought of that lyric too, but then in context yeah it's quite rough (and totally not what Cathy is doing/asking of him) haha. Out of context though, definitely some wisdom that can be found
Hahaha I concur, out of context that is a great lyric but in context of the musical... 😬😬 bad example 😂
oo what musical?
The fact that some people can’t be happy for other people’s success without being bitter and trying to bring them down about it is beyond me.
You better celebrate your successes with us, Carrie 👏🎉
And those negative Nancys can go piss off and watch something else!
can’t just be me that died with laughter at 10:40 when a passer by stared with much intent at carrie vlogging😂
Jessica Curtis YES!
pompom45 haha wasn’t it toooo funny😂😂
I can’t believe that anyone would ever “hate” on Carrie... Personally I think that everything you advocate for is amazing!!!
Nearly Every Carrie Hope Fletcher Video:oh,my red lights flashing so I’m going to have to say this quickly😂❤️
One of my favourite quotes I like to live by is: “when someone tries to bring you down, it only means that you’re above them”.
I’m never afraid to “show off” what I accomplished and I’m always excited to hear what my friends and family have achieved too.
Carrie: "Oh, I wish there were butterflies and ponies and unicorns"
Me: "There are butterflies and ponies! the world is 2/3 awesome!
There’s an unwritten social law in Sweden, ”jantelagen”, which is exactly what you’re describing - don’t celebrate yourself, don’t think you’re special. It’s very ingrained in Swedish culture as well, it’s quite sad!
Isn't that the opposite of what she is saying?
In Australia, it's called tall poppy syndrome
It is written, it is from a Danish book.
Yup, we’ve got the exact same thing in Norway as well. Like “don’t think that you’re better than anyone else”.
Your coat reminds me of Mickey Mouse’s coat in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice! (in the best way, of course!) 🥰
I didn’t realise I had this ingrained in me until Carrie said “that’s something I’m really good at and I’m proud of that” and I cringed at the idea of me saying it!!
When I was 8 I got a part in a film just randomly after a casting director came to my small town school. It was so exciting for 8yo me. Yet when I came back to school I got bullied, spat on called a show off. This made me not pursue an acting career just to fit in. Growing up it made me not want to do anything theatrical or creative :( I'm now 38 and a mum of a 5yo who I would hate to ever not be proud of something he's done. Thank you for saying about being proud of success. Meant a lot xx
Missed these longer vlogs
And you’re very correct when you said that women tend to down play their accomplishments. We need to stop doing that! The next time someone asks me ‘ Hey what’s new?’ I’m going to try to think of something positive to say about my day/week even if it’s something small.
You know what you’re so right I never realised how much I minimised my achievements
i have really bad social anxiety especially around people i don't know and today i had to show some people around my school and i'm really proud of myself for not freezing up or crying or doing something stupid and i know thats a small achievement but i don't care
For interviews I always have to pretend I'm going for an audition and be like "what is me on my best day?" And literally do a wonder woman pose in the bathroom before I walk into that room... I think it's bizarre that I have to get into a completely different headspace rather than talk about my Very Boring Job that I'm Actually Very Good At (and quite frankly wasted on) soooo eh its a weird one
Confidence Janey, wonder woman confidence!
Carrie, have you watched Taylor Swifts new documentary? It focuses a lot on the things you were chatting about in this video and I think you'd love it!! It's Miss Americana on Netflix
I just watched this!!!! It was quite enlightening on everything she's been through :) still making good music!!!!
I totally agree with you that people are discouraged from celebrating success. I do find that it's weirdly easier to talk about things I haven't achieved than those I have, which is a bit off. So, in light of that - I recently got a new job and I'm really excited and proud because it took me ages and a lot of work to get it!
The guy giving you the "eye roll" look at morph suit guy, he's just hysterical! lol Love your reaction to him. :-)
exactly! there is nothing wrong with celebrating what you've done and what you've achieved! we need to be able to say "hey, i'm really proud of this thing i did" no matter how big or small that thing may seem to be. life can be rather shitty at times, so why not celebrate all the good that comes your way, especially if you've worked hard for it?
8:16 I agree! I'm a confectioner and of course I sometimes share pictures of my cakes or desserts online!
Carrie I came and saw you at a McFly meeting, heathers les miserables and the Adams family and you was just amazing!! Xx
I gave birth to a beautiful daughter 3 months ago and I am super proud of myself and my body. People say 'you're not the first woman to give birth' and I'm not, but that doesn't stop me feeling proud of my achievement :)
The doorbell pic would get a thumbs up from me! Please celebrate your accomplishments, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I am one of the only people who get genuinely happy when people achieve something great? I mean seriously! When the people I love are accomplishing great things I am really happy for them. Not only that but it makes me want to try that much harder to archive my own goals. Don't see it as someone having something you don't, see it as motivation to push yourself to go further!
