Hi I have my accounting exam for aca’s coming up soon and I’m really confused by one type of question. I know the calculation to answer it but can’t get my head round the T accounts for it. It’s rent receivable so the question will say X amount was received as rent in 20X5. Beginning of FY there was rent arrears of Y, and rent in advance of Z and end of year rent arrears of A and rent In advance of B. I know which to minus and which to add but cannot work out why/the T accounts for this particular scenario
Thank you! Love your vids!
Hey james, can you make a video explaining bad debts if there isnt a video already made?.Love the accounting videos, they are very helpful.
Thanks for your request, I'll keep that in mind for future videos :)
Hi, new the channel. It's amazing and thank you for doing these videos. Last December I started taking courses for Bookkeeping and have obtained my first three certifications (Bookkeeping, Accounting and Payroll) and JUST began my fourth one on the subject of this very video, Quickbooks Online. Your video will now serve as a launchpad for it. :D Thanks, and keep up the good work!
No worries, all the best with your studies!!
James I think u should do a summery accounting video for ppl before test
Thanks for your suggestion!
Hey James I thought about a great video and this might be a little difficult but basically find a local business say a dentist office and see if you can get their invoices and bills for a month (of course black out sensitive information) and have a video where we can practice doing someones bookkeeping using quickbooks for a month as if its the real thing and have the answers to see if we recorded everything correct. I think that would definitely help a lot with people wanting to get into the bookkeeping space.
Great idea! Thanks for suggesting it
No problem keep up the good work!@@AccountingStuff
Miss your videos❤
I plan to make a bunch more
Hello james I really love your way of teaching, I find it quite easy to understand. If you could provide step by step tutorials for reconciliation and payroll, thank you.
Thanks for your requests :)
Does quick books not have delivery orders for partial delivery of items?

Hey guys, I wanted to ask. Is this good software to use if I own a small bakery? That makes a yearly revenue of $60,000 with seven employees. Does this software sound good?
Hello James, I am a huge fan of your lessons. 😊 Would it be possible for you to cover petty cash books 📖💰 in one of your future lessons? 🙏
Thanks for your request! I'll keep this in mid for future vids :)

Hi Sir. Your videos are very useful and its helps to develop my accounting knowledge. I hav a vehicle spare parts shop in srilanka. Which version of QB suitable ro me? We have nearly 3500 items. When prepare invoice its hard to search item via search line. If there is a barcode sys in , its easy to pick items correctly. I have only problem in QB. Is there any alternative for this ?? What would you recommend to fix this problem??
Hi, could you please offer a newbie some advice. I have been using the Quickbooks Iphone App for the past month but needed to go back as far as April 23 so logged in on my PC to do that, which I have done. How do I now get those records to sync with my phone app as they are not showing on there? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Is there a way to connect quickbooks to my register to track sales, taxes, and inventory?
Hey, thanks for the video. Do can make video for Journal entry in Quick Book?
Thanks for your request!
Hi there 🙋 James thanks for the vid extremely helpful advice for my with my cleaning business lots of hints where to find things that appear to be hidden.. Could you please do a vid on the different things that aren't accessible on Qb app compared to desktop site I've found a couple of things recently I've been using Qb for nearly a year now and it's simplified my bookkeeping so much compared to old fashioned ledger I used to use thanks again for informative vids.. Also could you please do a vid where you allocate your payg payments and also gst payable (under which heading) there's a few similar ones and I don't know which one I'm supposed to use when I pay my payg and gst..
Thanks for your request!
How can you send several invoices to the same client? I'm not talking about Estatement, I'm referring to a client who wants all of his invoices open. I've only been able to send them one by one and what I need is for them all to appear in the same email. Is it possible? How?
I’m in a quickbooks class at my high school and am using this to study for the certification exam
Good luck in your exam!
@@AccountingStuff thank you!

