@KoutaFG There is a lot of work to get every device that goes into one of these machines. Even the simplest of these can take quite awhile to complete and perfect. That's not to say that I wouldn't want to see it too. I would love to build it myself.
@KoutaFG That's what he's been doing. He's been building sections for quite some time now. Check out his videos. At various points in time, he puts everything together and then lets us watch it all run.
Criss, yes, there is a world record for the longest. I believe it is located in Switzerland, but I could be wrong about that. Most these "things" are called ball runs or marble machines or rolling ball sculpture or Rube Goldberg machines. I know there are several videos for "world's longest marble run" or some such on CZcams.
To me, these are not "Rube Goldberg" machines; Those are a very different thing. The original Rube Goldberg machines didn't even use balls although that name has indeed become to mean "any machine that is more complicated than necessary", or something similar, to which I would still say that rolling ball sculptures don't qualify without many more unnecessary parts. I find the lack of refinement in modern Rube Goldberg contraptions to be a bit disappointing, especially compared to the finely detailed and precisely manufactured rolling ball sculptures that can be found these days. And yes, I know this is a 9 year old comment. Denha has sure become prolific and turned out a lot of nice mechanisms since this was first posted.
I wonder if any one has made something like this that takes the ball more then 5 to 10 minutes to get from the start of the track to the end, I mean its neat to see these things, watching the balls go through these neat little mazes and tricks but it all happens in a matter of a minute or less, I'd love to see one that goes though many many , little mazes, many many little elevators many many trap doors and so on, I wonder if there is a world record for the longest, well what ever you call these
you have excelled your self yet again denha, this is amazing!
Awesome. That gear design is totally sweet.
How simple, so brilliant!
As soon as I clicked on this video, I was like: "OH!! I see how it works now!" This is quite an ingenious ball lifting device.
dehna, you are a genius.
this a the best mechanic elevator ever :D
Engeneering, design precision are impressive!
what kind of marble elevator would you use for a miniature roller coaster?

Amazing !!
I can't wait to see the finished product with this ball elevator in it......Doug....=)
Little Big Planet IRL. Crazy cool

@KoutaFG there is such thing but with lego contraptions and lego balls...
Freaking genius
Man, you are better than Einstein... Are you an engineer?
This mangle gear was used in a totally different way than I thought.
you are freaking awsome genius!!! :D

Another nics invention.
master !!!
direct force to alternative force
You should try to reduce the radius of the pulley so it goes faster.
very goo work!YOU MADE 195 VIDEOS!
Lol, it's awesome.
Those are bigger marbles than usual.
@KoutaFG Search for "Lego GBC" on CZcams. Those are made by lego.
nice