I'm sat on the sofa watching this blog when my husband pipes up from the other side of the room with a massive... "YES! I totally agree with everything she has just said! I bloody love how she speaks her mind!"
It equally scared me half out of my skin and put a massive smile on my face 😊
We have a "law" in Norway called "Jamteloven" and it was made a long long time ago that basically has different bulletpoints saying that "don't feel you are worth anything" and "don't think you are good at something". It's hated in Norway, but is also very ingrained in our culture, so it's a complicated thing!
Yes yes yes to ALL of this!! Celebrate ur accomplishments ⚡️ live in ur power and shiiiiine your light ✨✨✨
9:00
So... Carrie wishes that we could all get along like we used to in middle school? That she could bake a cake made out of rainbows and smiles and we'd all eat and be happy?
omg don’t do that to me :(
YAY I've been so anxious today and this video will be 13 minutes of calm
it feels so cozy and nostalgic watching your vlogs!
Carrie, I love how real your videos are. Love you do much💖
love love love seeing you pop up in my subscriptions❤️
yes carrie! i hope you’re proud of urself for putting out that empowering message
It’s so strange that you talk about not minimising your success / being made to feel bad about your achievements, because it felt like you were talking right down the lens to me. I’ve just had a really great achievement at work but have been made to feel bad about it by my co-workers out of jealousy...... your comments made me want to continue to feel proud about it, so thank you!
This really brightened up my day!🌻
do you know what, i really needed this. i always worry about what other people think of me and always overthink how i word things on social media so people don’t think i sound vain or self-obsessed, but tbh who cares!! if i want to celebrate my success i will! yes to self love!! ❤️❤️❤️
You are such an inspiration, love you Carrie ❤❤❤❤
So glad you enjoyed floating! I just started working in a float spa and it’s lovely :)
I’m glad I say down and watched this! You are amazing and I’ve been missing out on your content for years now! In high school your singing videos and warmups made a huge difference for me! 💜💜 be proud you are incredible!
Been watching you for years Carrie and still love your content, make whatever inspires you😊
Love the pink eyeshadow look!! Xx
Your amazing Carrie you cheer me up when I know tommow is gonna be tough for me and I love watching all your old and new vlogs keep up the amazing work x
I really love your videos, Carrie. I've been an avid viewer for over 6 years, and have loved watching you experience all of your successes that you have let the public know, and all of them you truly deserve. Xxxx
Yes, Carrie, live your life!
I miss old school CZcams too, but really enjoy watching sit down and chat videos.
I think you made an amazing point as I feel great when I tell people my achievements but then feel I have to coup them up as people get jealous. Also your such an inspiration to me and I love you very much ❤️ xx
Your such an insightful person I love your videos so much.
So much love and support for you Carrie, would love to see more things that you want to talk about
Amen, Carrie!
I always get jealous when people announce their pregnancies, because I’ve had several miscarriages and struggles with getting pregnant in the first place. Instead, I should be over the moon for those people and know they will be thrilled for me when it does happen.
You’re amazing. I love your channel. It’s my favorite and whenever you upload, I get so excited!
❤️❤️❤️
And its totally valid your you to feel that way. I think yes being happy for them is ultimately the more positive approach, but as long as you aren't tearing them down for its ok to have any emotion or feeling about it
You can be both happy for them and feel really sad because of your own longing, that’s totally fine! Don’t push away your own feelings. They are valid!
Never stop telling us about your accomplishments. They are inspiring and entertaining. 🎉
Carrie, you make videos of what ever you feel like you need or want to. Just be you.
Your little discussion about being proud of achievements really got me
I need an hour-long motivational tape from Carrie to listen to every morning 💪💪🙌
I loved this video, yes Carrie we should be proud of ourselves and you reminded me to believe in myself.
I'm proud of myself for picking up with my writing again, applying for more fulfilling jobs, and trying my best to treat myself with love and kindness when I feel anxious!! YAAAAAAS!!
