- Pak Sao is a defensive technique commonly used in Wing Chun, a Chinese martial art known for its efficiency and close-range combat principles. "Pak" translates to "slap" or "slapping," while "Sao" means "hand" in Cantonese. Pak Sao is primarily used to redirect and neutralize incoming attacks while maintaining a strong defense. Wing Chun is often associated with Jeet Kune Do, which is more of a philosophy than a style. In this context, Sifu Singh provides a detailed exploration of Pak Sau, highlighting its three key components and explaining how to apply them effectively in a fight.

In boxing thow. How u going to make contact and do that. It's near impossible
Wow it’s good to know I’ve been doing this right. This entire time can’t wait to talk you in person again at the Texas retreat Sigung.
I will watch Sifu Singh all day long
I love it i love i love it! The demonstration plus the explanation. AWESOME.
This is pure nonsense, one faint shot from a Boxer, this Wing Chung man wouldn't see the light of day.
A boxing match is not an mma match or a kung fu match. This art style when mastered match’s the mastery of any style. Great lesson from a great and dedicated instructor. The details of the lesson are highly valuable and cross over to not just other martial arts but sports, business, life in general. *Remaining relaxed with the ability to adapt. *Balance, control, understanding where your movements are weaker and stronger.
Thank you
Seems, somewhat easy to do if your "target" sits still like a three year old.... I'm sure it works in some cases..
..real fights are sooo unpredictable...But.....it probably helps knowing these moves,, and using them when the situation presents itself....🤷🏻♂️..(just sayin)...... Good Job & well Done!!....☝️😁👍
Cool. Now show an example of how this was successfully implemented in UFC.
It happens all the time. It happens so fast the human eye can't see it
I think one of an example was when tony Ferguson hand trapped Pettis' right hand and elbow pettis at the temple.
Only someone who does not know martial arts would say something this stupid.
@@jamarjames9501 se o olho humano não consegue ver como vc sabe que aconteceu... aqui no vídeo tá dando pra ver que é pura fantasia... o adversário parado feito o boneco de madeira... kkkk
Can't get enough of Mr Singh. In my opinion, one of the most knowledgeable and skilled Instructors on earth. A deadly Man, teaching advanced knowledge.
not at all! 😂
Far from lol
Excellent 👍👍👍 Sir!
If Wing Chun is based on economy of motion, h'es gonna have to work on his technique cos my guy is sweating and panting like he just did a marathon after a few Pak saos 😭😭😭
Sifu🙏
Love the demonstration and explanation for each move.
Wing Chung is a whole lot of nonsense, try using this crap on a Boxer, this guy would get his head torn off. Against Mike Tyson, your dead.
💜
I Would argue that Pak Sau is not a defensive action at all. It's a motion that aids an attack or can be turned into an attack itself.
Agreed - I was always taught there is no defense.
@@fromthegamethrone That's too extreme. In an ideal situation the defense is ingrained in the offence, but fighting is not an ideal situation and you might need to block.
@@florisvanlingen you're reading in to a one line comment too much. Anyway, you do you, I'll do me.
Exactly. Shoulder joint and structurally weak
I like the attempts at modernizing but it needs to evolve so much more. You have to get rid of that initial touch point, because nobody, but nobody, but nobody does that. When engaging, it's about figuring out distance and closing the gap. A fighter that just lets you in that close so you can touch deserves to lose. Also, that "shot" was one of the worst. Who in their right mind tucks their head in the armpit for an immediate guillotine?
the 1st touch there is a good training point as an index. of course its not where you hang out looking for openings to attack. you might react off of it during some clinch or transitory range
You've never seen a fighter move opponents guard and strike simultaneously 🤦🏾♂️
Garbage get smashed by anyone with real training
All of this is outdated. This is stuff Bruce Lee himself threw away and stopped doing. I don’t know why these guys continue to do these things.
@@axelstone3131 you're wrong...Dan Innosanto knows better than you and he says it is very effwctive. It works and it helped me many times on the street fights.
Nobody leaves their arm out for you
It looks good in slow motion but in real lofe people are moving fast
Up for a fight just to find out if it really works...
Not sure if the sifu's punch could actually hurt that big dude
Maybe , maybe not, but he’s teaching that big dude to defend himself if up against other guys his size
Predicating on the opponent using the same wing chun 'touching forearms' fighting stance and most probably useless against the shuffling style of mma and boxing
Iamhealed #thankYouAllah 2:29 2:31 2:32
When a guy is challenging me I stand with my hands gripping my t-shirt collar . Anything more connected is too close to a fight. This move makes YOU the first punch and therefore YOUR the one going to jail after this fight
fix the typo
yes
Come in like that on any body with skill and you are getting a left on the button before you do anything.
