    i've had recreational experience with all of these except DMT, and i feel that this experience gives me an intuitive grasp on the ways they might be useful in a clinical setting.
    if i had to describe it, i'd say that what they all have in common is they encourage you to resume the perspective you had when you were young, before your mind became an elaborate defensive structure.

    • @BHBalast
      @BHBalast Před 8 měsíci

      @@madlenj.4644 In the end chemical inbalance ofter is a result of a certain brain activity patterns eg. catastrophic thinking etc. Even chronic stress which influences whole body from heart to weight gain can be caused by unhealthly thinking patterns. When doying psychodelics it's "easier" to think about other things, and thinking paths strenghten when repeated - the more you think in a certain way, the easier is for you to think the same way, sounds obious. So when under the influence it's easier to break unhealthly (and also healthly, that's the danger) thinking patterns and think in a different way, so to get the most out of experience it's beneficial to do it with a proffesional.

With mdma it may bring a great relief from suffering immediately, especially if one have anxiety or depression, but in case of schizophrenia, after 'being in heaven', one may fall in hell of this terrible disease so deep and fast, that he/she would not be able to put up with it.

    Hey Dr. Marks. Love you! Real quick - nothing to do with this video - I'm 46, went to my doctor yesterday, told them I began cutting myself during tough times. They never asked me to lift up my shirt and reveal what I have been doing. Is that normal? Does their referral to a psychologist shift those very graphic concerns to someone else? Maybe Georgia uses a smaller list of severe symptoms for people going down a dark place...

    Comparing this video to the one you did about THC it just seems like the government for whatever reason is more concerned about the negative affects of marijuana and excited about the possible long term consequences of allowing Americans to use MDMA and other popular mood altering medicines. Maybe it's cuz I'm a stoner but I never cared for MDMA, too much energy, and the worst part is the people profiting off of it and looking like they're happier or more successful than me, but they don't include others, like the Trolls movie. It is productive to have a company culture that's positive and inclusive, but when did Interpersonal Communication become all the rage at the cost of critical thinking? Our approach to phycological wellness must not be too egocentric, that is the whole point of psychedelics.

      The Bible triggered my schizophrenia, then I followed up with lots of intense meditation (which induced tactile and some visual halluc9nations), I became in tune with my body, then got obsessed with wanting to try mushrooms, tried mushrooms, not much happened beyond new lines of thought entering my head, those types of thought have stayed off and on for the last 2 years.

      Antipsychotics make me depressed so I refuse to take them.
      They get forced on me when I enter psychosis and eventually get hospitalized (my psychosis isn't really psychosis it just seems like it is because I blindly follow my body and mind with no control)
      My psychosis is typically triggered by strong emotions (I've never been able to emotionally connect to anyone in my entire life, including family, so strong emotions + me living as I live tend to lead me to do very silly, potentially dangerous, things. I'm a psychopath and spent my entire life up till I got schizophrenia wanting nothing but death so danger doesn't bother me. I don't do anything too risky though. Self preservation is strong. I respect my body)