I really needed that talk about the accomplishments. I struggle talking about things I've done that I'm proud of, particularly in an academic sense, because I never want to seem boasty. But it is down to particular people in certain circles that make me feel like I'm being that way so thank you for that talk, it was something I needed to hear without knowing I needed it x
I love how passionate you were about celebrating success. Thank you. We all need to hear that sometimes. Thanks for keeping up with youtube on the occasion even though you feel different about it thank you used to. I have always loved your videos no matter what they are on, as long as you are happy doing it. Hope you are having a lovely weekend currently. 🌻💛
Carrie you continue to inspire me greatly, but YES to that speech about being proud of our accomplishments!! I agree we continue to downplay our achievements, I went back to ballet after years away and have been put on a waiting list for a company and currently doing classes with Scottish ballet plus hoping to train in MT next year, and I always find myself downplaying it in fear of sounding "up myself" as I've been told before, but honestly thank you so much for this!! Xo
Carrie! I went to see the show on the 31th and took a picture with you when you came to the stage door. I just want to thank you for making my whole trip worth it (I came all the way from Spain to see you and was really nervous I wouldn't get the chance to!) and being the most lovely and down to earth person in the world. I'm glad to see you're speaking about a topic as delicate as struggling with success because it really can affect one's self worth. I myself have struggled with that for a long time and it's comforting to see someone I look up to speaking up about it. Thank you! ❤
You always make really interesting videos and I love seeing notifications for your videos. Never stop being just you because that’s what we love to hear about.
Ps: those float pods look amazing! 😍 xx
I'm rewatching a bunch of Carrie's theatre videos and she says she was meant to leave for good on July 20th and my heart breaks when I realise that's today
Same
Great to see a new upload. Totally agree with your little discussion about being proud of successes and accomplishments! You are so right on - proud of you for sharing.
Plleassseee be always proud of your accomplishments and celebrate every single one of them! Also celebrate with everyone around you for yourself and for them. You deserve it!
Really needed this message, thank you! 💕
Thanks for your encouraging words, Carrie. I think you're totally right, but it still feels good to hear someone agree with me on it from time to time. I wish we could all just feel proud and celebrate our accomplishments together. I'm very glad you're sharing this positive message :)
Amazing when CZcams sends a gift your way , I class this as the best gift ever. Going to be going back to the beginning and binge watching on this stormy weekend. Take care everyone 😉
Very excited to watch this ❤️😍
CELEBRATE!! YOU ARE AWESOME!! You work Hard, it is obvious!!!!!
Hi Carrie, I saw you in Les Mis on the day you filmed the start of this vid. You were absolutely amazing, as was all the cast, and your performance reduced me to tears. I drew a picture for you, but actually couldn't see you at the stage door in the end because I was with my BTEC musical theatre class and we had to get the train :( thank you for being such an inspiration xx
I’m so happy you talked about celebrating one’s successes!! This makes me happy because I just got into the university degree I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but only after being able to do a Bachelor of Arts degree for a year. And at first and I originally felt like I couldn’t be proud of myself straight like all my family and friends until I’ve actually done the work for it. So you talking about this made me think, “I should be proud of myself and celebrate because I have done the work and have been wanting this for a while and I’ve done it!!”
So thank you Carrie for this it just boosted my confidence in myself and made me realise that need to be more proud of myself and my achievements. 💖
Carrie, you are absolutely amazing. You could vlog you doing absolutely nothing for an hour and I would watch. Your spirit and heart is so beautiful and your enthusiasm is out of this world. I love love love your videos. Don't ever doubt yourself. You're the best!!!!
I’m a nurse in A&E. Sometimes I love my job, sometimes I really struggle with how busy it is and how tired I am! I don’t think there’s any harm in moaning about your job or celebrating it as well as all other life accomplishments. It’s normal! I admire you as an actress ❤️ literally my favourite West End star!
frigging love when coats have pockets big enough for your books!
the first time i came to london i bought a coat that had pockets that could sneakily hide the copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban i bought at waterstones so i could read on the tube!
Thank you! Agree with you on this idea about achievements. Love your videos, have a nice day!
😌 This is exactly the kind of video I missed soooo much. Carrie spreading positivity and theatre stuff. And talking about things that matters to her. I love the conversations she starts. 😍
Thank you for talking about how we should be proud and feel free about sharing our self achievements.
To be honest, French education tends to reward the "worst" students in the class when they accomplish a tiny achievement (which is great) but conversely they totally minimize the work and prowess of the good and hard working students, which obviously leads the good students to become lazy and not as good as they should be. This society is going mad. But what people forget too often is that positivity generates positivity. I absolutely get that you can be upset when someone tells you they've achieved something you've always dreamed of achieving. But instead of being jealous, depressed and mad about it, you should feel proud of your friend and be happy for them. They should be a source of inspiration to you instead of a source of stress and negative wave.