This JKD, not Wing Chun
This guy is bruce lee. He does everything to be like bruce lee. His jeet kune do is right. He should use the soundtrack from Enter the Dragon while demonstrating jeet kune do...
🤣 you really think this is Bruce’s level who skill? A guy who can’t let go of things Bruce himself stopped practicing? Where’s the fencing?
Tommy Carruthers is actually Bruce Lee’s skill level. Unlike all these guys he follows Bruce’s principles.

Way to complicated, you're guna get your face punched trying to do this on anyone other than an old person lol
Idk if i wasted 5 minutes of my life watching this, or the 5 minutes after asking myself wtf did I just watch
Nothing on Henry Sue
Eyebrows are important, they keep the sweat from pouring into your eyes, I never understand why guys shave em off
Why are you angled on the right side? Why are you stepping with your toes? Why is your step so wide? Why is your wrist on the outside gates and not the inside? Idk what he is teaching, but it's not wing tsun...
PİSKOLOK İZZET GÜLLÜYÜ DİNLEYİN VE TAM DÜZELİN
No point of contact in a real fight, wont work in a real fight, etc smh, theres many points of contact in a real fight. Will it be between two men, perfectly squared up, touching wrist till one strikes, prob. Not, but many fights where points arent awarded, theres posturing, ppl in each others faces where this position becomes a real fight situation, take for example the mouthpiece is in your face talking smack, poking your chest with his finger as he does so, you raise your hand to ward off the poking finger and that quick , there it is, or maybe an attacker had your wrist and you slip free and attack from there. There are so many other examples, the reason for repetative practice like this in training is two fold, one, its a controlled environment which minimizes injury while allowing you to learn timing/distancing and two, it creates muscle memory, or unconcious conciousness so you dont have to think it out, like tying your shoes. Weve done that so many times as adults that we can stop, bend and tie all while looking at something else, talking to someone, and tie it without thinking about it. But a child just learning cannot.
Lmfaoo, this is cool for play fighting but does absolutely nothing for you in a real fight 😂
Bullshit.
It works when you have a guardy dude. I have use this in real life situations. Take the guard down to land a hit.
It is effective and works..i have applied it many times.
You couldn't crack Deez I doubt your gonna tap um
Do this in MMA and I'll beleive you....😂
Thats a pretty broad statement, basically saying MMA is the end all beat all in self defense, it is NOT. in any fight, the duration of it, the shape the fighters are in, the amount of time theyve spent honing thier skills etc become the defining reasons a specific outcome happens. Its nothing to do with the art itself for the most part. The very best martial art is none of the many styles, systems out there, the very best self defense is simply not being where a foot/hand or other body or weapons land. When i go out, im not confident that im as close to safe as possible because i can call upon training if needed, but instead im using martial arts before i head out the door. I know potential trouble areas in my area to avoid, im out for a good time with my girl, not looking for trouble, i know how we're dressed, how we're viewed, how we talk, act, carry ourselves and im using self defense in avoiding those areas where any of the things i listed could be offensive or looked at in a negative light to those around me. Is this idea 100% effective? Nothing is, but using self defense in all situations adds a level of safety to the martial arts skills we already have.
@@robert5943 thank you!!
Pura fantasia. Pra dar certo nada pode dar errado ou seja vai dar errado. 😅😅😅
Bruh really.... No one agrees on posture when trying to split ya wig
Great now do the Pak Da on a boxer who isn't doing chi Sao. Sorry but wing Chun ideas work in a fucking vacuum. Chi gerk can be tricky but a wild hook breaks a tan da, even a fuk da. Like have you tried a pak da on someone throwing a combination of punches? It's not so easy.
you are teaching not your own art, this is called copying! a blasphemy to the whole human race.
why not focusing on your own art as well, this is called, the principle of focus 🙄
this joker is the maser of the art of Bullshido only! Still haven't seen it or youin any MMA ring or cage? bro would be out of breath on the walk in.
Are you mad?😂 Jeet kune do is not bullshido. He is not a joker and he doesnt practise MMA to fight in the cage because JKD is about self defense against jokers like you.😂..MMA is the sport combat.
