Beautiful video sir, I being someone from the IT field am generally always confused with these but you explained the topics so simply that I understood them. Please post more such videos about car engines, the transmissions and other things. Really Informative 😊
It's not fixed it depends and differs from manufactures to manufacturers and how you drive the car and the computer ICU that controls it for example in cars if you have the sports mode then the gears are not changed quickly and go till high rpm but if you put it in eco / comfort mode they do change at a lot lower rpm for better milage.
I used to all like it earlier had the Original Honda CIVIC 1.8 Manual for about 10 years but now of the crazy traffic have moved to automatic as it's a nightmare to drive a manual in the city traffic at-least in Hyderabad.

I'm a manual guy myself. And i was worried when i bought Verna Automatic. And i feel new automatic machines are improving a lot. Doesn't feel much of a difference. Though automatic's can never replace the driving enthusiasm of a manual.
Divyajeevan Sahoo slightly off-topic but test drive the new BMW 330i (2019 model) damm it's like a crazy rocket even though it's automatic there is no hint of any lag in that car, it was one of the best driving experiences I had with cars that are available in India but I hate that they skimp on even basic features like no key less entry for Indian variant and some other basic stuff.

Good video Ranjit. I own a car with DCT/DSG. I would like to add that with a DCT in addition to good performance, fuel economy can be as good or better than a manual transmission.

Having VW AMEO DSG ( Dual clutch)!! Maruti dzire came up with Torque converter Automatic in 2016!! I purchased that only because it’s not AMT. Then sold that & bought VW Dual clutch!! And i am proud to say am Enthusiastic! Torque converter or DSG!! No other best automatics

Finally I found a video that explains the AMT transmission in English. Recently Suzuki released a small car in our region that uses this particular transmission. The only car that I saw using a similar transmission was the fiat 500.
As an old car guy and an ex mechanic in my younger days , my main consideration is longevity , reliability , cost of maintenance . I am a big fan of the old torque converter auto`s in recognized well built models/brands , the one is my last car is 18 years old and the auto had nothing but general servicing and a few very easy and cheap to replace oil seals .. All those other ones mentioned , including the automated manual transmission type , i would not go near if i could help it .

I have used a Honda city CVT, my right foot started paining because there was no respite to the right foot, it was always occupied either pressing the brake or the accelerator. In a MT there is respite to the right foot because you can control the vehicle with the clutch and there is no reqmt to always keep the right foot engaged. MT vehicles are better whether in traffic or on highway, yes, in diesels it might be different because clutches are heavy.
Its great that we gained something extra apart from the regular smartphone knowledge. I would be eagerly waiting for more stuffs like this. Thanks a lot in advance. ❤