Can Quickbooks be used for project management, including tracking clients and projects?
Can you make a video on how to print multiple suppliers remittance slips on quickbooks online

Are there any formal training courses you recommend for Quickbooks online? Something that goes through step-by-step in detail on how to use the platform? Thank you. I love your content! It has been incredibly helpful! Does Quickbooks itself offer any training when you buy a subscription?
Have you looked into the QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor training? I believe it's still free. quickbooks.intuit.com/au/accountants-and-bookkeepers/proadvisors/
@@AccountingStuff Thank you! I'll look into that. I also found some great courses on Udemy. 🙂
Your platform shows Get Things Done, Business Overview, Planner.
Mine only shows Home and Planner.
So frustrating when trying to use these help videos and they don't actually show what I'm seeing!
Hi! I have a question. Do you think your all in one cheat sheet would still be beneficial for someone who just graduated college with a 4 year degree in accounting? I am going to be working in the accounting field soon and want to make sure I am well prepared
You can use them as reference sheets for different accounting topics. I still use them now. If you are unsure then you can get this one for free to see if it's helpful: accountingstuff.com/shop/accounting-equation-cheat-sheet
Also, can you make video on SAP software of accounting?
Thanks for your request!
Hi James.. Can you make a video on FIFO, weightage average method and LIFO?

King James!!!
Explain why they name debit card and credit but there purpose are different from the accounting principle.. Advance and prepaid kind of a thing..
Don't be confused, it's not about purpose but your position or bank's(other party's) position.
In case of credit card, because you have to pay later it means you owe the bank so the bank records you as a debit because they have to receive from you the amount and in your books you record it as credit because you have to pay it in future.
Opposite goes in case of debit card you spend from what you already have in your bank account which banks owes you i.e, the bank has to pay you, so here the bank records your amount as a credit balance and you record in your books as debit balance, basically as you know in case of debit card you spend from the bank a/c where you already have your money in debit.
@@lostnfound9862 Wow! You explain me in very simple way. Thanks a lot bro!!!
Your bank account is an equity account (equity accounts have a normal credit balance, they increase with credits)
May I ask why my expenses section look different than yours?
I only have "category, description, and amount".
But you have "category, description, amount, billable, tax, and customer".
I've difficulty entering the tax every time doing bookkeeping... Plz help
You say "attach your support" in the reconciliation function. What exactly is that?
The documentation that supports the transaction. It could be a bill or an invoice etc.
Wait how do I use journal entries? Did you link to it and I missed it?
8:12
Do any of quickbooks give you financial statements?
Yes they do. It's all in the reports section
And can you make video on "why it shows debit when money deduct from my bank account and credit when it receive amount"?
I cover that in this video: czcams.com/video/ddb65RudGi0/video.html
@@AccountingStuff thanks again 🙂
Is talking to an accountant free?
Thumbnails today are annoying and unprofessional, but... I guess its not clickbait fairly informative.

I'm a big fan of you and your channel, but personally not a fan of Quickbooks / Intuit. I look at this video as a rare exception where you were probably persuaded by the corporation to promote them and get a commission on sales. QB videos are a dime a dozen because they are a greedy company and pay creators for the promos. Hope to see you return to pure accounting videos soon.
Thanks for your feedback! My last video about QuickBooks ended up being one of the most watched videos on my channel. I've been getting lots of comments saying that it's becoming out of date which is why I made this one.
As mentioned in the video, I am part of the affiliate program with Intuit so I earn commission if people sign up using my link. However, I've never taken sponsorship money from them or any other company. It's something I actively avoid because I don't want to compromise the integrity of this channel.
I appreciate your concern and I assure you that the next set of videos will be pure accounting videos.
Just because you dont like it doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t. Kind of childish of you. As you can see, most people are benefited from this type of content, also it’s 100% OK for any content creator to monetize for us users to keep getting good quality content. Just skip something you’re not interested in.
@@in2worship4ever they were just being honest. Intuit should be indicted for Racketeering over forcing QB Desktop users (who were paying $300 for 2 yrs) to move to an online only platform that cost over $1k annually for comparable accounting tools.
I totally agree with the 2nd comment. I find this video very helpful. I’m used to the desktop version and not the online one. But apparently as technology grows and companies tend to divert to paperless transactions, I have no choice but need to learn how it works. Thanks for the video.❤️
