    Why do people always question whether something is really "far right," but are happy to use "far left," at essentially any socially worthy idea. The NHS would have been deemed far left once.

    • @Auriflamme
      @Auriflamme Před 19 dny +7

      Part of the reason is that a lot of right-wingers are embarrassed to admit that they are right wing, whereas people on the left tend to be proudly so. I think that perhaps people on the extremes of the right realise on some level that their beliefs are anti-humanist. If they are somewhat psychopathic, they do not mind admitting that, but if they have empathy for their in-group it can be difficult for them to square their antipathy for the 'other'.

    • @jonathandnicholson
      @jonathandnicholson Před 19 dny

      Far-left/right are now subjective epithets. Every policy or politician is almost always described as righteous when agreed with or Communist/Fascist/Nazi if not. Most of that is almost always an unfair attribution, but those are pretty much the only historic references we think we know. Plus '.... is a .... Fundamentalist' or '... is a Communist/Fascist/Nazi' is the way to get attention/likes/shares/etc.

      @jonathandnicholson are you sure? In Aberdeen there is a Labour Tory coalition local council. Scotland is the place to watch in the GE the SNP have bet the farm on the supreme Court ruling and lost. Labour and the cons will take most of the Scottish seats in the GE between them, casing a hung parliament. Starmer is so desperate foe power he will work with the tories in Westminster. In Scotland there is a Holyrood election in 2005 and again the SNP will be wiped out and their constituencies will be divided among tory a d Labour who will form a coalition in Holyrood to keep the SNP out or from reforming itself.

      Same argument put by Australia. Animosity to people arriving by boat was huge. Most were ‘economic’ refugees who had relatives already in Aus. These relatives paid the smugglers
      Also, Australia takes approx 20.000 refugees annually, so the boat people were unfairly taking places of those waiting for yrs in refugee camps

      If there’s ever a civil war or natural disaster that devastates the UK British refugees will go to a variety of nations across the world for refuge, as is their legal right. When someone insists on going to Spain because they speak fluent Spanish, or Australia because they have family there, you need to pedantically tell them they must go to France, the nearest safe nation. When the French say they can’t afford millions of British refugees by themselves and the responsibility should be spread around you can tell the French you believe their proximity to the UK means they must take in and accommodate every British refugee. If you can see how silly this suggestion is you can also see how silly the ‘first safe nation’ lie you people tell each other is.

      Many of the issues and mounting costs we see today wrt migrants is the governments deliberate effort to prevent the processing of claims and cause a backlog. This causes an enormous backlog which requires them to be housed whilst they await processing.

      The government is passing the blame for mass Chinese style censorship on to the private companies like Google,CZcams and Facebook ect.
      Reality is failed ministers like Nick Clegg are moved on into cushy high profile jobs in these companies/institutions and can manifest government/WEF ambitions from within them.