Spreading happiness is important, even if you're a bit upset deep down. We should all support each other more and spread love and positivity. Thank you Carrie for this video and for opening our eyes on real society matters. We love you.
You inspire me. My love for theatre is still there, so after watching my friend at Arts Educational School, their production of Freaky Friday, I applied to work as a volunteer reviewer for various theatre shows around London, and so I wrote a test review about my mate's play and I got the review job. :). Building up my portfolio, to maybe getting paid review work.:) Sky's the limit and as Del Boy said in OFAH"the one who dares wins". You inspire me to never give up on one's dreams
Omg Carrie I love what you said in this Video about our achievements, I think your a great role model and your by far the best CZcamsr on this site 💖💖
My heart sang when you said “I’m bored of it”! You do so much good and get a really incommensurate level of nonsense from nobodies for it! Sing out your success Carrie, I love to see it x
Your success inspires me to chase my own success. Please continue celebrating you and all you accomplish. Keep shouting it from the rooftops, you may not always be able to hear us over the other noise but we haven't stopped cheering you on.
Beautiful vlog, you are such a inspirational soul❤️!
When you were talking about congratulating yourself it really hit me somewhere I didn’t know existed. I achieve through sport and that’s my thing but I never like to speak and tell people about my achievements incase they judge me. There’s people better than me at sport but I’ve now realised so what! There’s always going to be people better if not you wouldn’t have people you look up to and aspire to be like and from now on I will tell everyone about my achievements. I will post it online for the people better than me to see because at one point they were in my position and soon I’ll be in there’s ❤️❤️❤️
Also Carrie I got one of your signed Eponine postcards and it’s on my wall so I can look and admire it all the time ❤️🤩
I'm the same way, I am a dancer. Quite good at it really, but I tell myself that I'm not good.. or as advanced as others. Granted I'm in the upper levels. So I agree with you 100% and I'm proud of all the hard work you put into being the best version of you!
Don’t care what people think to a certain extent, just be proud of how much you’ve accomplished. It’s not bragging it’s just facts. In fact you inspire me and so many other people everyday to go for their dreams.
I have loved watching your amazing adventures and incredible things you’ve done/do. Seeing you run is epic inspirational. Seeing you write books while working in a show makes me think that maybe I could do that too. Please don’t ever feel like you can’t celebrate your wins cause of the haters. If they were happy with their own lives then they wouldn’t be online looking at yours.
You inspire me so much and because you said I can share my a I'm going to share them here.
I have recently started a job at the Alhambra Theatre Bradford as FOH staff
In my first to modules of my performing arts degree I got a first for both.
And I've just been cast on stags and hens lots to celebrate recently
despite being subscribed to you since almost the beginning i almost never comment on things but i was just struck so strongly by the idea that your lovely inspirational speech about celebrating your accomplishments felt like it was formed from one of those like, shower argument moments. like you're just in the shower angrily shampooing your hair and being like NO BE PROUD OF THE THINGS YOU'RE GOOD AT!! (anyway you're right and you're amazing)
After seeing the news of Cinderella this morning I feel like I have been celebrating for you all day! CZcams is such a strange beast, I don’t know you by any means, but that doesn’t mean I’m not cheering you on from my corner of the world haha. After following you for the last 7 years I have such a keen outsiders perspective of the sheer facts concerning just how much you have achieved in such a short time. Keep killing it❤️ you are such bright and shining inspiration!
I think Carrie has hit the nail on the head, I got a new job as a support worker for women with mental health needs back in December and i have never done a job like this and i was nervous about starting and not being good enough but i have found out that i just need to be there and listen if the women are having hard time and help them live more independently and i found out that, that is what I'm good at and i haven't said anything to friend and family because i didn't think they would care or be interested in but I'm proud of myself for taking that step outside my comfort zone and helping other people who need someone to listen to
Yas girl! Well said!
I loved this video! Really appreciate the accomplishment discussion, I think more people should be talking about how great their work is! I almost wish pieces like that were separate from the week review sometimes, I'd love to send it to a wider audience.
Also, glad we got to see a full view of the coat- it's awesome!
seriously, you are probably the only youtube that I just watch for you, not the content. I don't care what you film, it's always interesting. Especially your life in the west end, because I'm an aspiring performer! I recently covered I dreamed a dream on my youtube because of you!
Two years late, but yes to sharing successes and not diminishing one's self.
I totally agree. Celebrate your achievements. I recently taught myself how to use an angle grinder to cut bricks, and created a cat-flap from scratch.
In Norway we have something called "janteloven" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Jante) and it describes exactly what you're talking about. Never stop talking about your achievements, it's really inspiring. Lots of love x
