No one in the comments has taken the bait on your title huh? It seems like the Pyrite has loosened its grip on the KnifeTuber space but it's still left its mark on 2023. I've handled a vanilla Pyrite (not bad) and have enough money tied up in other things I'm not likely to go the Pyrite way. My main reason would have been that I would want to try out a button lock and I've gotten my hands on one (or two) so that itch has been scratched. Thanks for your thoughts (and hopefully someone else will take the bait)
S90v is a lock stick blade material. It is my favorite steel and almost all of my knives in s90v have lock stick across 4 brands.
