    Hi, silly question here: when you´re assigning your analog outputs related to your mixes I see that Mix 1 is assigned to Mix1 output, but I thought mixes were stereo, so is the physical output labeled as Mix 1 stereo too?
    I'm thinking of buying a Stereolive Series III but I´ve got a lot of questions about it and I´m trying to figure them out. Thanks!

      You have 16 mono mix outputs. But they can be stereo linked to give you 8 stereo mix outputs.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9 Před 5 lety +1

      PreSonus should re-name the physical Mix outputs as Aux rather than Mix as this gets confusing, sending Mix 1 to Mix 1.

    hey is it possible to route an output to create a monitor wedge for a guest singer, who doesnt use IEMS to sing along to a track. like take the output maybe from XLR into a DI box and the DI box with a instrument jack into a speaker? then route the output to match the computer channel to let the singer hear it?

    Will this work for PA management? Need crossover solution for 4 way stereo plus mono for subs. 9 outputs with individual crossover settings?

    • @madrooster7
      @madrooster7 Před 4 lety

      Pretty sure you could do that on any digital mixer, though it's a really inefficient use of the outputs when a cheap hardware crossover will split out to amps just fine, if you're only splitting the same signal. There's already a separate mono mix on this and most others, that you can EQ separately however you like, and feed a sub or front fills, and I use multiple mix outputs for delays all the time, and often one for a sub on an aux mix, so only instruments I want in the sub get sent to it. We also use this feature all the time to feed Q&A foldbacks, or a mix minus for something like a skype call where you wouldn't want to feed the skype's audio back into itself, but want it in the mains.

    Thanks for the video Ray!
    I have the following situation, in my church I want to receive the audio from the console via usb, to process it in the daw Studio One, since we transmit all the services live, but the last time we did it, it turns out that the boys (musicians) also get the audio with effects, and it is annoying to be listening in their in-ears the effects that are applied to the drums such as a compressor, the reverbs of the voices, and all those effects, in the transmission, everything is very good, but I need the analog signal to reach the boys as it enters the console. Is there a way to configure the Mix outputs in the Studio Live console in such a way that the signal that comes out of there is the analog?
    Thanks a lot.

  • @uptownphotography

    Great video and I have a question please.
    I have the 32S model, which I have not used yet (I bought it fairly recently). I am rewiring my studio for a hybrid setup where on a mix down I would like to use, at times, some vintage outboard gear. (Like an Eventide H3000 and some vintage digital reverbs like Yamaha REV 7 and Lexicon PCM 42 Digital Delay).
    Question: Is it best to send the the audio to the outboard gear using the Sub Outputs (like an aux send on an analog console) and return the FX stereo audio return signal via either the Aux inputs and/or a line input. There's only 2 stereo Aux inputs on the 32S, so I would prefer being able to use the line inputs (as returns) so if needed, I can return 3 or more stereo FX return signals into the mix down.
    Thanks for any info you can share as I am used to using an analog console.

    Digital patching on StudioLive doesn't work anything like I would want or expect. For example, the tiny selection of potential sources for the AES output made it useless to us.

    We recently bought 10 Earmix 16 units. I was able to create a mix for one of those but haven’t been able to do separate mix for the other units. We have a Studiolive 3 mixer @ FOH and a Studiolive 32R stage box and a couple of the SW5E switches. The manual doesnt show how to work with muliple Earmixs and also nothing on youtube. I'm so sorry. Presonus is hard to use. Somebody has got to say so. They appear to have their own name for everything so you can't even look up how to accomplish simple things. Their system is not straight forward. It is option heavy, all at once, to the point of befuddlement.
